Corrie Mapp| His Journey From Barbados To Becoming Bobsleigh World Champion| Debut Book Black Ice| Documentary + More
Corrie Mapp is somewhat of a hometown hero to me. From the day we met (not that long ago) I instantly felt a huge amount of inspiration having read his book and worked with him on his upcoming documentary. A Bajan native like myself (that's Barbadian if you're wondering) we share similar upbringings which made his story and journey so fascinating to me.
From becoming a Barbados Police officer to joining the BDF (Barbados Defence Force) and later the Queens Guards. This would be some journey that led to tours in Afghanistan where his life would be changed forever.
We've had some incredible guests on the show and amazing journeys, but this is by far one of the most inspirational stories we've had the privilege of listening to. And the fact he's a fellow Bajan would might have something to do with it. 😁
Please be sure to follow Corrie and support his endeavours, charity causes, competing on the world Bobsleigh stage, his upcoming documentary + the release of his book #BlackIce OUT NOW!!!

Stephanie Njoku Talks: Being A Co Founder & Entrepreneur| How to Protect Your Intellectual Property| Starting Her Career In Lawyer| Lack Of Diversity In Law + More
This episode has to be one of the most enjoyable, educational and 🔥🔥🔥 #conversationsfortheculture we've had on the show. This week we welcome Stephanie Njoku, Co Founder and Entrepreneur of Neo Percept IP. A company she founded with her co Founder Jon specialising in #Trademark #IP #BrandProtection #Patents #Copyright and lots more services. As with many of my guess, their journey and story is what I'm always impressed with and Stephanie's is no different.
We discuss everything from her childhood and growing up wanting to be a Doctor. From pivoting to law and combining both science and Law was a stroke of genius for her. Something which will serve her well for years to come. Having worked her way through the ranks of becoming a credible attorney, Stephanie was on the path to success... or so it seemed.
As we discussed her being the only black person within the firm for a long time as well as her having become a chameleon when work. Feeling frustrated and wanting to make an impact. She Co founded Neo Percept IP with a clear mission in hand. to support those individuals who can't themselves in matters of business, ownership and pushing the culture forward. Supper excited for you all to listen to the 💎💎💎 she drops and take note of the education being shared across multiple disciplines for business.

Deborah T Johnson|What It Takes To Build A PR & Brand Business| Building Her Legacy| Supporting Black Owned Brands + More
This has to be one of the most enjoyable and undeniably self aware guest we've had on show. This week we sit down with none other than Deborah T Johnson. PR & Brand Manager to brands such as founded by the incredible Khalia Isman, Winnie Awa, founder of Carra, Trina Nicole to name but a few. We cover a wide range of topics in this week's episode. From the school system, building generational wealth, building businesses and what it takes, building a strong sense of self awareness and lots more.
I'm extremely grateful to have Deborah on the show given we have so much in common. The way she's been able to grow her business and clients, whilst staying in line with her morals and values should be celebrated, especially in an industry where these can so easily be compromised. Using her graft, talents and as she puts it "not wanting to be poor" Deborah has built a career and a life she is very proud of and continues to be guided by her purpose to provide and open doors for brands who seemingly would not have that opportunity.
This from her 10+ years working in the PR & Brand Management industry before leaving to pursue her calling and tap into her greatness. This has allowed her to be more aligned with the brands she chooses to work with ensuring their match her purpose and she can showcase their story on the big stages.

Arjun Thaker Ep 14 Part 2| Building A Multi Million Pound Company| Overcoming Set Backs| Becoming A Girl Dad + More
We continue this week with part 2 after discussing the early stages of Arjun's childhood and professional career. The conversation shifts similar to the mindset of the man himself and how he pivoted to building a multi million pound business. It's truly an inspiration to listen and learn from all the mistakes, failures and setbacks he experienced. To growing, believing and achieving success on a level that many thought not in his future.

Arjun Thaker - C.E.O| Investor| Founder| Entrepreneur Talks His Early Childhood In Leicester| Going to Prison| How Changing His Mindset Changed His Life + More
This week we have a special guest and friend. Someone who I've personally known for 10+ years and still uncovered information in this episode I had no clue about. Arjun's current life too many would seem to tick the boxes of success. A beautiful family with his partner Sarah and their two kids, a successful career within corporate, transitioning to becoming a C.E.O // Founder // Entrepreneur and the list goes on.
However, what we learnt on this episode is that the road to achieve success and truly go after the things we want and dream of in life, is not without setbacks, losses, pain and an obscene amount of hard work. Arjun takes us on a journey throughout his childhood and early memories of his parents loosing their business, moving multiple times across multiple schools, getting involved with the crowd and creating a reputation.
All of which taught him valuable lessons along the way, which led to a change in mindset after spending time in prison and being kidnapped. A truly remarkable story of persistence, an incredible work ethic and taking a chance on yourself. I'm so excited for you all to hear part of this 2 part episode as we delve into the mind of one of the most determined, charismatic and inspiring people I know.

Dr Yvonne Ayo Talks Family Therapy| Being An Educator| Working & Curating Museums
This was a fascinating conversation and one which I've been looking forward to for some time. This week on the show we welcome Dr Yvonne Ayo. An extraordinary career with multiple achievements and plenty of twist and turns along the way, a truly remarkable woman who never took NO for an answer.
We discuss her remarkable journey as one of the few black women working and curating museums in the 70's. The need for more diversity and inclusion back then and what can be done to see more.
Pivoting her career from museums to family therapy and becoming an educator and trainer to young women in the therapy space. One of the many gems which Dr Yvonne shared that stuck with me is, the ability to "go for it." A quality which I myself have been practicing more each and everyday.
I hope you all enjoy this conversation as much as I did and please share any gems Dr Yvonne dropped and tag us @bringothersalongpodcast.

Raph Talks Achieving His Dream As A Professional Footballer| Going To Prison| Becoming An Entrepreneur| Spirituality + More
Throughout this podcast, I've had many moments of inspiration from my incredible guest. This week is no different. We had the privilege of meeting and sitting down with Raph who's journey is simply mind blowing. From his humble beginnings in Manchester, raised by Jamaican parents he navigated an unconventional but loving upbringing. Recognising he had an appetite and talent for football at a young age he chased his dreams of becoming a professional footballer. After capturing the eye of many scouts and whilst developing and honing his skills, his hard work paid off. Signing his professional contract at the age of 16, Raph had a clear plan for his life and career as a pro footballer.
But nothing could prepare him for what was to be a life changing moment which would see his plan and career altered for the rest of his life. What started out as a typical night in Manchester with his mates, later turned into him finding himself at the mercy of the courts charged with attempted murder. This story is one which unfortunately has been heard before, however in Raph's case he was not going to become a statistic. What followed was a life changing time fighting for his freedom and trying to make sense of what was once his dream career, now no on the brink of disappearing.
Part one of this episode is packed with life lessons, resilience, failures, overcoming failures, celebrating successes, entrepreneurship and so much more. An amazing story and journey from an amazing man. Who's focus is now routed in mentorship, building businesses and giving back to his community through healthy food, health education and embodies "Bring Others Along." A truly remarkable person and I'm sure when you all listen, you too will agree.
Join the movement, be part of community and let's make it part of the culture to bring others along. Follow our journey and Raph's and stay tuned for some epic collaborations from us in the future.

Chef Kyron Talks His Journey His Unconventional Journey To Becoming A Chef| Shares Life Lessons| Leaving St Vincent And Travelling The World
This episode was a whole vibe!!! Linking up with Kyron Hughes... (Chef K) as I call him was an absolute pleasure. Not only is his journey to becoming Head Chef at Alberts Manchester fascinating and totally unconventional. He's a fellow West Indian (St Vincent) where often we're in pursuit of our dreams no matter where they take us, but the reality is many of those dreams are lost. This is not one of those times, in-fact the life lessons, resilience and pure determination to succeed is painted with every word from Chef K.
Leaving St Vincent at an incredibly young age was a decision made both out of seeking a better life for himself and his son, only having just become a father for the first time. From cruise chips, to America, to England... every chapter in Chef K's journey is intriguing and filled with twist and turns which will leave you wondering... HOW THE HELL!!!
Throughout this conversation, it reminded me somewhat or my own journey and how so many us from the Caribbean are seeking ways to better provide for ourselves and our loved ones. Although I never had the privilege of working or travelling on a cruise ship, the journey and life lessons shared in this episode are very close to home.

Chantel Nyame Talks Building Generational Wealth & Educating The Next Generation
In episode 4 it was a full circle moment for me. Speaking with Chantel Nyame who wrote multiple books on building generational wealth which speaks to both parents and kids, starting from 5+ 7+ and 13+. I got recommended these books roughly 12 months ago and was instantly impressed. Practical information, easy to digest and beautiful art work made Chantel's books an instant favourite for me and my daughter. Chantel's story is pretty interesting and relatable to so many. She is a business woman, wife and mother who juggles a lot and wears many hats.
We explore how she came up with her book series and why speaking specifically to young people was her main focus. Although Chantel is not a qualified financial advisor, educating herself and learning the techniques from courses and mentors who are qualified financial advisors, allowed her to share her perspective on building generational wealth and the many ways she is building wealth for her family.
This was a timely conversation with so many trying to figure out ways to build wealth, Chantel's books offer a no fluff easy to understand and necessary information for the next generation. All inspired by her son, wanting to secure his future and her family's for generations to come.

Jamie Lawrence| From Prison To The Premier League
We're back with another amazing guest and incredible story. This week I sit down with ex professional footballer Jamie Lawrence. His journey is remarkable for many reasons, but one of the main takeaways for me was there is no substitute for HARD WORK. From pursuing his dream of becoming a professional footballer and playing in the premier league. To being sentenced twice and having multiple set backs on the road to achieving his dreams.
We discuss everything from his strict, disciplined and loving up bring being raised by Jamaican parents. To the start of his footballing journey where his lucky break came from the most unexpected places, prison. Jamie opens up about what landed him in prison, always being different and thinking as an individual as well as his work ethic and mindset which played a huge role in him turning his life around.
Jamie has his book out appropriately titled From Prison To The Premier League. He brings elements of his book to life in our conversation which is definitely one for the culture. A great listen and with an impressive man who throughout all the adversity always works to bring others along.
