Episode #22: Creating a Future in Nigeria W/ Daniel Dake Jr., Founder of Teens for Change
As BBC news reported in 2017, Nigeria has the largest number of children out of school in the world - roughly 10.5 million. The education ministry’s permanent secretary said those that were most affected were girls, street children, and the children of nomadic groups. This is the outcome of minimal funding that the public education system receives as well as the government’s disregard for general human development. Realizing and living through this truth, Daniel Drake Jr who grew up in the slums in Lagos, Nigeria knew he needed to do something to help give street children a future in which they can earn a steady income and uplift Nigeria economically and socially. Thus, Daniel started Teens for Change which led him to become one of 33 global teen leaders. Instagram & Twitter: sparklinkpod  LinkedIn & Youtube: Sparklink Podcast
