Legacy of Laughter-Visiting the Red Skelton Festival
Gunky and Jazzi take you to the Red Skelton Museum of Comedy Festival and parade celebrating One of America's Favorite Clowns- Richard Bernard "RED SKELTON." Your podcast hosts take you on a virtual live radio broadcast as they talk with Lothian Skelton-Red's wife, Anne Pratte-Museum and Festival Director, Brian Hoffman-Red Skelton Tribute Performer, and Jeff Wilsey- clown participant and Wood Burning artist.
Richard Bernard “Red” Skelton, the comedy genius known for his rubber face was born on July 18, 1913 in Vincennes, Indiana.
Red made it his life’s goal to perform and bring laughter to people. In 1937 Red made his debut on radio. “The Red Skelton Show” became a radio staple in the 1940s. In 1951, Red took his show from the radio airways to television. The TV show lasted from 1951 to 1971 and earned Red three Emmy Awards. Despite his fame and success, he never forgot about his humble beginnings in Vincennes and often spoke fondly of his hometown during subsequent visits.
One of his most famous Characters was the iconic Freddie the Freeloader. Red wanted to be known as One of America's Clowns.
The Museum, Festival and parade honor the Red Skelton's Legacy of Laughter.

Who is Harvey?
Jazzi and Gunky introduce you to Harvey, an award winning, funny and talented clown who loves to appear in parades and festivals. Harvey got his start as part of the Gamma Phi College Circus at Illinois State university. He's spent several years performing with the Triton Troupers Circus. He describes his style of clowning along a parade route as "free style"-- he uses no props and seldom speaks. Harvey let's his personality do the talking wherever he appears.

Both Jazzi and Gunky are award winning clowns in the World Clown Association and are members of the Midwest Clown Association Hall of Fame. Jazzi has also been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Midwest Clown Association.
