Scripture for Reflection:
Philippians 4:6-7; Colossians 3:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
The Process:
Keep a daily, detailed gratitude journal.
- Write three items for which you’re grateful.
- Choose from the past 24 hours.
- Don’t allow yourself to repeat the three.
Then sit with gratitude.
- Think about these specific gifts from God.
- Pay attention to what you’re experiencing (thoughts, emotions, body sensations).
- Thank God out loud for each gift.
Questions for Life Groups:
1. Would anyone like to share a particular blessing from this past week that was meaningful for you to acknowledge before God?
2. How is this practice changing your perception of your circumstances?
3. How is this practice changing your perception of people?
4. How is this practice changing your perception of God?
