Into You Like A Train- Metaphors in Poetry
"Into You Like A Train"...psychedelic furs-
I was listening to this old favorite while going through some old writing to be polished into life, and I noticed a strange phenomenon. I write including trains a whole lot.
I remember thinking this was strange and as I do I started researching this. I think may not be as strange as I'd like to believe.... Again.
Direct Link to this podcast: https://youtu.be/6PKkz_TQeFg
These examples illustrate how poets have used the metaphor of a train to convey various aspects of love and human experience.
In closing, I offer my jumbled-up versions of these things. I hope you enjoy them and visit the Vids and Podcast, even though I MAY not be an academic...or an outlaw.

Imported from Asia the Italian
Imported from Asia the Italian If the stomach is an annex to a violent sad perception the size of a sigh. It is a map where you read pain, fears, and outward-facing inner turmoil. Call it all bull shit. My heart is the most violent annex of all prognosis It’s a map read bull shit coordinate the sync. I’m shore. & I’m sure that by your brain is a plan. A kiss is the way to keep you. to keep you sane. I think maps are fortune tellers for a quarter-? on a boardwalk. A way to show you the words you’ll never say. Don’t you? K myself today? Watch me on tv tomorrow? Write a poem in the afternoon? I’ve no interest in tv Id forget us anyway. But tonight I’d choose to be tricked by the words you say. Tonight feels cosmic. Final ending upside-down Upsy-Daisy. What’s formed in my head and throat comes out of my mouth and is waiting for yours For the worst you come to me This is the only thing that’s pure in my life Pure. what we do you and me Not the universal me I am too fucked to drink... too drunk to fuck and just enough much drink to be. Fucked. Cut my heart out like a tumor peel the scaly onion. Swim for forever and a day and I press hips my heart is doing flips flips doing is my heart mine? I kiss your lips I kiss your eyes I write to you in the darkness Before the big sleep I will sleep in your dreams Where you should be with me From A to Z. In to end. Again. So here is another one.
The Emotional Orphan’s Odyssey: Loneliness to Resilience
“The Emotional Orphan’s Odyssey: Loneliness to Resilience”
"Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That’s how the light gets in."
Leonard Cohen
Greetings, ! Today, is a journey through verses of resilience in , ‘The Emotional Orphan’s Odyssey.’ Explore the emotional landscape of one individual’s evolution from loneliness to resilience.”
Our journey begins with an emotional orphan, navigating a landscape of loneliness. How do poets craft this initial atmosphere, capturing the profound sense of isolation and yearning for connection?”
In my case, as I finally tired of ramming my head into a wall, and change now on the menu, a mentor called me an "emotional orphan". Describing one who was never given the emotional tools to thrive.
Boy, did I love that !!!
The Void
Loneliness can be a vast void, echoing with unspoken emotions, and paralysis. Some of us, as poets delve into acknowledging this void, giving voice to the silent struggles and profound yearning for companionship.
But how?
The Crossroads
Our protagonist stands at the crossroads, facing the choice of succumbing to despair or embracing resilience.
How do poets depict this pivotal moment
in the emotional orphan’s journey?
Seeking Connection
“In the quest for resilience, connection becomes a lifeline. We’ll explore how poets weave the narrative of seeking and finding meaningful connections, illustrating the transformative power of human bonds.
The Alchemy of Self-Love
Resilience often begins with self-love. Discover how our emotional orphan undergoes a metamorphosis, learning to embrace and nourish themselves emotionally. How do poets articulate this alchemy of self-love?
Lessons from the Journey
“Every journey leaves its lessons. We’ll reflect on the wisdom gained by our emotional orphan as they navigate the twists and turns, discovering strength in vulnerability and resilience in adversity.
Celebrating Resilience
Our emotional orphan emerges from the shadows, transformed. Join us in celebrating the triumph of resilience, as depicted by poets who capture the beauty of overcoming loneliness and emerging stronger.
Closing Reflections
As we conclude this emotional odyssey, we’ve witnessed the evolution from loneliness to resilience. A reminder that even in the depths of despair, there’s a path towards strength and self-discovery. Until next time, keep exploring the poetic narratives that resonate with your own journey.
Outro:
Thank you for joining us on this emotional voyage. If you found solace in today’s exploration, don’t forget to subscribe and share. Until our next poetic odyssey, may your hearts find resilience in every verse.

RenDition—(A Nod to Ren Gill) @JackVarnell
RenDition—(A Nod to Ren Gill) @JackVarnell In my early minutes. , I vowed to defeat evil, Beat hypocrites the most, And I suffered for a decade Or maybe three, with illness Depression, and psychosis about my future. Manic d with a plan. SuperHero is not apropos for a boy in pajamas with footie protectors as he runs away. Wanna see my feet? It can’t be cartoon Saturday Every fu**ing Day… There are no clear winners or losers cleared in life's Blockbuster battles. Whatever happens - happens. Fuck you. Instead, I’m all victim or student of the cosmos. At least in this neighborhood. I fake an eternal dance between light-dark. I resist, and the harder the resilience. Such a marketing term… F*ck off became. Breathe. Resilience. So, I aged, Disciplined to relax and soften, the dance was easier. This eternal dance sets us apart as human beings, not angels, (stop it) demons, (stop it) or gods. (Surely you jest…. ) We must remember it’s humanity. It is where we all belong. ******************************************************************** Please SUPPORT OUR WORK !!! I Wasn't College Material by Scot Young
I Wasn't College Material by Scot Young is a collection that spans time and circumstances, by a poet willing to resurrect the sting of assumptions and expectations to turn the lens in the other direction. He challenges social gatekeeping and the classist label culture that nurtures the privileged and pushes the rest of us toward their service. He understands what feeds self-doubt and steers destiny away from us, and he goes after the source...This is not the same as holding up the glass."

Cobalt Soldiers
The EmotionalOrphan: Cobalt Soldiers
The ancient windowsill and it's cobalt blue contrasts oversee the sun-shined courtyard that's always been there. The cylindrical soldiers of fused sand held and kept pure Grandma's ease and comfort those last days. Now, cobalt sentinels watch over the courtyard, shielding from the same golden heat and flame that first gave it purpose. Bottles emptied, their beauty remains. Soldiers new orders have been given, and their purpose has changed. To ensuring Grandmothers memory lives on forever, while the sun shines on, over the courtyard that's always been there.

Warped Lives Of Blameless Children: Monogrammed -Liver and Onions Part I and II...
The EmotionalOrphan: Warped Lives Of Blameless Children: Monogrammed Straight Jacket--Liver and Onions Part I and II "Monogram Straight Jacket H" The speaker has two monogram straight jackets. The jackets have initials for identification. Adult childproof analog ID plastic bracelet in Amber color provided. The medication has potential side effects. 😵 "Liver and Onions Part One" The speaker has consumed their own liver metaphorically. Describes bitterness and hatred. Mentions writing it down after purging. References a dark room with strangers. 🤔 "Liver with Onions Part Two" Mentions following a note and reaching the end of a wind tunnel. Realization of being in a sewer instead of fresh air. Describes methane and sludge in the tunnel. Suggests dissecting frogs and making notes for experimentation. ******************************** monogram straight jacket monogram straight jacket right here in the lap of luxury and there's initials that are there and that's so they can match the name to the face and the records and all that stuff then now they give you an adult childproof analog ID plastic bracelet The falls color is the Amber usually and it is this year it clashes with the orderly Green scrubs and opposes the happy-go-lucky pastels of everything else they give me pills to make me feel better and they may cause me liver disease erectile dysfunction, migraines or make me drowsy. my question is where is the comfort in that where is the fun in that I can find my own pills those in charge it seems are painfully aware that my thoughts are heavy machinery and that I should not be operating them here on the road to happy Destiny. if I get lost though it at least I have a monogram straight jacket and an adult childproof analog ID bracelet because Amber says it's going to be that way until fall is over ********************************* liver and onions part one and two part one liver and onions I've eaten up my own liver with onions starving for for its rancid Taste of bitterness and hatred from a guilt edged plate with a one point Fork reused and sharpened on a matchbook with a side of hard whiskey or maybe cheap wine in a dark room full of strangers taking turns clothed in a cold shower of Saving Grace and so I write it all down after I'm through purging and I go back through the soup line liver with onions part two dissecting the frogs the note said to go and I have been to the end of the wind tunnel and I've learned that sometimes when you need air the most you realize you're in the sewer instead backing up clog filling in the tunnel with the dankness and sludge the methane drowns the air flow and it throws off the whole damn experiment Paints the outcome but you write it all down and you can call it Placebo or control group or whatever you want just dissect another Frog by starting again from scratch and always

who is the emotional orphan ?
I am not a hero, possess no fortune, haven’t changed the course of mankind in any way.
I am unaware of any lives permanently altered by knowing me.
On the other hand, I am no serial killer, thief, dictator , malingerer, or miscreant.
I am not in jail or institution.
Some were sure I would be.
I am not dead. Bets were surely placed on how long Id last.
I am a museum of past affection.
A wax museum in the sun.
The byproduct of repetition, resentment, and the past.
