Looking for free shoes and clothing in Augusta?
First Mount Moriah Baptist Church is hosting the Spare a Pair initiative Saturday, December 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2040 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Augusta. Pastor Daniel Foster III says attendees can expect new and lightly used shoes and clothing for all ages, along with essential items like diapers, wipes, and toiletries.
The initiative began after Pastor Foster noticed people attending church without shoes. He and his fiancée started the program to address this need by collecting and distributing donated items.
The event will serve 200 to 300 individuals, including those in homeless shelters. Volunteers are still needed to help sort and set up items.
