Why you need respond to Tiktok comments using video: 1) Increased FYP engagement 2) Build community

Why you need respond to Tiktok comments using video: 1) Increased FYP engagement 2) Build community

Exert from a Clubhouse room I was in. The question that was asked was, do I need to respond to every single comment on Tiktok. I don't understand why people dont respond to comments on their social media. Actually, I know why, you don't want to look silly. YOU NEED TO FORGET THIS MENTALITY. Respond to comments using video is your oxygen and also is not offered on any other platform.

Bruno Cortigiani: Merlai Suits and how he started on Tiktok

Bruno is a businessman and the owner of Merlai, a brand that specialises in custom made menswear based out of Brisbane, Australia. Bruno’s first introduction to the world of tailoring happened in Florence (Italy), and his teacher was nonna Ester Merlai, which gives the name to our custom made menswear brand.

He also has a degree in marketing and has been able to grow an audience of close to 10k in just less than a year on Tik Tok.

I’m looking forward to hearing more about his origin story and how he was navigating his career before opening up Merlai for business to where he is today.

The Power of the Tik Tok Algorithm

The Power of the Tik Tok Algorithm

One video can change it all. Personally I'm not about the one hit wonders but this is a great story of businesses accidently being impacted by the power of the Tik Tok algorithm. Goes to show what happens by accident, imagine what would happen if there was a strategy in place for your business?

Do what is right for you

Don't follow your suggested contacts

Don't follow your suggested contacts

The number one take away from this video is - when you join Tik Tok and it asks you to follow 'suggested contacts' - don't do it. They mean well by allowing you to connect with people you already know. But I've found that the less people you really know in life that you are connected to, the more creative and willing you are to risk it for the biscuit if you like and put content out there that you wouldn't normally do.

It's the perfect mix for finding your true self and wanting carve out a niche of your making. I started out doing the typical, routine dance videos, which by the way were fun and good exercise (especially during self-isolation). However I evolved to skits that I found funny myself and now I am really leaning into some value add content - how to use LinkedIn as a professaionl platform. There's businesses who are seeing the real value now and jumping in to grab some of the attention that is currently on the platform.

Tik Tok free Organic Reach

Tik Tok free Organic Reach

The biggest advantage that #business owners can take advantage of right now is the free organic reach on #TikTok. If you pay for ads on #Facebook, #Instagram, #YouTube , #LinkedIn or even #Google, Tik Tok can provide this same reach for free. How is this possible? I break down the following and for you page (FYP)

Tik Tok Corporate: How to bring a human side to your brand

Tik Tok Corporate: How to bring a human side to your brand

Tik tok is quickly becoming a professional outfit which is not commonly thought of as one. Usually thought of as a teenagers app for dancing, the AI driven algorithm, allows content to be viewed by literally thousands if not millions of eyeballs. Understanding how to execute videos using the very intuitive but technically sophisticated inbuilt video editing software is a key to unlocking the algorithm to put your content on the For you page of millions of people. If that doesn't excite you then do it for the next generation. This is their way of communicating and showing them you can relate will build so kuch brand loyalty and trust that no other social media platform has been able to do

COVID-19 Conversations: Matt Hudson

COVID-19 Conversations: Matt Hudson

Solid banter with my guy Matthew Hudson as we spoke about how he started producing content and how he found what has been working for him.

I'm a believer of producing your own content (if you don't currently produce anything). Mainly so you can have a digital footprint and win in a world where social media is a part of life now.

1 do what is natural to you. Matthew loves writing and so he has finessed that to fit into how LinkedIn distributes

2 creativity comes as you execute. Matt was geared for writing 10,000 word papers - now he only has 1300 characters and has really informative and bite size posts

3 there is literally zero barrier to entry. If you have a phone you can produce (I am currently lying in my bed on my phone)

4 judge yourself less. No one else really is

COVID-19 Conversations: Todd Pavlou

COVID-19 Conversations: Todd Pavlou

Keeping the main thing the main thing

I love Todd Pavlou's commitment to being a positive influence during this season and having a proactive mindset around the current state of affairs. He and I caught up yesterday and spoke about how he is doing this through his #7524U personal mission which also keeps his physical health at optimal levels during this time of self isolation.

We briefly touched on Tik Tok and what we've seen recently in how it is influencing the zoomer generation. I'm a big believer of trying to understand our next generation of leaders as I myself want to be leader that can speak with Generational influence not just to my own limited bandwidth. And so getting in their world and learning their medium of communication is vital to this process.

She explained the background around the #executive retreats she facilitates through her #consultancy and a few reasons why she has them in #venice #italy

COVID-19 Conversations: Arihia Witana

Part of my commitment to myself to learn and adapt during this season of uncertainty with trying new things.  This is one of the things I've committed to do is creating content for free that I enjoy and perhaps others will too. Arihia has been in business for close to 20 years now and currently runs a consultancy business (named Totoru) and also has a created a fashion label (DOSI). She is of Maori heritage but has been a resident in Australia now for more than 10 years. Her most recent venture has been to release her first book which launched January 2020 I really liked her approach with starting her Business during a time when we she was unemployed. We are in a time right now where the internet has made this so much easier and so during the COVID-19 self isolation period, what's a side hustle you can devote some of your time to? Arihia has done this successfully and also find out how to do this in her book titled: “Turning your TAONGA into a BUSINESS.” (Taonga means gift or treasure in Maori) You can order her book directly through Kindle, Amazon, Booktopia, Barnes & Noble or Kobo. Or make contact with her via her LinkedIn page https://www.linkedin.com/in/arihia-ari-witana-791054a9
