[Ep. 80 Mystical] Not Saying It's Crystals, BUT She Does Have A Straight Spine
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are getting to cover the topic: mystical! The drink this time around was red wine, and while at the store Skylar was tempted by a holiday themed bottle. So that's what we are drinking to celebrate the first episode in December!
Brittany didn't have a topic this week, her brain wouldn't let her focus, she's terribly sorry. So we just chit-chat for a bit in the beginning. If you'd like to move right along to Skylar's segment, you'll want to skip the first 20/25ish minutes.
Skylar talks about one of her favorite practicing tools: crystals! She goes over 10 of the best crystals for beginners and their properties/uses. Also, since she's Skylar, she sprinkles in actual science with her whimsy. So if you are a crystal girlie but also enjoy some good science facts, this is the one for you!
**Also, please don't replace medicine/therapy/common sense with crystals!
As always, thanks so much for listening! If you enjoy us enough to share or recommend us to a friend, we would love you that much more!

[Ep.79 History/Just Chatting] Surprise A/B/O & A Very Sturdy Feline
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are talking about history while drinking white wine! Well, Brittany is going to talk about history this week, Skylar might not have an actual segment this week, but that's okay because we are great at vamping. So the episode is more like a 'just chatting' with a little bit of history in the middle somewhere. We are both drinking a pinot grigio.
Brittany talks about the best, in her opinion, figure from WWll: Unsinkable Sam. If you aren't familiar with the legend, Unsinkable Sam is a cat, sometimes known as Oskar, who survived multiple ship sinkings during WWll. There's also some talk about animals during war time in general during her section, and this is really just a cute little tale about a cat.
Skylar promises to redeem herself next week! She does chit-chat some about the crazy shows she is currently watching. We talk about AP high-school classes, how neither of us used to sleep when we were younger, and more random things like that!
As always, thanks so much for listening! If you enjoy us enough to share or recommend us to a friend, we would love you that much more!

[Ep.78 Movies] The Chaotic Creative Process & Bizarre Celeb Cameos
This week we are talking about a movie while drinking a pick of Brittany's choosing. She had some peach seltzer leftover from a family get-together, so that's what we're drinking this week. While sipping on these we discuss the movie: Begin Again.
Begin Again is a comedy drama that focuses on two going through a rough patch in their life, who happen to have a chance encounter and begin a promising collaboration.
The movie was written and directed by John Carney. It stars Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo. It was released in 2013 and received 5 award wins and 18 nominations. Including an Oscar nomination for 'Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Song' for the song "Lost Stars". This is a very 'chill' movie that is big on vibes, but very enjoyable to watch. Especially if you like movies that revolve around music and the creative process.
**Spoiler warning, if you have not seen this movie and would like it to not be ruined for you**

[Ep.77 Culture, Travel, & Language] Don't Try To Find Us Because We'd Rather Be In France
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are back on our couch classroom to hopefully teach you a few things. It's actually as if we are both back in our high school classrooms this week! So get your notebooks ready! We are going to be doing this while sipping on some white wine.
Brittany is going to discuss some facts, knowledge, legends, etc. about France. France is obviously a very historical, important, and timely country so Brittany's section is a very, very light dive into some cultural aspects. There's some art talk, religion talk, and the always important discussion of if 'french fries' are actually french. There's also a little talk about a few travel destinations. (We're also not going to talk about how she said 'philosophers' in this episode...it's already haunting her nightmares.)
Skylar is going to touch very lightly on some important but basic french sayings, terms, and pronunciation. Skylar's section is a little shorter than what she normally tries to do in these episodes, but French is a language she learned so long ago and is so familiar with that it was hard to determine what to start with. So just keep that in mind, but we may always dive deeper in the future!
Skylar would like to remind everyone that she is by no means an expert or an official teacher. She is simply someone who loves to learn, loves to share her passions, and loves languages. As we are both just trying this episode to teach ourselves more about the world, and hopefully you as well, we are completely open and willing to learning more on the subject, or if there are any corrections anyone might have to share with us.
As always, thanks so much for listening! If you enjoy us enough to share or recommend us to a friend, we would love you that much more!

[Ep.76 Paranormal] Vacation Spots to Hell & A Man Ruins it All
Welcome back to another episode!
This week, in the perfect way to end spooky season, we get to talk about Paranormal! A topic we haven't spun since the premier of this season. It was Brittany's turn to pick drinks this week and she went with Bloody Mary's.
At one point before Brittany's section Skylar mentioned this tiktoker:
We also re-discussed some about Palestine and ways you can help. So we will be providing links to different twitter threads down below:
You can click the link in this thread to donate instantly, it's one of the easiest ways to help!

A link to information on what is happening
**Please note: some of these have links that are for donations to help, but as discussed in the episode all of the donations are being blocked. There are many other ways to help though and we urge you to look into our links provided or look for resources and ways to help on your own!
Free Palestine!
Brittany talks about a couple of popular theorized "Gates to Hell". Hell gates are said to be all over the world and each one has many stories and lore surrounding it. She talks about one in Louisiana and the Czech Republic.
In her section, Skylar talks about the haunting of the Lake Club ghost! This is the ghost of Rudy Cranor who was a bartender at the club. He seems like a perfectly lovely ghost who was maybe just a little prank-y and then a man came and ruined it all.

[Ep.75 Cooking] The Pathwork Edited Episode Thanks To The Failure of The Audacity Program
Once again we find ourselves back in the kitchen! Brittany was in charge of the meal this time so we are cooking a mushroom stroganoff. While cooking this, we sip on a nice earthy pinot noir.
**Please note, that while editing this episode the audio program we have used since the beginning of this podcast, decided to just drop half of our audio when we were listening back to it to edit it?? This is extremely frustrating as we had to very sloppily edit this into something but it's not at all what this episode should have been.
Topics you missed out on:
-a lengthy A03 discussion, as well as Skylar's process and history with writing fanfiction, as well as her two A03 alias's
-2 separate conversations about the horrible things that are happening in Palestine and what you can do to help. *we were going to attach some links here for donation sites, but these have all become blocked from getting to the people that need it, so instead we encourage you to look into what is happening, share on social media, be as loud as you can. It could help more than you think!
-an insane, but important census story that involved Skylar's family
-Brittany's fighting with her oven and burning the garlic bread, TWO separate times
-Pretty much our entire conversation while eating our meal
-Tattoo talk
-Brittany described the show 'Hot Ones' to Skylar
-what makes stroganoff what it is
-our spin for next week as well as our normal outro
**It's pretty fair to say we are pissed about this (this episode should have been 2.5 hours long) so not only does it feel like our time was wasted, but you should have gotten a better episode. Because it was! We had some really fun conversations as well as some really honest and deep ones.
We are going to be looking into new ways to record going forward, so if you have any program suggestions, please send them our way.
**This was recorded while we were actually cooking/eating this meal, so there are many sounds you might hear in a kitchen setting. Therefore, there may be some jarring bangs, clangs, and hisses. If you are sensitive to sudden sounds, please keep this in mind. There's also some dog and cat noises.
As always, thanks for listening!

[Ep.74 True Crime(not really though)] The Departure of 'True Crime' & The Intro of 'Fake Crime'
Welcome to another episode!
This week the drink was Skylar's choice and the topic was true crime! This week Skylar decided to go with a vanilla bourbon with diet coke. It was mostly bourbon, but it was good!
This episode might be weird for everyone, and it might even be disappointing for some, but in this episode we explain why we are getting rid of the 'True Crime' category on our wheel.
The short of it is, this is our podcast and we've always wanted it to mainly be just fun for us. As popular as 'true crime' is for a lot of listeners to different podcasts it was not a fun category for us. We got really bummed out each time the category was spun, and we have decided that's not something we want to do anymore for our own personal enjoyment and for the fact that we struggle with the morality of even covering it as a topic in the first place.
Our replacement idea was maybe we cover 'fake crime' so for example, crimes that happen in tv shows and movies, or in books. That way, they do not affect any real life people and it could still be fun and probably crazy because we each consume vastly different genres of media.
We unfortunately didn't really come into this episode prepared, so you get our reasonings for why we are saying goodbye to true crime and then it just becomes a bit like a 'just chatting' episode. However, we do both talk about two different things that involve crimes so there's that. Brittany talks about the crazy book she just finished and Skylar goes into a tangent about the current show she is watching that drives her up the wall.
As always, thanks so much for listening! If you enjoy us enough to share or recommend us to a friend, we would love you that much more!

[Ep.73 People] You Can't Have My Skin & Birds, Birds Everywhere!
Welcome to another episode!
We are back from our accidental 'summer break', these things happen but we are happy to be back! This week we are sipping on some white wine and talking about people! (Formerly the category: creators/creatives)
Brittany is talking about English actor: Neil Newbon. He is a professional actor and voice over artist and has worked in film, TV, theater, and in high-profile AAA video games in full performance capture. Best known for his work in Detroit: Become Human, Resident Evil Village, and Baldur's Gate 3.
Skylar is talking about American actor, musician, and first love of her life: River Phoenix. River's first notable role was in the film Stand by Me in 1986 and he went on to have many memorable roles and had a promising career ahead of him, but tragically died at the age of 23.

[Ep.72 Psychology] Failing Erikson's Stages: The Podcast
This week we are in Skylar heaven because the topic is psychology and the drink is white wine, two of her favorites! There's a fair bit of chit-chat in the beginning this week, as usual, but if you want to just skip to the actual topic you'll want to skip to about the 21 minute mark.
This week's episode might be a little on the shorter side, and you can blame Brittany for that. She actually doesn't have a topic this week, so it'll be just one topic..kinda. (We're us, so of course we babble on about some other topics).
Skylar covers a very small portion of Developmental Psych. This is actually a topic she's wanted to cover for a while now, but has been saving it for a psychology episode. We just seem to spin this topic less than the others! Of course, Developmental Psych is a big topic, so she is actually only going to go over the two main theories associated with it.

[Ep.71 Random] The Bisexual, Poly, Literary Queen of Sci-Fi & Skylar Teaches A College Course..No Really..
Welcome to another episode!
This week we got to choose literally whatever we wanted to talk about because we got the topic 'random' and once again: we're quite random. We also finally got to drink something good this week, because we got red wine! Brittany is drinking a Cabernet and Skylar is enjoying a Pinot Noir.
Brittany is stepping away from folklore this go around, and instead talking about one of the literary OG's. Mary Shelley was an English novelist, most notably known as the author of Frankenstein. What you might not know though, is that her life was actually kinda crazy, and we are here to talk about some of it!
We joke a lot about Skylar teaching college courses on the pod, but this time it just may very well be the honest truth of it. She came in with a whopping 36 pages of notes for her topic this week: Ethics. This is a topic she has been working on covering for a while now, so she was very excited and so happy to finally be able to. For context, we've never had notes that are that long before, so be ready for a long section. She was very factual, informative, and withheld any bias in her segment, so it's a good one if you are curious about Ethics as a whole.

[Ep.70 Random] Fighting The Plague in The Denny's Parking Lot & Malicious Inanimate Objects
Welcome to another episode!
This week we got to choose literally whatever we wanted to talk about because we got the topic 'random' and boy, did we deliver on the random aspect. We, unfortunately, also had to drink something we dislike. Brittany is sipping on a root beer with whiskey, and Skylar is (not)enjoying a root beer sans whiskey.
This week for random, Brittany is once again talking about some folklore. This time, focusing on a Norwegian folktale about the personification on the black plague. This topic came to her thanks to Brittany and Skylar recently playing and finishing the game Bramble: The Mountain King over on the YouTube channel.
Myths & Microbes The Evergreeen Post
Skylar is once again going to teach us all a bit of something that would be taught in a college course. This time, she talks about Murphy's Law! You may think you know what Murphy's Law is, but we bet you do not know a lot of the chaos behind it's origins.

[Ep.69 Movies] Wet Suede & Full-Volume Laptops Without Headphones
This week we are talking about a movie while drinking something that we do not like, yay. Skylar is drinking a mango habanero cider (she does not like spicy things) and Brittany is drinking a cotton candy wine (she does not like overly sweet things). While, unfortunately, sipping on these we discuss the movie: Palm Springs.
Palm Springs is a Sci-FY romantic comedy from 2020. While stuck at a wedding in Palm Springs our nihilistic male lead meets the maid of honor and draws her into his offbeat world where he thinks nothing really matters. The two embrace this idea throughout the movie and they begin wreaking spirited havoc on the wedding celebration.
The film was directed by Max Barbakow and was written by Andy Siara and Max Barbakow. The movie stars Andy Samberg, Cristin Milioti, J.K. Simmons, and Peter Gallagher. The film was nominated for 45 different awards, and won 15 of them, including the award for the Critics Choice Super Award for best Science Fiction/Fantasy Movie. Palm Springs is a Hulu original film full of humor, heart, and quite a few surprises. This was a fun and easy to watch movie that we really enjoyed, and think you would enjoy as well!
**Spoiler warning, if you have not seen this movie and would like it to not be ruined for you**
**Trigger warning for some themes in this movie that we do discuss in the episode: drugs and suicide.

[Ep.68 Music] A Flowing River of A Man & A Very Obvious Fae
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are here to talk about one of our favorite topics, music, while we sip on something we like. Skylar had leftover mango White Claw from last time, so she is enjoying that while Brittany is sipping on one of her staples, which is a gin and tonic.
Donald McKinley Glover Jr., also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, is an American actor, comedian, singer, rapper, writer, director, and producer.
Brittany talks about Donald Glover Jr., also known by his stage name: Childish Gambino. Donald is an American actor, comedian, singer, rapper, writer, director, and producer. He does anything and everything it seems. Which means, her segment is a little longer this time. It's also full of lots of information, so strap in, because it's a lot to get through. We are now 100% convinced Donald does not sleep. He is a very talented man, and there was so much we learned about him. *Note: Brittany was apparently having a horrible time with words this recording, so be prepared for that I guess.
Skylar finally talks about one of her favorite musicians: Hozier. Andrew John Hozier-Byrne is an Irish musician, singer, and songwriter. His music draws from folk, soul, and blues and is often full of religious and literary themes. We're sure everyone in the world knows the song "Take Me To Church", and we're so glad for that because we love Hozier on this podcast and love getting to talk about people we enjoy! Skylar did a very good job at holding in her tangents on the topic, but as always, you get her list of favorite songs at the end of her section. (Spoiler: it's every single Hozier song. Because he's amazing.)

[Ep.67 History] A Horrible 1800s Privileged Influencer & The Anti Milk
Welcome to another episode!
This week we get to talk a little about some history and we get to do this while drinking something we like. Skylar is enjoying a lovely mango white claw and Brittany is combining two things she likes to see if they work together. It was a fad for a while on TikTok to combine red wine and diet coke, so she thought she would try it.
We talk a bit more in the beginning since we haven't recorded in a few weeks, so feel free to skip the first 25-ish minutes if you don't want the chit-chat.
Brittany talks about a rarely discussed moment in history involving James Jameson, heir to Jameson Irish Whiskey, and an unspeakable crime that he may or may not have committed. Giving the time frame of the incident and that there are varying accounts of the ordeal, we may never actually know what led to this terrible event that occurred. It DID happen though, and she talks about a few of the main variations of the event.
Trigger warnings for this section include: slavery, racism, child abuse, and cannibalism
All That's Interesting Article
Skylar then goes on to talk about another not so happy event in history. She discusses The Radium Girls, who were female factory workers that contracted radiation poisoning from painting watch dials in the early 1900s. These girls, and many others, suffered due to careless factory conditions and people in charge but they were able to use their circumstances to make a change and fight back some.

[Ep.66 Cooking] An Aquarius, An Aries, and A Scorpio Make Some Chili
Welcome back for another episode and let's get this out of the way early: this episode is chaotic!
Once again we find ourselves back in the kitchen! This time with a guest! Skylar's brother Bret is home on leave from Japan and decided to join us. Skylar was in charge of the meal this time so we are cooking a White Bean Chicken Chili. While cooking this, we sip on some white wine.
We don't really have any specific topics we are mostly just chit-chatting. There's some light arguing, picking on each other, sibling things, etc. As mentioned above, it's just pretty chaotic and an hour of the recording was cut so you can just imagine what you missed.

[Ep.65 True Crime] Couch Curl Time & The Audacity of Florida Man
Welcome to another episode!
This week the drink was Brittany's choice and the topic was true crime! Brittany decided to go with an iced 'hot toddy' since it sorta ties into her segment, and it was also a weirdly warm day here. As always with us, if you want to skip our beginning chit-chat you are going to want to skip ahead about 20 minutes! Sorry, we don't know how to shut up and this is usually how it goes here!
Brittany talks about The Urantia Book, which is a religious text that claims to be from aliens and is essentially a cult. (It literally uses the word 'cult' in the book, so..) It's a very bizarre text with very bad beliefs. She also talks about how this cult has ties to a very popular tea brand. America's number 1 tea company, to be exact. It seems that not a lot of people are aware of this connection, but this cult has again, very not good beliefs and more people should be aware of these things. Not claiming anything about the tea company itself, just talking about some of it's lesser known origins.
Trigger warnings for: racism, race eugenics, cults, religion, etc.
Skylar goes in a lighter direction this week and tells a few different 'Florida Man' crime accounts. She originally did these "notes" when she was without a computer and was also during a very busy work time period for herself. Therefore, her section is more like a 'narration' of these crimes, as she is just reading different articles from Buzzfeed. They will be linked below if you want to see them for yourself!
Trigger warnings for: Florida I guess

[Ep.64 Movies] Sex & Armpit Drugs
This week we are talking about a movie while drinking something that Brittany picked. Brittany wanted to sort of match the drink to the movie so we are sipping on a a French 75 with a twist. This drink is made up of prosecco and gin like a normal French 75, but instead of lemon juice and simple syrup, Brittany made a mixed berry syrup since the movie is kinda fruity and also french. While sipping on that, we talked about the movie: Portrait of a Lady on Fire.
Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a French film from 2019. In the eighteenth century, a female painter, Marianne, is hired to paint a wedding portrait of a young woman, Heloise, who does not what to sit for the painting, since she does not want to go through with the wedding. The two grow closer during their time together on an isolated island in Brittany.
The film was written and directed by Celine Sciamma and stars Noemie Merlant, Adele Haenel, Luana Bajrami, and Valeria Golino. The movie was nominated and won many different awards including the Queer Palm award at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Making it the first film directed by a woman to win this award. This is a very beautiful and bittersweet movie. It has little dialogue and instead relies heavily on body language, tension, and emotional expression. If you are a fan of arty films, foreign films, or just want to look at gorgeous cinematography with a lovely storyline, we think you might like this one! We sure did.

Mainly through her very popular 'Bad Makeup Science' series, which involves her destroying beauty products and then combining them together to create "Franken" products.

[Ep. 61 Mystical] No Random Children & Good Witch? Bad Witch? Why Not Both Witch?
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are getting to cover the topic: mystical! The drink this week was 'a drink we like' so Skylar is drinking a white wine blend and Brittany is having a diet coke with some coconut rum and banana liqueur. This week's episode is a little shorter than normal, but it's still a fun one!
Brittany talks some of the legendary witch: Baba Yaga. Baba Yaga is a figure featured heavily in Slavic folklore and fairy tales. She is known as a sort of 'bogey-woman' since it's claimed that she likes to eat children. She also resides in the woods in a hut that stands on chicken's feet and walks around. There is a lot more to her than meets the eye though, and in a weird way she can be seen as a feminist witch for women and we love her for that.

[Ep.60 Paranormal] In The Arms of The Mothman & Sims Style Devil Age-Up
WE ARE BACK! It's season 3 loves!
We are kicking this season off very similarly to how this whole thing started, with Paranormal! This time around though, we get to drink a drink that we like. Brittany is drinking a gin & tonic, naturally. Skylar is sipping on a strawberry cider (mainly because she forgot the drink and Brittany had some in her fridge)... Since this is the first time we have seen each other in a while there is quite a lot of opening banter. If you would prefer to skip all of our nonsense, you are going to want to skip ahead to the 20 minute mark. You will be missing some holiday tales & bunk-bed slander. As well as two anecdotes of Skylar's mom wildin'.
Brittany talks some about one of her personal favorite cryptids and everyone's fave paranormal boyfriend: The Mothman. You probably know the stories, but it seemed a fitting way to kick start season 3. She discusses the original sighting reports, popular theories, and the Silver Bridge tragedy. We also casually pitch the perfect setting for a future Mothman animated series. Please DM us if interested.

In her section, Skylar discusses The Pine Barrens. This area is full of many different wild tales and hauntings. This is also the area of another cryptid: The Jersey Devil. Skylar talks some about The Jersey Devil, including its origins and some reported encounters, including a crossover no one could guess. She also covers a few of the popular ghosts in the area & how to potentially summon them according to local legends. There's also a Robin Hood-ish criminal and a headless pirate!

[Ep.59 Cooking] Cheese: Melted. Crust: Crusty.
Welcome back for another episode and also, the season 2 FINALE!
Once again we find ourselves back in the kitchen! This round it was Brittany's turn to pick and the drink was: red wine. Know that that was the drink, Brittany decided on making homemade pizza. Not just any homemade pizza though, a gluten-free mushroom pizza. (Richard may have recently developed a gluten allergy)
We don't really have any specific topics this time around. We just kinda chit-chat and catch up. We haven't recorded anything new in 2 weeks-ish so we haven't seen each other. Also, we were fighting time with this recording because a winter storm was literally blowing in as we were making this pizza and we needed to get Skylar home. There's some weird glitch theory talk, a Skylar holiday party story, some TMI health talk, and of course, some good ole' Stardew Valley discussions.
**This was recorded while we were actually cooking/eating this meal, so there are many sounds you might hear in a kitchen setting. Therefore, there may be some jarring bangs, clangs, and hisses. If you are sensitive to sudden sounds, please keep this in mind. There's also quite a few dog barks and cat meows this go around.

[Ep.58 Culture, Travel, & Language] Just Slip It Through The Wine Hole 'Cause We're Nothing If Not Thieves
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are back on our couch classroom to hopefully teach you a few things. (Although, to be real, Skylar is a little salty this episode.) So get your notebooks ready! We are going to be doing this while drinking something we like for yet another week. Skylar is enjoying a tasty, and loud, smoothie while Brittany is sipping on some red wine, just don't ask her what kind of red.
Brittany is going to discuss some facts, knowledge, legends, etc. about Italy. Italy obviously is a very historical, important, and timely country so Brittany's section is a very, very light dive into some cultural aspects. There's some attire talk, food talk, and of course some wine discussion. As well as some folklore and a fun little detail about a resurgence of a tool from the renaissance period.
Skylar is going to touch on some basics with teaching us Italian. She did not technically pick this language herself, and she has some beef with her book this time around. Therefore, her section may not be as detailed as she normally prefers to be in these episodes. She does manage to do a nice light introduction to the language though. Including some nice details about pronunciation as well as some common terms.
Skylar would like to remind everyone that she is by no means an expert or an official teacher. She is simply someone who loves to learn, loves to share her passions, and loves languages. She is completely self-taught, and she is constantly trying to better learn herself in all areas, this, of course, includes the Italian language. As we are both just trying this episode to teach ourselves more about the world, and hopefully you as well, we are completely open and willing to learning more on the subject, or if there are any corrections anyone might have to share with us.

[Ep.57 History] Drunk Taco Bell & Only Saying 'Mile' With A Southern Accent
Welcome to another episode!
This week we get to talk a little about some history and we get to do this while drinking something we like. This week Brittany is enjoying a caramel apple cider and Skylar is once again having a canned Moscow mule.
Brittany tells some of the story of Juliane Koepcke. In 1971, when Juliane was 17 years old, she survived the LANSA Flight 508 plane crash. Then, after falling almost 2 miles while strapped to her seat, she survived 11 days alone in the Amazon rainforest. She is a survivor and has gone though some horrible and traumatic things, and we talk some about what that was like.
Skylar goes on to talk about the most significant accident in US commercial nuclear power plant history. This is referring to The Three Mile Island accident. This accident was a partial meltdown of the Three Mile Island, Unit 2 reactor in Pennsylvania. It began at 4 AM on March 28, 1979. You can also enjoy Skylar's lovely southern accent coming out multiple times during her segment.

[Ep.56 Internet] 18% Fboy & Gaslit By Buzzfeed
Welcome to another episode!
This week we got to drink a drink we like. Brittany is drinking a pumpkin cider and Skylar is having a canned Moscow Mule. We sip on these while talking all about our topic of internet.
Brittany is back with more Reddit AITAH, but this time they are all Thanksgiving themed. Nothing says a 'Family Holiday' like some drama being brought to the internet. After that she makes Skylar take 3 different "5000 Character Personality Quizzes" to see if they all give her the same results. You can find links to each below.
Skylar also picked out some AITAH reddit threads and is once again doing cold-reads. Meaning, she did not read any of hers beforehand and wanted an honest and real reaction to them. After that, she makes Brittany take a few bizarre and weird Buzzfeed quizzes...again. Which you can find links to down below.

This recording was a lot of fun for us and we hope you also had fun listening to it. While the topic of 'internet' is very broad, we do quite like this commentary and quiz format for it. Brittany is drinking a gimlet which is: gin, simple syrup, and lots of lime juice. Thanks Emily Gilmore, cheers! While sipping on this, she talks about the fact that there should be more mummies in the world. However, in the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, Europeans were just kinda eating them and also painting with them. So, yeah..that's an unfortunate thing that happened in the past.

Skylar is drinking some sauvignon blanc while telling us about the disaster event that was Woodstock 99. Woodstock 99 was a 4 day music festival held in upstate New York. After Woodstock '94 it was the second large-scale music festival that attempted to emulate the OG '69 Woodstock festival. However, this particular music festival was just a complete and utter disaster.

[Ep.54 Literature] Mirrors Be Weird
Welcome to another episode!
This week is a very special episode because we get to talk about one of Skylar's most favorite things in the world and we get to talk about this while sipping on some white wine. Which is another thing very near and dear to Skylar's heart. So if you cannot tell, this week is very Skylar-centric and we are here for it. Our topic this week is 'Literature' so we are going to be discussing the book: The Raven Boys.
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater is the first of four books in a contemporary/urban fantasy series. The Raven Boys was published in 2012 and as mentioned above, this is one of Skylar's favorite things. (Just don't ask her what these books are about..)
If you are a fan of fantasy or just a fan of Skylar, this is a nice extra long episode to settle in for. This book has all of the good things we love here: tarot, magic, humor, dream birds, found family, and a whole bunch of heart. *As with all of our literature episodes, please be aware that this is so very full of spoilers. And for this book, this warning weighs heavier than usual since this is our first crack at taking on a multi-book series*

We cover a wide range of nothing, which is something we excel at. We talk some about Henry Cavill, young people making us feel old, contact issues that lead to panic attacks, smut, smut, smut, and much more. Also, Skylar may or may not be on some crisis helpline watchlist and she also tells a casual story about the time she accidentally got high and then ruined Christmas. Welcome to another episode!
This week the drink was 'red wine' and the topic was 'true crime' A duo that we get pretty regularly around here. Skylar wasn't feeling up to drinking this week though, so it's just Brittany sipping on some 19 Crimes wine.
Brittany talks about the Walburga Oesterreich case. Walburga was a German-born American housewife. She was married to a wealthy textile manufacturer Fred Oesterreich. Walburga gained public interest when she became the number one suspect of shooting her husband. Her involvement in the murder though, was very hard to prove. This is a case full of twists and turns, and it just gets very bizarre. If you think you know what's going to happen, you might be very wrong.
This is much more 'bizarre' than it is upsetting, but still Trigger Warnings for: murder, guns, grooming, enslavement

Skylar covers the American serial killer David Meirhofer. Meirhofer confessed to 4 murders in Montana between 1967-1974 (Three of these were children). [Ep.51 Movies] Crying in the Driveway & Unnecessarily Large Shards of Glass
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are talking about a movie while drinking something we don't like! Skylar got distracted on her way to recording and actually forgot to get her drink, but it all worked out because it turns out she didn't like what Brittany was having either. Therefore, the pair are begrudgingly sipping on some Root-beer and Vodkas. It's quite gross, do not recommend. While they are choking those drinks down they are discussing the movie: You're Next. It's Halloween week so this seems like the perfect pick!
You're Next is a 2011 American slasher film. The film centers on an estranged family who all meet up to celebrate their parents anniversary in a secluded house. Only to then find themselves under attack by a group of masked assailants, with a few twists and turns throughout.
The film was edited and directed by Adam Wingard. It stars Sharni Vinson, Nicholas Tucci, Wendy Glenn, A.J. Bowen, Joe Swanberg, Barbara Crampton, and Rob Moran. It's a classic slasher full of gore, camp-y moments, and dark humor. It's a quick watch, as most of the movie takes place in one hectic night and is only a little over 90 minutes long. If you love a good final girl and don't mind some blood, you will probably like this movie.

[Ep.50 Mystical] Spatulas Floating Through The Air & Words Are Really Hard
Welcome to another episode! Our 50th episode to be exact!!
(We meant to do something a little more for this one, but uh, we kinda forgot..)
This week we are getting to cover the topic: mystical! This is a topic we greatly enjoy and this recording was a lot of fun. Word stumbles and all. Brittany was also in charge of the drinks this week and so she created a cocktail perfect for the evening. The 'Witches Brew' is made up of vodka, sprite, pineapple juice, and lime green jello. It's green, it's frothy, and it's best served in a cute potion bottle.
Brittany talks some about the history of palmistry. She talks about how it was viewed in a scientific manner in the past as well as how some today are still testing the scientific viability of the practice. After that, she then goes into a very beginner friendly way to ease into reading a palm yourself. This part has a lot of directions that could become confusing and she did create a visual aid of her own hand that you can find on our socials that may make this section a little easier to follow.
Skylar talks about the early (written) history of Herbalism. There is quite a lot of history surrounding this topic, and for that reason Skylar only touches on a little bit of it. Otherwise, this could be a 5 hour episode. After touching some on the history she then goes over some specific popular herbs and talks about their medical uses as well as how they are commonly used spiritually.
*We really enjoyed this topic, and of course like everything else we cover, we are in no way professionals, so just take this for what it is: two curious and open minds who like to talk about fun and interesting things!

[Ep.49 History] A Founding Rake & More Chemicals Are Clearly Needed
Welcome to another episode!
This week we get to go back in time because we are talking bout history. The drink this time was white wine again, and so we are once again drinking some Bota Box, but this time the Breeze variety.
Brittany still has a few issues leftover from Covid. Mainly: some coughing and getting winded, so excuse that please. She does however, have a longer section than what's been her norm lately. This week she talks about the lesser known founding father: Gouverneur Morris. Don't let the topic fool you into thinking this will be like any old boring discussion on an old white man. This man has a pretty bonkers story, and it's actually quite a lot of fun.
Skylar takes us back to prohibition days. Back when people were sneakily making their own moonshine, and ya know, the government was casually just poisoning everyone. Her section is a little shorter than normal, but it's still a wild time in our history that should really be discussed more often.

Welcome to another episode!
This weeks topic could not have been more perfect since this is the first week of October and we get to talk about paranormal! We have not gotten to cover this topic since our very FIRST episode, and it's such a fitting way to start off spooktober.
Brittany is recently recovered (mostly) from covid. But since research and everything for this week did coincide with her feeling like crap and just wanting to sleep, her segment will be a little on the shorter side. She covers a smaller legend from the mountains in West Virginia. This tale is the legend of Screaming Jenny and her story takes place is the supernatural-prone city of Harper's Ferry, West Virginia.

Skylar talks about the notoriously haunted Waverly Hills Sanatorium. The Waverly Hills Sanatorium is a former sanatorium that opened in 1910 and was used to treat tuberculosis. It went through many changes over the years and grew quite the reputation for itself. In 2001 it was purchased by the current owners, and slowly became known as one of the more haunted places in the United States. [Ep.47 Music] Emoji Band Names & Fiverr Drummers
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are here to drink some vodka sprites since Skylar was in charge of the drinks, and we are also going to gush about one of our favorite topics: music!
Brittany covers a newer British indie rock duo from the Isle of Wight, who are quickly becoming one of her favorites: Wet Leg. They just released their self-titled debut album this year (2022). They are quirky, charming, and their sound is described as "sad music for party people, and party music for sad people." As they are semi-new to the music scene, and currently focused on touring, there isn't a whole lot to discuss about them. This fact makes this a shorter section than previous music episodes.
Skylar talks about one of her newest music obsessions: Lovejoy. Lovejoy is a British indie band from Brighton that was formed in 2020. Their music pays tribute to other indie rock influences, as well as comedy music influences. The lyrics of their songs often center around loss, failed love, and politics. They grew in popularity fairly quickly due to their presence on social media as well as being fronted by a well known internet personality. Since this is also a fairly new group this section is also on the shorter side.

[Ep.46 Movies] Too Many Bugs, Not Enough Plagues
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are discussing the movie 90's classic The Mummy while drinking some drinks we like. Brittany is enjoying another homemade cocktail this week. This one goes by the name "seafoam" and is made up of rum, blue curico, banana liqueur, margarita mix, more rum, grenadine, and some Swedish fish gummies. (It's also supposed to have sprite, but that was not the case this time.) Skylar went a little off book, since she technically didn't know for sure if she liked this drink, but it was an educated guess that she would. She sipped on some whiskey + lemonade in a can.
The Mummy is an American fantasy action-adventure film from 1999. It is a remake of the 1932 film also by the name of The Mummy. This film follows Rick O'Connell as he travels to Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead. He travels with a librarian named Evelyn and her brother Jonathan. In Hamunaptra they accidentally awaken Imhotep, a cursed high priest with supernatural powers. High-jinks ensue.
This movie stars Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, John Hannah, Kevin J. O'Connor, and Arnold Vosloo. It's a very fun, camp-y action comedy. In our opinion it still very much holds up today. It's easy to watch, is jokingly known as many people's "sexuality" on the internet, and is an all around good time movie. So whether you're a fan of the movie, like hearing about movies before watching them, or some other type of movie fan..we hope you enjoy us discussing this movie in a casual and loose manner!
**Spoiler warning, if you have not seen this movie and would like it to not be ruined for you** (no judgement either, since Skylar had never seen this movie until now). We did greatly enjoy it, and do definitely recommend it if it seems like your type of film.

[Ep.45 Internet] Are We The AH If We Judge These People's Reddit Posts?
Welcome to another episode!
This week Brittany was in charge of the drinks and she is freshly back from vacation. So, she decided to make a tropical themed cocktail. This is a drink that combines pineapple juice, coconut rum, banana liqueur, and creme of coconut. We sip on these while talking all about our topic of internet.
Brittany starts off with a little sleuthing to uncover the origin story of a recently popular meme that has been circulating on her twitter these past couple of weeks. She then goes on to read and discuss a few AITAH reddit postings. (She read these beforehand, and picked out specific ones to discuss.)
Skylar also picked out some AITAH reddit threads, but she is doing cold-reads. Meaning, she did not read any of hers beforehand and wanted an honest and real reaction to them. After that, she makes Brittany take a few bizarre and weird Buzzfeed quizzes. Which you can find links to down below.

[Ep.44 Culture, Travel, & Language] Partially Nude Parks & Straight Forward Numbers
This week we are back on our couch classroom to hopefully teach you a few things. So get your notebooks ready! We are going to be doing this while drinking some drinks we don't like. Skylar fermented some gin with some blackberries for many, many months and finally decided to combine said gin with some lemonade for this week (but she really didn't drink much). Brittany drank many, many beers the night before and so her drink she didn't like was 'no drink' because she dislikes not drinking alcohol. (But really, we don't force alcohol on this show so everything is a-okay)
Brittany is going to discuss some facts, knowledge, and various (small) specifics about Germany. Germany is obviously is a very historical, important, and timely country so Brittany's section is a very, very light dive into the culture this time around. This section contains some various historical facts, folklore, and some very light travel info..exclusively involving Oktoberfest.
Skylar is going to touch on some basics with teaching us German. [Ep.43 True Crime] Off-Topic Whiskey Shots & A Fashion Icon
Welcome to another episode!
This week we get to enjoy a drink we like, while discussing a topic we don't enjoy as much. Brittany is sipping on a whiskey-spiked iced tea and Skylar is enjoying some Italian wine. There are also whiskey shots on the table, because Brittany was feeling some type of way.
Brittany's "case" does not technically fall under the 'true crime' umbrella, but when she originally chose this topic and looked into it, she fully thought it would. However, she is not totally convinced that it can be 100% written off as not a true crime case, so she chose to discuss it anyway. She is going to talk about The Lost Children of the Alleghenies. This is about two missing brothers from the Appalachia region of the US in 1856. Seeing as how this story took place so long ago, there are many things that will never be determined for sure about it, making it possible to still potentially have some true crime aspects to it. You really just have to listen to understand.
And while this does not involve any of the 'normal' Trigger Warnings that would come with a True Crime episode, this does still involve the tragic fate of two young boys.

Skylar covers the life and murder of fashion icon: Gianni Versace. Gianni Versace was an Italian fashion designer, socialite, and businessman. In 1997 Versace was tragically shot and killed outside of his mansion in Florida by spree killer Andrew Cunanan. Skylar will also be covering Cunanan in this combo-case. As well as discussing Cunanan's 4 other unfortunate victims prior to Versace's murder.

Skylar is drinking a blackberry Moscow-mule this week. She recently watched the newest Spider-Man movie and decided to talk some about theoretical physics. The multiverse theory to be exact.

[Ep.40 Movies] Lesbians & Fights With A Stranger's Mom: A Vibe
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are discussing the movie Booksmart while we drink red wine. Booksmart is a coming-of-age film that follows two best friends who focused on academics in high school, only to realize on the eve of graduation that they should have worked less and played more. Therefore, they try to cram four years of missed fun into one night. Booksmart came out in 2019 and was the directorial debut of Olivia Wilde.
This movie stars Beanie Feldstein, Kaitlyn Dever, Jason Sudeikis, Lisa Kudrow, Will Forte, and Billie Lourd. It's a very fun and fresh take on the classic "high-school" comedy. So whether you're a fan of the movie, like hearing about movies before watching them, or some other type of movie fan..we hope you enjoy us discussing this movie in a casual and loose manner!
**Spoiler warning, if you have not seen this movie and would like it to not be ruined for you** We did greatly enjoy it, and do definitely recommend it if it seems like your type of film.
As always, thanks so much for listening! If you enjoy us enough to share or recommend us to a friend, we would love you that much more!

[Ep.39 Cooking] Beer, Carbs, & Explosions: The Irish Way
Welcome back for another episode!
(Big ole notice: This episode was actually recorded back in March of this year(2022) and is just now being released. This is the last release that was recorded months ago. Going forward from here, they are newly recorded.)
Once again we find ourselves back in the kitchen! Skylar was in charge of picking what we were cooking and since it was sorta close to St. Patrick's Day when this was recorded, she went with some "Irish Party Foods" This included soda bread, mac & cheese, and a fennel & leek soup. It was a very pale meal but everything tasted good! Unfortunately we had to drink something we didn't like so in keeping with the theme we tried to dye some Guinness beer green, but we just ended up with green foam..oh well. We still didn't like it.
While we are cooking/eating this time we are also answering some of the "36 Questions to Fall in Love" that was from the NY Times
**This was recorded while we were actually cooking/eating this meal, so there are many sounds you might hear in a kitchen setting. Therefore, there may be some jarring bangs, clangs, and hisses. If you are sensitive to sudden sounds, please keep this in mind. Also, much like last week there is some audio issues in the first half of this episode. It clears up once we are sitting down & not cooking. Plus, Brittany's Dog makes herself known a few times..such is life.
As always, thanks for listening!

[Ep.38 TV] A Farewell To TV: The Final Spin
Hello loves, and welcome back for another episode!
(Big ole notice: once again, this episode was actually recorded back in February of this year(2022) and is just now being released. ALSO this episode does have some audio issues that we apologize for. Hopefully going forward with new recordings, this is fixed.)
Ahhh, TV. A topic that has been the bane of our existence for this whole podcast. Therefore, we have officially removed TV from our spin wheel. So please join us for this final episode of the topic in this random-nonsense filled farewell to TV.
This is a very short and casual discussion about many different TV and TV-adjacent things. We play some games. Skylar doesn't know much TV trivia, Brittany doesn't know what X Factor is. Skylar goes off on a Love Island rant and describes 9-1-1 Lonestar. Brittany misses 90's era crazy reality TV shows. This episode is just a lot, and it's also just nothing at the same time.
We hope you can stick with us for it, again, we know the audio kinda sucks and it's a weird format, but we hope it's still fun!
As always, thanks for listening!

[Ep.37 Psychology] Pickle Forks With The Mother, In A Cult
Helloooo beautiful people! We are officially back for the year 2022
Welcome to our first episode of the season!
(Big ole notice: we actually recorded the first three episodes of this year starting in January, but for many different reasons we are just now releasing them. So please bear with the first few episodes, but we are officially back!)
We are kicking off our season premier with a Skylar-centric episode. The topic is psychology and she got to pick the drink. Therefore, we are enjoying a peach-mango hard cider.
Brittany originally wanted to discuss the psychology and phenomenon behind "why little spoon good" but, this led her down a rabbit hole. So she is actually going to be getting into some subtle signs and things to be aware of for disordered eating, that could eventually turn into an eating disorder. So trigger warning for her section if this would not be something you'd enjoy hearing about.

If you would like more information or would like to get help or just talk to someone, you can contact the national eating disorders helpline for support, resources and treatment options:
They have online chat Monday-Friday
You can call or text as well
If you are in a cirsis and need help immediately, text "NEDA" to 741741 to be connected with a trained volunteer at Crisis Text Line.
Skylar talks some about abnormal psychology. Abnormal psych is psychological disorders. This includes mental health disorders/mental illness disorders. She takes a very shallow dive into the topic and is much more technical than Brittany's but still, keep the topic in mind if you feel it could trigger you. She uses her notes from high school, as well as just her own knowledge and understanding of psychology.
We are very happy to be back and putting out content for you guys.
We can't promise that we will be any more put together than last year, but we hope you welcome us back and have a good time.!

[Ep.36 TV] A Horror Show For Hot & Smart People Only
Welcome to another episode, and also, welcome to our last episode of the year! (2021)
This week we are discussing the topic: TV. We are actually going to be talking about 1 specific show this week and we are doing this while we sip on some glasses of red wine. We are drinking some 7moons red wine, which is just a blend of different grape varietals.
The show we are going to be discussing is: Midnight Mass. We both watched this show separately and now we are going to break it down and discuss the events and our feelings in details. Obviously a BIG spoiler warning for this episode, please do not listen if you do not want this show to be ruined for you. We of course want you to listen to all of our episodes if you like us, but we both really quite loved this show and think you should watch it and THEN come back and listen to this. Or if you just don't care about spoilers, then by all means, join us!
This is a bit of a long one. We break down the events of each episode and discuss a variety of different topics that are covered. Skylar, having grown up in heavy religion is also about to provide some Bible history that accompanies each episode. All in all, this was a really fun one for us to make and it's also one of our longer ones. We just had a bunch to say about it.
Midnight Mass is an American supernatural horror miniseries created and directed by Mike Flanagan. It stars Zach Gilford, Kate Siegel, Hamish Linklater, Samantha Sloyan, Rahul Kohli, and Henry Thomas. The plot centers on an isolated island community that experiences supernatural events after the arrival of a mysterious priest. This series was released on Netflix on September 24, 2021.
As mentioned, this is our last episode of this year, so we once again thank you guys for hanging out with us for this year. We didn't always know what we were doing but it was a lot of fun! We hope you come back and listen to us again next year!
xCheers!

[Ep.35 Mystical] For Legal Reasons The Answer Is Always Christians..
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are getting to cover the topic: mystical! It's probably safe to assume that this is one of our favorite topics to cover so we were especially stoked for this week! However, our drink this week was 'a drink we don't like' so that put a slight damper on the recording session. We are both enjoying(?) a whiskey coke. Skylar because she hates whiskey and Brittany because she hates coca-cola and also *honey* whiskey, which was used, she loves just plain whiskey. All in all, a terrible drink, yay!
Brittany goes very slightly into some spiritualism beginnings in the USA talk, because her main focus this week is on the Ouija Board! A taboo and sometimes controversial topic, but one of her personal favorite tools. Nothing we talk about in any episode should be taken as 100% fact and truth, and while Brittany personally believes in most 'mystical' things and takes using these types of tools seriously, our episodes are always supposed to be taken lightly and are for fun.
Skylar goes lightly into the different types of 'witch' classifications and what makes up defining certain major "witch types". This is a very basic dive into this topic, but it's a lot of fun to hear about! Please note that when we got into Skylar's half of the episode, everything became chaotic! There will be quite a few distractions, tangents, and interruptions. Mainly because, that during the recording of her section we were in a tornado warning and so, we had to round up all of Brittany's animals and put them in the basement with us. We were almost done recording though, and wanted to push through with the episode. So we apologize for how off the rails it got towards the end.
*We really enjoyed this topic, and of course like everything else we cover, we are in no way professionals, so just take this for what it is: two curious and open minds who like to talk about fun and interesting things!
As always, thanks so much for listening! If you enjoy us enough to share or recommend us to a friend, we would love you that much more!

[Ep.34 Creators/Creatives] Pure Joy & Inevitable Death
Welcome to another episode!
This week we are talking about some cool people out there making stuff! Brittany was in charge of the drinks, so we are sipping on some white wine.
Brittany talks all about video game developer: Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe. He is the creator of the hit game Stardew Valley. We are big fans of this game here and it was a lot of fun to talk about.
For more of Eric's interviews please see these links:

Skylar goes on to talk about Mark Fischbach, also known as Markiplier and Ethan Nestor, known as CrankGameplays. Both are you-tubers and she touches on each of them as individuals but mainly discusses their combined creative project: Unus Annus.
As always, we thank you so much for listening! If you enjoy us, please share!

[Ep.33 Psychology] Cherry Tomatoes Eaten Like Grapes & Pretty Freaky 'A' Words
Welcome to another episode!
This week's theme is Psychology! Skylar is of course, super pumped for this so get ready for 11 pages from her! This week the drink choice was 'Brittany's Choice' so she went with a tart strawberry lemonade cider.
Brittany touches some on color psychology. This is a very shallow dive, and focuses more on international connotations with some base colors. She also touches some on brands and how they choose color schemes, and then closes out with some front door color theory. *All of this is of course, not very scientific so don't take it too seriously, but it is still interesting when you break it down!
Skylar is very giddy to talk some about the wonderful and kind-of terrifying brain! There is a lot of terminology and biology in this section so hopefully you are able to follow along and enjoy it. If nothing else, Skylar is always fun to listen to when she's excited about a topic, and this is definitely a topic that makes her very pumped.

[Ep.32 Cooking] Just Two People Cooking Salmon & Falling in Love
Welcome to another episode!
We are back in the kitchen once again! This time we are cooking a dish from the Elder Scrolls cookbook: Baked White River Salmon, and we are having that with some yellow rice. Skylar has never had salmon before and doesn't typically like rice, so this whole meal was a gamble. We do get to sip on drinks we like though! Skylar is enjoying some white wine, and Brittany has a cider.
While we are cooking/eating this time we are also answering some of the "36 Questions to Fall in Love" that was from the NY Times

[Ep.31 Literature] Religion Kinks & Morally Grey People
Welcome to another episode!
This week is a little different, because this is Part 2 of our newest literature episode. We are still discussing 'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo' and Skylar was still in charge of the drinks. This time, we are enjoying some peach-grapefruit Moscow mules. If you need to go back to last week and listen to part 1 we urge you do to that before continuing with this week's episode. This will be the very last half of the book, and has some major spoilers.
'The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo' by Taylor Jenkins Reid is a historical fiction novel that was published in 2017. It tells the story of the Old Hollywood legend Evelyn Hugo doing a "tell-all" interview to an unknown journalist. In which, she spills all of her secrets and finally tells her truth.
This is a very good book, we both loved it. It's fun but also can punch you in the gut a few times. If you enjoy the glamour of classic Hollywood we encourage you to check it out for yourself!
