Growing your Self Worth
Listen to my interview with Smaranda Maier who became aware of her own lack of self worth in her mid 30s and wasn't feeling fulfilled. She was able to track this feeling back to childhood and having a sense of not feeling good enough which impacted a lot of her life including her career and relationships.
Growing her self-worth started with an act of bravery where she divorced and became a single parent. She knew for certain she was doing the right thing and that it was the best decision for her and her son to be able to move forward.
Part of her self-development work was to reparent herself. Journaling has been her biggest tool to reparent by helping her to let go of old unhelpful stories and continually remind herself that she is good enough. She notices that many of her clients struggle to name their feelings, which she sees as an important first step in developing self-worth. Again she sees journaling as a great tool to help with this.
