If you ask most people why we breathe , they'll say,"to bring in oxygen". It's commonly believed that only oxygen is required for our health and that carbon dioxide is just a waste gas. The truth is that carbon dioxide is just as important as oxygen. This episode explains what carbon dioxide does and why an optimal level is critical to health.
Why I do what I do.
My dental and medical history helps to explain my passion to provide integrative dental care. It's 2019 and we must recognize the importance of nasal breathing and proper mid face and upper airway development.
WHAT EVERY PARENT SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CRANIOFACIAL GROWTH AND AIRWAY DEVELOPMENT
Facial and airway development starts at birth and is on an accelerated growth curve. This development is dependent upon the neuromuscular cues from the actions of breastfeeding. Parents and medical professionals need to be pro-active, not reactive, by facilitating conditions for easy breastfeeding. This may include identification and release of lip and tongue ties immediately after birth.
