Ep 52: Reading your body for better life + biz outcome
By reading your body's signals, you can fine-tune your life and business for optimal outcomes. In this episode you will learn:
1. How our body's somatic responses can inform our intuition, emotions, and decision making
2. The questions to ask to help you best discern your next steps
"Rather than using our sight, our hearing, our touch, our taste, all of those sorts of senses, it's about using the senses that we feel on the inside, which is very much connected to our intuition."
Today's episode discusses how to read your body better for life and business outcomes. I'm a big believer in using somatic responses to guide my decisions. However, I often find myself struggling to interpret those responses correctly. This can lead to making poor decisions that can have negative consequences for my life and business. I'm hoping that today's episode will help you to sharpen your skills of discernment so that you can make better choices going forward.

Ep 51: The modern day entrepreneur
In a world where technology and creativity are increasingly entwined, being a modern day entrepreneur requires mastering both skillsets - something that didn't used to be the case. In this episode, you will learn:
1. The skills that modern-day entrepreneurs need in order to be successful
2. The importance of claiming your identity as a creative individual
3. The practice of creativity, and how it can help you get seen online
"In order to do that, you need to put your creative hat on. You need to redefine yourself as a creative. You need to make sure that you make time for creativity and for play."
I was a panelist on the Coffs Coast Creative Industries Visioning, the future networking event. It really got me thinking about entrepreneurship and the skills required to be modern-day startup-preneur, and I wanted to share those thoughts with you here in this episode. Previously start-up entrepreneurs needed skills like being a networker, a really effective networker. They had to get along to a lot of live networking events. They leveraged print media and the artwork was generally handled but the newpaper's graphic design department - not the business owner.
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. The skills that modern day entrepreneurs need in order to be successful
2. The importance of claiming your identity as a creative individual
3. The practice of creativity, and how it can help you get seen online

Ep 50: To share your prices or not?
For most of us, a key part of the sales process requires is to let potential clients know our prices and packages. In your modality training or business coaching groups, you may have been told to have them on your website or not have them on your website for different reasons. Perhaps your coach or trainer has a system that they use and teach that favours one or the other. Before you decide what's best for your business you want to listen to this episode.
There are pros and cons to advertising prices and not showing them at all before a discovery or sales call.
"I definitely think that the answer is very individual. But I think it's always wise to go in with eyes wide open because often I'll have new clients who perhaps have had other advice where somebody has really given a hard and fast way that they should advertise or not advertise their prices."
In this episode, I talk about the benefits of both advertising and not advertising your prices publicly- particularly for those in the first few years of their business. You'll get a chance to consider what's right for you and what feels most authentic and aligned.

Ep 49: Common sales mistakes and how to avoid them
In today's episode of Joyous Journeys in Life + Business, I'm talking to you about some of the most common mistakes people make when selling their services online - and how to avoid them. In this episode you will learn the 4 keys to being a strategic and soulful salesperson.
"Despite your training and background, you are not a coach until you are a successful salesperson first. You have to be able to sell your services so that you can do what you really want to do"
I'm sharing some of the most common mistakes people make when selling. Sales is a skill and the sooner that I worked hard to improve my skills in this area, the sooner I experienced growth in my business. The good news is- the 'skills' I developed really just had my become a better human. You'll find that the tips in this episode to improve sales results aren't about trickery, they're about making more genuine connections with people. When I implemented these tips I saw a huge difference in my business. I was making more sales and attracting my ideal clients. I was finally able to do the work I loved and change people's lives.

Ep 48: Getting paid to speak with Jaimie Abbott
Jaimie was recently a guest trainer in my SOULiD®️ Membership and with so much gold in the session I wanted to invite her on the show to share some of her wisdom in how to get paid to speak, how to look for paid speaking opportunities as well as overcoming fears and basic public speaking tips and tricks.
Jaimie Abbott is an award-winning media professional and international keynote speaker and has spent two decades in the industry working as a Radio and TV Journalist, Political Media Adviser, Managing Director of her own public speaking and media training company and a Communications Adviser for the Royal Australian Air Force. She was an elected independent Councillor on Port Stephens Council for over 4 years up until 2021.

Ep 47: Planning for a happy home run
Following on from last week's popular episode on the current challenges in growing an online business, this week I'm talking about the 4 key considerations as we approach the end of the year and the planning I recommend ensuring that you hit a happy home run.
The key areas for consideration & planning I discuss are:
- Time away from your biz
- Income needed
- Content continuity
- Your Offers
You might be surprised to know that with a little planning you can take time off and continue to support your clients with free and paid offers. The summer is also a time when many people are re-assessing their direction in life and so as a coach, healer or consultant this is a great time to grow your audience as people have more time to 'browse' the internet. Granted that people are also feeling burnt out but it's not a time to disappear and go cold on your peeps. A little planning now will go a long way in months to come!

Ep 46: Why it's never been harder to grow an online business
If you’re growing a coaching, healing or soulful consultancy business right now and feeling like you’re pushing sh^t uphill, you’re not alone. It’s high time that the struggle in the online business world right now is normalised and spoken about.
Launch conversion rates are well down, audience growth is slower than usual and just doing the bare minimum definitely isn’t cutting it.
There are a number of reasons why it's never been quite so hard to build an online business but it’s not all doom and gloom.
From the economy to online burnout to algorithms changing on the daily… the need to do more of what moves the needle has never been more important.
In this episode, I chat about the key challenges we as online business owners face and what you can do to keep your ship sailing in the right direction to weather this entrepreneurial sh^t storm.

Ep 45: What I've learnt in the past year about online memberships
It's no secret that my SOULiD Membership is my most favourite place to hang out on the internet!
This week we are celebrating SOULiD's 1st birthday which blows my mind on one hand and on the other it's like "of course!"
Having seen so many memberships launch and end within 3-6 months, I wanted to be certain that I could hold the intensity of always being "ON" and also that my concept would grow legs. As it turns out, it did and here we are a year on in and just getting started!
In this episode I share some of my biggest takeaways from having a membership for a year now which I hope will inspire and guide you if a membership is something that you've been considering.
So here it is.... My top lessons from the past year!
- You will work harder for less money for a while and then things start to change where it feels like you're working less but getting paid more.
- Founders help you establish the culture. Closing the doors for 6 months after launch helped me to establish the culture and ethos of the group that has continued on
- The jury is still out for me on Live Launching vs doors remain open and running promos (you'll have to tune into the ep to hear all the pros and cons!)
- Memberships aren't the be-all and end-all of income for most people when they first launch. It's a long game so be sure you're fit to play it!
- Get crystal clear on your niche and your transformational promise
- Be guarded about keeping the niche fairly narrow if this appeals to you and therefore be sure you're willing to say to clients that it's not suitable for them
- There are some great benefits of having/being in a niched membership (again, tune in to hear allll the pros... personally I don't have any cons for this!)
- Memberships are not suitable for all clients and types of learners
- Memberships definitely don't replace offering 1:1 services!! Group programs are never likely to yield the same client results as 1:1. Be sure your members know this and offer them to work with you 1:1 when they're craving more or uplevelling.
I can honestly say that launching SOULiD is one of the BEST THINGS I've ever done in my career and I don't plan for it to go anywhere anytime soon. I love group coaching and the benefits of group programs.

Simply jump on over to https://sharonjoycoaching.com and follow the prompts to SOULiD®. Until 9pm AEST (Sydney) 30.9.22 you can purchase 5 months and receive your 6th month for free! Save $222 AUD. Ep 44: Creating inclusive & diverse coaching spaces with Louise O'Reilly
Louise O'Reilly is a Warra-Noongar woman creating cultural inclusion, diversity, equity and allyship in business with her profound work. She works with entrepreneurs to develop expansive leadership that creates a positive impact in the world including how to be a true ally for our most marginalised people.
In this insightful, deep and honest conversation, we go places where many wouldn't be brave enough to go. Louise guides us to see the blind spots on the periphery of our culture and society and brings them into focus as she shares painful truths of her lived experience as a First Nations woman, once a child trying to make sense of her world. You will see through the stories she shares that Louise was born to do this work and gain incredible insight into the ways she calls out injustice and guides allies towards a better future for all.
I am a proud member of Louise’s Inclusion Creators Collective Membership and absolutely love the way that Louise guides me and others to unpack their unconscious bias and create safer space. If you're a coach, healer, or consultant, I highly recommend this membership as a place where you can unpack your privilege and reveal unconscious biases with a person of lived experience.
Louise has generally offered Joyous Journeys listeners access to some of her incredible resources via these links and I absolutely recommend that you take her up on it.

Ep 43: The Momentum Myth
In the interest of truth-telling, it's high time that this commonly perpetuated myth gets busted once and for all.
The Momentum Myth- the myth that once we find momentum in our business that we stay in it. Sorry to burst that bubble if you were hoping that the holy grail of momentum is only just around the corner but the truth is, when we are in momentum we don't necessarily stay in full flight forevermore.
In reality, like everything else in life and business, there are cycles.
I want to reassure you though that all is not lost... as your business grows, the likelihood of it coming to a complete standstill is far less likely unless you do. Of course, the longer you're in business, the longer it takes for this to wind down to a complete stop.
In the episode, I talk about some of the reasons why momentum may stall and what to do when it does, as well as a gentle reminder to work on the mindset, that at some stage it sure will stall or feel a bit like wading through mud.
If you'd like some support with the strategies to help you regain momentum during a period of sluggishness then I highly recommend that you join my upcoming 4-Day Clarity Challenge which is starting next Monday 19th of September. If you're finding this after the date, then you can also jump on the waiting list for next time I run the challenge.

Ep 42: Launching & Loving It with Shelley Clarke
If you've ever considered launching an online course and feel like it's so far from reach, this episode is for you!
Shelley is a founding SOULiD® Member and has been a 1:1 Tenacious client for around 6 months. In 2022 she has had the most remarkable acceleration in her business having launched a highly successful podcast, hitting the charts in the first few weeks of launch as well as running her first ever real course launch.
By Shelley's own admission, this time last year this all felt like it was an impossible dream. She would freeze with overwhelm at the thought of all the things that had to be done, all those moving parts and all of the energy and effort required to make it happen.
Fast forward a year and she hardly recognises that person from a year ago. Quite simply, she is not even the same person!
In this episode we unpack the things that have made a difference to her business in order for such rapid growth as well as get the full BTS low-down on the recent launch of her Reclaim program which earned her a very cool $11K... Not bad for a first real launch!
A bit more about Shelley:
Shelley Clarke works supporting parents to understand their child's behaviour and develop rich long-lasting relationships. She is a physiotherapist, CranioSacral Therapist and Parent Educator. She is a Hand in Hand Parenting and Aware Parenting Instructor, passionate about the nervous system, body and helping families thrive. She is a mother to three beautiful children.

Ep 41: 3 Questions to anchor you when you're out at sea
If you're swirling around wondering what to bring forth in your business and even your life, the answers to these 3 questions could hold clues to your next big move.... Whether it be a new offer for your clients, a program launch or even a new business or career direction.
Write them down or save this episode and come back to it as often as you need.
1. What are my biggest streams or potential biggest streams of revenue?
2. What lights me up and brings me the greatest levels joy and impact?
3. What gives me the greatest amount of time freedom and flexibility to suit my life right now?
THEN
Order these 3 things…. Income, Joy, Flexibility according to what’s most important to you in this current season of life. It might be way more important to you to have joy and time flexibility in your business over greater income.
Look for clues in your answers and tune into your soul's whispers.
What rises to the top for you?

Ep 39: Mama Rising® with Amy Taylor-Kabbaz
I was honoured to interview Amy Taylor-Kabbaz. Someone I've followed and whose work I've admired for several years since first meeting her in-person by chance in March 2019.
As a producer with more than 15 years experience at the ABC, Amy brings the research and dedication of a journalist to the passion of an anthropologist and coach. Since 2013, she has trained as an Internationally Accredited Life Coach, Post-Natal Yoga teacher, and Meditation facilitator. With an Honours Degree in International Studies and a Graduate Certificate in International Development focusing on empowering women in the developing world, she has always been focused on women: why the world views them in a particular way, and what they can do about it.
In 2020, Amy created 'Mama Rising', a Facilitator Training program empowering women who work and support mothers around the world in her unique insights into Matrescence, and how to take the research and support mothers differently. In an exciting collaboration, I am the Business + Mindset Coach in the upcoming round of Mama Rising® and will also be a student in the certification which is a recognised coaching training by the International Coaching Federation.
If you're considering moving into the coaching space and will be working with people who birth then I highly recommend you take a look at this fantastic program. Having had the pleasure of business coaching several Mama Rising® alumni, I can attest to the quality and depth of training offered to course participants.

Ep 37: The fastest way to grow your audience & business right now
This one has been brewing in me for some time but it has to be said.... growing an audience right now isn't easy!
Facebook groups don't get the traction they used to and even though they're a great way to grow your reach, even Reels aren't as effective as they were in 2021. Starting from ground zero is a long game.
There is one easy way to grow your audience and your sales right now that is far easier and more effective than content marketing... and it starts with the quality of your connections....
It's collaborations and partnerships!
More than ever before, the company you keep can help you grow as a person and also grow as an entrepreneur.... so choose wisely!
It's beautiful business at it's best! Being a solopreneur can be lonely but having 'colleagues' you can connect and partner with makes you feel like you're not alone on this journey and there are only winners!
I have been fortunate to collaborate with some amazing women who are totally aligned through programs and podcasting which has not only helped me grow as a person but with the added bonus of growing my audience and also my income.
So how does it start....?
In this episode, I share the places I have found aligned collaborators and partners... and "nope!" It didn't start with awkward cold reach-outs.
I'll also outline for you the ways you can go about leveraging these connections to grow your audience and business.
SIDE NOTE - I'm so certain that this is the way forward that I am adding regular networking sessions in my SOULiD® so that my members can connect and see how they may be able to work together.
Unlike many paid business memberships I've been in, I keep the niche of SOULiD® tight... this is no accident! It's so we can go deep within the coaching, healing and parenting, birthing, post-partum and matrescence niche. There are other womxn in there right now ready to collaborate with you .
If you're ready to find genuine connections and partnerships where collaboration reigns over competition, then I invite you to take a look at SOULiD: Solid Business for Soul-Led Womxn®. My low-cost, high-touch business, group coaching container.

Ep 35: How my golf game relates to your business
A recent and spontaneous holiday found me on the golf course pursuing a sport that I've had in my vision for some time now. A sport that represents the time freedom and flexibility that I want to create in my life and business.
Having the time to reflect and ponder on all things life, business and inspiration had me wondering how my strong desire to learn how to play a game that I had only ever really played a handful of times is being spurred on because of my deep belief that even though I'm a pretty ordinary golfer at this point, that in the future I will be good at it.
I started to see a number of anomalies between my golf game and start-up entrepreneurship that I wanted to share with you in this spontaneous episode... much like my holiday.

This episode is for first-time entrepreneurs and those who, like me are still navigating the energetic roller coaster that is entrepreneurship. People who like me, weren't raised in a family of business owners and are now carving their own path in a new career.
Going from being an employee to an entrepreneur is a ride and adjusting to the energetics requires conscious and intentional personal growth.
Some of the tricky things we must navigate as we step into this new identity include
- adjusting to inconsistent income
- Knowing and trusting the ups and downs
- Learning how to unplug from our business - especially when most of the time it feels more like a passion project than a job
- Staying motivated to play the long game
- Selling ourselves
- Learning new things... often on the fly with YouTube as your training ground
and probably one of the biggest ones is...
- learning to expand our capacity to hold this kind of intensity in our body!
There are some things I've found have been most helpful for me on my joyous entrepreneurial journey that have definitely made a difference in accelerating my growth which I share in this episode. I trust that it resonates... Xx

For 20 years Alpha worked in the Accounting and Finance industries.

Ep 30: Where science and spirituality meet with Elodie Joy
My guest in this episode is none other than my client, Elodie Joy of Sunshine Holistic Wellness.
Elodie is a Holistic Counsellor & Life Coach, Reiki Master, Yoga Instructor, Meditation Teacher, Access bars Practitioner, Reflexologist & Registered Nurse.
She is a believer in science and spirituality and in this chinwag, we talk about how those worlds collided for her and her transition from health care to a holistic healer.
We also chat about Elodie's rapid business success since commencing coaching with me. Within 6 months of becoming a client, she left her nursing career and went full-time in her business, dramatically increasing her income and client reach.
I love that Elodie is also a Joy like me and from the very moment she found me on the Gram and became a client, she's been exactly that! An absolutely JOY to work with and someone who is really willing to do the inner and the outer work. Her results are no accident!
I know you'll be inspired not only by Elodie's success but her story from a burnt-out theatre nurse who was questioning the system to an inspirational Holistic Counsellor & Coach who is changing so many lives in her local community of the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, and well beyond!

Ep 29: Steps for Start Up Success
The number 1 thing new clients tell me is that they "don't know how to run a business" and are often stuck swirling with the idea of the HOW to grow a business, unclear of what to do next and where to put their energy and effort.
This results in....
A lack of clarity
Confusion
Being swayed here and there based on free advice they see on social media
No audience growth
No income or income that is inconsistent
No engagement on social media
No email list
Flaky consistency
In this episode, I go into the 8 Clarity Pillars that I recommend to help move your business from the start-up phase (which is likely MUCH longer than you expect - I also speak to this) to the growth phase.
I preface this episode with an unpopular opinion that challenges the anti-step-by-step AKA anti-blueprint brigade. As an experienced educator, this one has been brewing for a while! As always, I'm challenging hard and fast rules to do this or that and instead sitting in the messy middle where there are shades of grey. There are times when step-by-step guidance and blueprints work very well and can help accelerate implementation and there are times when businesses can afford to throw away the script and go for it!... Here's a clue.... early in your business, I don't really recommend it!
This episode gives you some great guidance as to how you can get through the start-up phase by laying solid foundations using my 8 Clarity Pillars.

Ep 28: Flying through the end of financial year
The end of the financial year is a far more exciting time in business for me than the beginning of the calendar year. It's a time when we're usually in full flow in our business and we are super clear about what we want to bring through in the second half of the year.
It's a great time to take stock, to get our financials sorted and plan for the coming financial year.
In this episode you'll hear the 6 easy things that can help you get a head start on the new financial year by lining up your ducks now.
Stepping into being an entrepreneur means prioritising profit and managing your money. If you haven't been across this then ask yourself, "I am ready to make the new financial year my time?"
If the answer is yes then get excited to get across it! I like to gamify my numbers to make it more fun. Meeting them from a place of curiosity and intrigue.
Here are the starting points, more in the episode:
- Get your accounts and receipts in order
- Consider switching to an accounting platform
- Is it time to find a new accountant?
- Consider your business structure
- Do you need to register for GST?
- Invest in professional development this month

Ep 26: 6 Business mistakes I've made
As I step more and more into exploring my Human Design, I realise that part of my purpose is to swirl, to experience and then to report back the lessons and things that I have learned, analysed and found my way through.
The 6 mistakes I share with you in this episode are some of the biggest mistakes that became powerful lessons on my journey. Lessons I was meant to experience to share with you.
Some of these mistakes I don't doubt you too may have also made or perhaps you're currently in the trenches wondering why something isn't working. I hope that this episode sheds some light for you.

Ep 25: The perception effect with Em Gee
In my interview with Business & Mindset Coach Em Gee, we discuss the perception effect, NLP, her recent book & program launch and that suit!
In less than five years as a solo-preneur Em Gee has become a best selling author and international business and mindset coach to women all over the world. Her unwavering belief in all women to shine as leaders in their own fields, has led her to teach 'unstoppability' as a quality already there to be unleashed from within every single business owner she works with.
As a mum of two young girls, Em Gee prides herself on being transparent, authentic and true to her values, all while scaling her business in ways not everyone expects. Thinking out of the box is her style, paving the way for others to do the same and get equally unstoppable results.
Em oozes charisma and fun and I'm so honoured that she's come on to share her gold with us!

Ep 24: Content batching in 4,3,2,1... Done!
Has batching content got you all kinds of blahhh?
Next time you sit down to batch create your social media content, rather than floudering, try this very easy formula...
Simply create:
- 4 x Educational or industry thought leader posts
- 3 x Inspirational, fun or relatable posts
- 2 x Promotional or sales posts
- 1 x Testimonial post
This method is great for when you're not launching (please don't try it when you're launching or it will be a guaranteed flop!).
For more detail on the best Instagram features to use to create each of these posts, jump on over to my blog post that's linked below.
Happy batching!!
Ep 23: Does your calendar reflect your highest values?
How we spend our time reflects our highest values. #readthatagain
How often are you unconsciously living outside of what you truly value if you don't take the time and care to guard your boundaries around time and energy?
Take this golden opportunity to open your calendar and see if how you're using your time is in alignment with your highest values. What do you notice?
When was the last time you wanted to really do something, you had it in your calendar and then you ended up not doing it because someone had a false emergency that you responded to?
Creating boundaries around your time and knowing your highest values in every moment is extremely important for life satisfaction but it's also important in helping you move towards your dream life and business. After all, it's tricky enough building a business with a baby on your hip or around part-time work, school runs and after-school activities. Throw some distraction in their and before your know it you're moving at a snail's pace... or maybe not moving at all.
I want to help you create those boundaries so that you can protect your energy and your precious time. Time is not a finite resource, we can't make more of it, so we have to make the most of what we've got.
In this episode, I give you some help to build those boundaries so you don't get caught off guard unnecessarily. The link below will get you a copy of my Perfect Week Planner right to your inbox then simply follow the steps in the episode.
We can always make more money but we can't make more time. Use it wisely and check in often to be sure that your calendar is always in alignment with your values.
Ep 22: Is the email juice worth the squeeze?
Yep! That old chestnut!
It's hard to believe that this conversation still does the rounds given that email has been proven time and time again to be the highest converting form of digital marketing.
That's largely due to it being so personal in nature and also a way of connecting directly with your audience without having to wrangle with the beast that is the social media algorithm!
Your email list is an asset to your business because unlike your social media following you own it.
If you're not convinced or maybe you are but you'd like some tips on how to get started then this is the episode for you!

Ep 21: Podcasting - Is it worth it? with Nikki O'Brien
This week I interviewed my friend, client and coaching colleague, Podcasting Coach Nikki O'Brien, Quintessential Being about podcasting and whether it's worth it.
As a solo Mama running her own biz, Nikki's personal story + the love she has for storytelling and podcasting will inspire you to let go of the fear and doubt about starting a podcast and inspire you to back yourself.
She covers some great reasons to start a podcast but also acknowledges that it does take time and effort. For those not wanting to start their own, you can leverage other people's podcasts and Nikki talks about how to go about this.
Nikki O’Brien believes the magic of conversation is real… that each unique voice is the cornerstone of facilitating healing, change + transformation.
She calls herself the podcasting priestess working with big-hearted, epic souls to connect more intimately with their audience through podcasting. Her work in the world was a natural progression from an extensive background in media, where as an announcer for community + commercial radio stations across Australia, Nikki entertained, informed + connected with listeners.
She is a deeply curious + spiritual being housed in a delightfully human body. Galvanised by her unique willingness to grow, gather + listen she helps others to fully embrace the self with compassion, love + acceptance.
She’s also the creator of the binge-worthy + wildly successful podcast Quintessential Being, offering fresh perspectives that cultivate awareness + invite acceptance so you can step into wholeness with sovereignty.
Whether you're into podcasting or not, you'll love listening to my inspiring chat with Nikki through our laughter and even a few tears.
Ep 20: Following my calling despite the internal and external critics
Making the leap from a traditional professional to a soul-led business owner in the eyes of many is quite the fall from grace. This has been something I've really had to navigate personally as someone who is a reforming people-pleaser and who has peer rejection trauma making it hard for me to process when I'm not accepted.
I've had to learn how to put on my armor to do the things such as show up online, put myself out there in a way that serves my business and say what I do around certain people without my voice waning. I've had to learn how to follow my calling despite the blatant and covert criticism I've received from others and from the internal dialogue that has had me question time and time again if I should continue.
I've watched female coaches who work mostly in a masculine coaching construct praised within traditional business circles, seen as being a legit business - and that's largely by other women btw! Yet on the contrary, I've been ignored when opportunities presented themselves with said friends even working the room to ensure that I'm denied of opportunities to share my gifts and body of work.
I've had said friends in the patriarchal business world make comments to publicly belittle and patronise me about my qualifications and one even implying that compared to traditional professions that I have plenty of time on my hands to fluff around online. (insert eye roll!)
I've had to overcome the internal turmoil that my work isn't always accepted but it's my calling and that by not following this calling Im not living in alignment with my deepest desires. This has been a hard one for me and I'm going to be completely honest and say that it's still a work in progress.
If you’re feeling conflicted about making the leap into the next phase of what you want, it’s likely that very few people will really back you. Sorry if that's a #spoileralert but I'm also guessing that you've likely already come to know this to be true.
But don’t let that stop you.
Don’t take it as a sign that you won’t succeed or that this isn’t for you. You have to back you first and foremost.
Here are my best tips for following your calling despite the internal and external critics...
- Back yourself first. Be willing to invest in your development and in your business. Be savvy, there will be mistakes but the sooner you interpret them as a positive, the sooner you move towards your dream.
- Get help with overcoming mindset blocks using techniques such as NLP, EFT, energy healing, whatever it takes! You won't eradicate them completely but you'll have a better process for working through and dealing with them when they do!
- Find an aligned community that you can join. Women on the same path as you and ideally at similar points on their journey to. There are loads of people you can follow and connect with who are ahead of you on the path to lead and guide you but having the comradarie in invaluable.
- Let others off the hook... your family and friends DON"T have to cheer you on. They don't have to agree with your new path. No expectations = no disappointment. It's often those closest to us who have the most fear for us and want to protect us. They also might not like the change that we are undertaking and are grieving.

Ep 19: Tech mindset tips for business growth
How's your relationship with technology?
For most of my clients, it's one of the main things that they wrestle with on the daily.
Having the right tech hardware and apps is a great start for creating ease and flow in business but having the right tech mindset is what's really going to see you grow your business faster. Having your tech set up properly is also critical!
As entrepreneurs, we do hard things... often. We do things that stretch and challenge us in new ways and embrace the learning that we receive along the way. That means that we know that there is a Youtube how-to video for everything and a Facebook support group for whichever popular application we choose.
Not upgrading systems or investing in new technologies or a fully functional website is likely slowing your business down. Tradies can't work without the right tools, and neither can digital entrepreneurs. They can also be a great way to save time and money by bringing automation into your business.
Being across it will allow you to outsource more confidently, putting you in the picture to call the shots knowing that things are as they should be - again saving time and money.
SIGNS YOUR TECH IS HOLDING YOU BACK
- You spend a lot of time trying to access apps and get the spinning wheel of death on screen
- Your laptop is more than 3 years old if a PC or 6 years old if it's a Mac
- Your phone is more than 3 years old
- You spend a lot of time on repetitive tasks (sending the same emails, onboarding/offboarding etc)
- Clients have difficulty accessing your programs or booking links etc
- Your calendars aren't talking seamlessly between each other
- You have analysis paralysis every time you go to start something techy and get stuck
Tech is covered in the 7th SOULiD Pillar, being the CONTINGENCY Pillar. We spend a lot of time during fortnightly coaching calls talking about tech systems in my SOULiD™ Membership, helping coaches and healers in the early stages of their soul-led business to get their tech sorted so be sure to check SOULiD™ out via the links below.
You can also grab a free copy of my 'Systems in your biz continuum' outlining which systems you need now, which systems you may change to in the future and the systems I recommend and when it might be time to implement them.
If you're still at odds with tech, make some love to it! There may be times where tech is a headache but spend time shifting to a positive tech mindset and ironing out the techno kinks will mean make your life and business so much easier in the long run and best of all, will see your business growing faster!

Ep 18: Let's talk about pain points
Let's talk about pain points for a bit, shall we?
So often in the coaching, healing and wellness industry, I hear talk on both sides of the fence about selling to pain points... the good, the bad, and the ugly.
Now, I'm not here to dis anyone or make them feel bad for the way that they may have marketed in the past. Heck, I've had some shockers over the years! What I really want, is to challenge some of the ideologies that you may have heard or maybe even implemented in your business yourself.
There are 2 main, vocal camps:
- The pain-point sellers: whose selling strategy focuses only on the pain points of their audience
- The pain-point rejecters: whose selling strategy focuses only on the inspiration and desires of their audience.
I want to propose that there's a strong need to sit somewhere in the middle and address both frustrations and desires.
The pain-point sellers take no prisoners. They go all-in on driving the knife and giving it twist. The pain-point rejectors are the love and lighters of marketing, emotionally bypassing their audience's frustrations.
I say it often, and I'll say it again. You get to run your business in a way that is in alignment with your soul. If that means using either of these strategies then I'm not here to tell you to do things differently. I'm all for strategies that work and both of these do.
What I am here for though is to encourage you to take a step back and witness your ideal clients in their wholeness. And by that I mean really seeing them. Seeing their frustrations, seeing their desires, seeing their pain and seeing their pleasure. Taking the time to deepen your relationship with your audience by understanding them more deeply and more wholely.
When you take the time to do this, you can take a step further by creating content that speaks to ALL of your client. Their desires and their frustrations. Try it on for size and see how it feels. I promise that you can do it in a soulful way.... just like writing and talking to a best friend when they share their struggles with you. You'll find the words and to your soulmate client, it will be music to their ears.
It's important to remember that your ideal client isn't going to buy from you just because you marketed to them. They were already searching for inspiration or for a solution to their problem. Seeing all of them will validate their wants AND their woes and create a soulful connection between you and the right people.
If you'd like to spend some time sitting with the pleasure and the pain points of your ideal clients, my Notes to Niching Workbook will guide you to dive deeper. You can grab your copy at http://sharonjoycoaching.com/clients
Ep 17: The importance of a clear vision + how to get one
Have you ever been told to get clear on your vision and then been left wondering why and how?
I know that's how I felt right at the beginning of my personal development journey. I was asked to throw down my vision so I declared some big audacious dreams, only to find myself feeling like I was a complete failure when I wasn't hitting any of them.
Was I doing it all wrong? Hell No!
I had proven by that stage that I was already a master manifester, having manifested many wonderful things in my life, such as landing a full-time teaching job straight from uni, buying my first home at 21, marrying my soul mate, getting promotions at work, new cars, nice caravans, the list goes on!
Turns out that I was better at getting clear and manifesting than I thought!
So what was different? The gap I noticed was when I had previously been on a manifesting mission, I had clear DREAMABLE GOALS and I had clear DOABLE GOALS.
My more distant vision or 'dreamable' goals may have felt like pie in the sky at the time, but I was bolstering them with smaller, more 'doable' goals which edged me closer to my more distant desires. With the fulfillment of each doable goal, I was able to eventually bring dreamable goals within reach.
Without clarity, none of this would have been possible. Knowing where we want to head provides us with a mud map with a path on which we can start to take our first steps. The destination may not necessarily end up where we expect but with each forward step, we have a chance at getting closer to bring our vision to life. Our clear vision also spurs on our motivation so that we are able to continue on with increased levels of ease and joy despite some of the bumps along the way.
Intentionally applying strategies to help me to get clearer sooner has afforded me quantum leaps in manifesting visions.
Here are some of my favourites:
- Spending time daydreaming, simply taking time out on a regular basis to just be with my thoughts and dreams
- Write down what my perfect day looks like
- Take micro-steps by looking at the small things that I can change in my current reality that will put me that bit closer to achieving what I desire
- Knowing my personal values and my gifts
No matter what journey you're on, having a clear vision of what you truly desire and being clear about taking the next step is only going to result in more powerful manifestation of your dreamable goals.

Ep 15: To Niche of Not?
I’ll put my hand up and say that I had a serious case of FOND…. FEAR OF NICHING DOWN!
Fear of being put in a box
Fear of making a declaration
Fear of commitment
Fear that if you don't talk to everyone that you won’t get enough clients (#helloscarcitystory!)
Fear that what if the people you say you’re for don’t come!
I eventually had the epiphany that not niching was costing me more than it afforded me!
I was pretty much for anyone and everyone and not willing to make a promise about what I was going to do for my clients…. And I expected them to pay me!?
I want you to know that there is NOTHING WRONG with having resistance towards niching AT ALL.
I’ve been there.
I encourage every single new soulful businesswoman to test who they’re for, the results they’re achieving with their clients and their message before committing to any of this stuff.
So, how did I know when it was time?
I found myself working with clients who weren’t fully aligned. It wasn’t lighting me up. The timing was off, they were at a different point on their journey compared to the women I was making huge gains with. They felt frustrated and so did I. I wanted to call in more of the same clients who lit me up and who were at the point in their journey where I knew I was able to help them make radical transformation.
I was finding it harder to produce content because I wasn’t sure what to say or who I was talking to. Everything felt random and loose. Zero clarity, zero strategy and therefore zero alchemy. (The universe doesn’t deliver unless we know exactly what we’re asking for and take some action!)
I was dropping offers left, right and centre. Spaghetti flying everywhere and I felt like a hamster on a never-ending spinning wheel.
Sound familiar?
You’ve had enough clients now to know A. Who you have the most impact on and B. What that impact actually is. You are ready to make a solid commitment to call in more of THOSE people.
So why not shout it from the rooftops to call in even MORE people just like them?
In this episode I give you some tips about how to do just that. If you’d like to deep dive a little further, jump on over to my website to grab your Notes to Niching workbook to help you refine who you are and your message. sharonjoycoaching.com/clients

Ep 14: Throwing Spaghetti at Walls and Unicorns
We've all been there at some point, right?.... Throwing spaghetti at the wall that it is, not the unicorn bit.
I'm definitely not a unicorn and have had my fair share of hurling Italy's favourite dish!
In this episode I give you some steps to take inspired action as we prepare to round out the last quarter of the financial year.
Here's a cheatsheet for those who want to cut to the chase...
Set aside a few hours sometime in the next couple of weeks to sit with a texta & some butchers paper (personally that's how I like to roll... it's the teacher in me!) and ASK YOURSELF these questions reflecting on the the first 3 months of the year...
What is working?
What is not working?
Where do I want to be in the next 3 months?
What are my goals for the next 3 months?
Who will I serve in the next 3 months?
How will I serve them? What are my soul-led offerings?
How will I call them in powerfully and soulfully?
How will I grow my audience?
I have places for 5 women to w#Transcend with me, 1:1 over the next 6 weeks. DM me now for the deets.
Ep 13: The Journey of us - 20 years of marriage
Today is our 20th Wedding Anniversary and last Saturday, we said “We STILL do” in the week that we also 28 years of companionship.
It’s a long time, right?! And we are still madly in love and HAPPY!
We are often asked what our secret is. Aside from saying that we are soul mates, I’d have to say that one of the ways we have continued to keep on living and loving is through ensuring that our life is inspired and soul driven.
There have been many pivotal moments but one that definitely stands out is our Fifty by 50 list… a bucket list of sorts, fifty things to do by the age of 50. We wrote it to commemorate Adam’s 40th birthday.
When I think about why it was so impactful I reflect on what I’ve observed in so many couples in the midlife… they become so entrenched in parenting, work, commitments that they lose a sense of their own identity firstly and then also as a couple.
We have found something truly magical about the midlife. It’s when we’ve found the courage to follow our hearts desire and make some big bold moves. In doing so we maintain a commitment to personal and professional development, health and wellbeing, joy and above all else put ourselves and each other first.
In this episode I interview my husband Adam in a candid walk down memory lane to retell the journey of us.
Ep 12: Hello Autumn! The season to shed and mature your business.
Autumn is the season that reminds us that there is only one constant and that is change.
It's as good as a holiday, right?
So let's talk about the things that might be worth changing up in our business in order to help our business growing up.
In this episode I share the things I've been shedding which has brought about beautiful growth, ease, and flow as we enter this new season that is, in many cultures recognised as the season of maturity and also shedding.

Turns out that was COMPLETE BS!
In this podcast I share a different story that some other women shared with me about their personal life that actually lit the spark back in me!

Wellness is HUGE part of my life having been on my own personal wellness journey.
In 2018 I founded Wandering Wellness Collective with the idea of allowing people to focus on all aspects of wellness, really leaning into a holistic approach to wellness!
I love supporting others on their journey of holistic wellness, sharing my personal experiences and knowledge.
Wellness can be so complex but it can also be so simple as well. By addressing all areas of wellness we can improve our overall vitality and our wellbeing.
Most people relate wellness to just solely the physical aspects alone but in this podcast I dive into the 7 core areas of wellness;
Social, Emotional, Physical, Spirital, Environmental, Intellectual and Occupational.
If you are trying to bring back the buzz you need to be working on these areas, join me as we break these 7 core areas of wellness down.
Bring Back the Buzz: Getting Clear
Life gets busy! It doesn't mean we have to toss our dreams to the wall... it means tuning in more often to them so our GPS is on track.
As we age, it's easy to forget to spend time daydreaming about what we really want our life to look like. The more often we can check back in with our desires and breathe life into them, the more likely we are to be living a life that is in alignment with what we really want.
For a long time, when asked the question 'What's your why?" I struggled to answer. I felt like I had to say things like "So I can be around more for kids" but I didn't feel the rush of motivation that should have come behind. The more often I tuned in, the more I realised that what moves me is travel and making happy memories with my family. I encourage you to listen in to this episode where I give you some tips on how you can reveal what you really want and swing you into action to follow them.
Bring Back the Buzz: Self Care
There are 7 key ways that I have done that have helped me to bring about transformational change.
The first and most important starts with me... Self Care.
Tired to Inspired: My journey here
Some moments in life are like light bulbs. All of a sudden we can see the path ahead so much clearer than we ever have.
Some of my more profound moments include the passing of my mother from Ovarian Cancer when I was 20 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child and the time my husband Adam and I decided to create a #Fiftyby50 bucket list, 50 things to do/be/have before the age of 50. That little list inspired a complete life transformation, starting with a little blog called Galways Go Round.
That little blog gave us so much inspiration that it still plays out in our lives every single day.
In this episode I share my own personal journey from tired to inspired.
I share my story because I know how lifechanging the sharing of stories can be... and we all have one. Sharing mine and my family's story has not only changed the lives of others (that still blows me away but I know it's true!) BUT it's also continue to improve the quality of my life. Lifting me to higher and higher heights.
There is absolutely nothing extraordinary about what I've done. I just chose to do it instead of staying stuck.
Do I still get stuck and feel tired? YES! I'm human! But choosing to live a life where the theme is inspiration sure beats living a life where the theme is mediocre.
I hope my story inspires you
