SNOW DAY: The Socialish Barista Mic Check
Some bad weather messed up our plans for recording last second, so we weren't able to record an episode. So here is our recording from back in like September or October one night when we met to test out the mics we just bought for this podcast. We ended up recording this.... Possibly the first ever 1 star review segment we did.
#16 "Fun" Meetings
Tre usually writes a description here.... so he will probably do that at some point.
Here I am writing that description. We took a day to talk about those stupid weird work meetings that could've been summed up in an email or those meetings that lasted for hours you that you almost didn't get paid for. Also, we are rebranding from the Socialist Barista to something else.....
#15 Coffee with Casey... Who Makes Coffee
You know what really grinds my burrs? Is that Trey didn't make me say "grind my burrs" earlier. But thankfully, Casey from Casey Makes Coffee joined the show to cement a great phrase into the show from this point going forward. Honestly, Casey has a super cool story that we enjoyed hearing and a lot of great insight into working in the specialty coffee industry. You will definitely enjoy hearing from her experience in the scene.
Casey also has a DOPE online store that supplies the coffee world with coffee beans, equipment, and other great goods. Check out her store here at https://caseymakes.coffee/ . It's "dot" coffee. That's pretty freaking neat tbh. If you've been thinking of finding a way to do your own business or "thing" in coffee, you will definitely learn some great insights! Anyways, it was a legit honor having Casey join, along with those who listened in on Clubhouse and DISCORD. Yeah we have a discord now. Anyone can join, but Patreon people get to listen in live on the discord during recordings to chat and interact with us. Check out our Patreon, discord, Casey's shop, and leave us a review on iTunes by following the links right here! https://linktr.ee/socialistbarista
Thanks for being a supporter of this show, and many others doing what they love in the coffee industry.
#14 Specialty Coffee with a Canadian
Welcome to our first official INTERNATIONAL episode with our good friend Nic Gwynn, all the way from BERTA, Canada! We talk specialty coffee of course and some of the differences in the specialty coffee scene in Canada and the United States. Did you know they have bagged milk in Canada? Cause I didn't. Come learn about Canada and their free health care system. Over hyped if you ask me, i'd rather just do anything to avoid the hospital and life crippling debt that comes with it. Sorry it's a hella long episode this week, but that is just how its gonna be.
Also, we are STILL on this TikTok phase. Will we stop talking about these cringe TikToks? Probably not next week, but maybe the week after. Who knows? Thanks for listening, and if you've gone this far to read this, would you pleeeeease leave a RATING and REVIEW on our Apple Podcasts page. Its the best way you can help us out with getting the word our about us!
Also, hit me up on Club House if you're on there! @socialbarista (Not a typo) Jared Truby followed me there and so I feel like i've made it in the coffee world. K bye!
