EP77: Internet Trolls & Ableism: People with Chronic Illness Don't Deserve Less Love Than You
In this episode, Hailey & Jess dive into an Instagram post that got quite a bit of attention recently on Jess's personal page. Jess was diagnosed with chronic multiple tick-borne illness, better known as Chronic Lyme Disease, in 2018 and has shared vulnerably about her illness off and on on Instagram over the years. Last week, Jess shared a mirror selfie along with a short caption about her shower chair and in response received a very judgmental and hateful comment from a random user insulting those with chronic illness specifically.
- We chat about Jess's feelings towards the comment and how she went about responding to it
- We discuss how much the chronic illness community showed up for each other in this moment
