She began her career in the restaurant industry where she developed a love for hospitality before continuing to become extremely successful in the event planning and strategy industry. She was also Hailey and Megan's professor for Intro to Events in the fall of 2020 and continues to be a professor here at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Laurel O'Malley is the head basketball coach for the CWC Lady Renegades, and Megan's aunt. She started her career as a player with the Sutton Fillies where they won a state championship with an undefeated season, putting them in the Nebraska High School Hall of Fame. With many accolades, Laurel went on to have a very successful career as an athlete at Doane. She is now at CWC where she has recorded her 200th win as a coach and has coached the team to several state tournament runs with a third place finish in 2020, multiple conference and district championships. All while being a teacher and a mom. How does she do it while leaving a lasting impact and the ladies she coaches? Find out in this episode. Welcome to season 2 of Small Town Girls! Hailey & Megan are back from break with a new season, new guests, and a new year! In episode one, we talk about what we've been up to; Sports is a Job, the late Kobe & Gianna Bryant, and more! We are so excited to get season two rolling and thankful for the continued support! 

For the season 1 finale of Small Town Girls, Hailey & Megan talked with Jennifer Sheppard or Shepp as the students call her, from the Sports Media and Communication department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. The girls talked about her love for riding in motocross to that leading a passion for writing. Shepp discussed the importance of processing UNL in the sports media department for women and how she can make an impact. We want to thank everyone for their love and support when we started this podcast back in August, and we will see everyone for season 2 in January.
