The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast
By Sparrows
We will be exploring the world of music, through our experiences, as well as those of our friends. And hopefully having some laughs along the way
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows PodcastMay 27, 2020
Season Two, Episode Ten - Untitled or Self Titled or Something.
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast is back. Has Returned? Is here? Are we returning at this point? Anyway, we're back with a new episode, the tenth one to be precise. We're back with the "We should love this record but don't" episode. This week is Jon's and it feels like this week went by in the BLINK of an eye. If I've said it 1 time, I've said it 8 times: Doing a podcast makes the days go by 2 times the normal rate. How about that for a massive batch of foreshadowing. Season Two, Episode Nine - Hey, I'm pretty sure we missed an episode. Seriously.
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast is back. Has Returned? Is here? Are we returning at this point? Anyway, we're back with a new episode, the ninth one to be precise. What happened to episode eight, you may ask. Well...
This week is just the three of us, and we're working on a slightly different concept. Allowing us a fresh view to keep DISCOVERING music, revisiting THE records we didn't like back in the day, but probably should have liked. No need to head to the WATERFRONT, as you can listen right here!

Season Two, Episode Seven - Why are you so much cooler than us?
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast is back. Has Returned? Is here? Are we returning at this point? Anyway. Episode Seven has arrived. This episode we have our second guest, and first from the West Coast. Our wonderful friend Rob Gross. Rob is one of the most passionate music fans around, has worked basically every job in music. Currently he is working as VP of Marketing at BMG. Basically, he's really slumming it with us.
Since Rob is the guest, he gets to pick the record, and we head back to the 90's yet again, for a literal trendsetter of a band. This is a longer episode, but 1000% worth it, as we cover a ton of ground, including when Dan and Rob worked together for a brief moment. Season Two, Episode 6 - Someone Con'ed me into this. Get it? Get it? Okay, sorry.
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast is back. Has Returned? Is here? Are we returning at this point? Anyway. Episode Six is here. This episode we jump straight into a twindie group. Sorry, an indie group with twins in it. You'll get that joke later. This episode is Alex's pick. And oh boy, do we go on some tangents, again. Plus Dan bitches about the same thing for like, 20 minutes?
Get ready for some weirdness. Tune in! As always, if you have ideas, comments, and good vegan butter tart recipes, reach out: Sparrows613@gmail.com
Season Two, Episode Five - If This Was The Right Title, And Gave Me A Headache, Would You Get Me An Advil?
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast is back. Has Returned? Anyway. Episode Five is here. This episode we jump into a highschool emo throwback. This episode is Jon's pick. And oh boy, do we go on some tangents. Get ready for some weirdness, CHECK IT OUT!

Season Two, Episode Four - From Quincy, With Love (Mike Moschetto)
Hey all. We're back! And we have our first guest: Mike Moschetto. Mike we have known for years now, originally from a short tour with his old band Aviator (aviatorma.bandcamp.com).
Mike is also a record producer (running The Office Studios) as well as working in radio (kind of for NPR, we'll dig into that a bit).
Mike has also stayed active in music, including his most recent project with friend/collaborator West Lentz entitled Today, like every other day, we wake up empty and frightened.
You can take a listen to this beautiful recording here: https://mikemoschetto.bandcamp.com/
You should also check out Sellin' Out, Mike's Podcast. Take a listen here: https://open.spotify.com/show/4h3ku7mlYAQbOMmZFq2YSP
This episode, Mike picked the record and honestly, it's an absolute joy. Check out the episode to see what we dug into.
Season Two, Episode Three - Eat Shit, Metaphorically Speaking
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast is back. Has Returned? Anyway. Episode Three is here.
This episode we jump into a Canadian Heavyweight whose career has spanned more than 20 years. This episode is Dan's pick. So in true Dan fashion, when he loves stuff, he never stops talking.
As well, we briefly discuss our Cut Loose Merch X Sparrows merch sale, with all the proceeds going to Camh: The Centre For Addiction And Mental Health. If you have the means, check it out: https://tinyurl.com/SparrowsCutLoose
Tune in!

Season Two, Episode Two - We're really getting good at these.
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast is back. Has Returned?
Anyway. Two episodes right away! Shit, we're really doing nothing eh?
This episode we jump right into one of Alex's favourite records. And, an Australian band to boot. Tune in and listen to Dan try and be positive while Alex and Jon love on it.

Season Two, Episode One - Ummmm. I Guess We Were Gone For A Bit?
The Moth-Band Prophecies: A Sparrows Podcast is back. Has Returned?
Anyway. We've been gone a while. Not because we haven't been trying. We've lost something like 5-6 episodes of this podcast. And you know the old saying; When life gives you lemons, you stop fucking with lemons.
But, now we have time. No tours, no shows, no nothing. So we thought we'd get back to it. The format is different (for now) and we've learned to shut up a bit more. So dive in with us as we discuss some records we love/hate/haven't heard before.

Episode Five - Sons Of Sam (He has no Sons...)
And we're back. We had a good run of episodes in a row there, but alas, we blew it.
Anyway, on this week's episode we have Sam Guaiana. Producer, Engineer Mixer, all around handsome person. This is our longest episode so far for a reason. Sam is super well spoken, and fits right in immediately with us. We discuss a lot of things on this episode and get a ton of insight into the life and times of Sammy G (trying that nickname out, I think it's good..?). There's also a good amount of drum talk in this one. So sit back, grab a latte and settle in for a long one full of laughs.

Episode Four - They Came, They Saw, They Patrick Roy'ed.
Oh My God We're Back Again! Brothers, Sisters, Everybody Sing. Gonna Bring The Flavour, Show You How. We Got Patrick Walford For Ya Now.
Sorry....
Episode four of the Moth-Band Prophecies; A Sparrows Podcast is up with Rock The Walls host and all around good person Patrick Walford. We talk his history with radio, his introduction to Punk and Hardcore music, and how he ended up being at the power house Idobi Radio (the Programming Director, no less!). We also dive into some wrestling talk, and the bitterness of playing against each other in Fantasy Hockey. Mostly the bitterness is from Patrick and Jon, as Dan is leading the league, currently.
Anyway, sit back, relax and enjoy a look into another avenue of the music business. Also, Dan is the King of Fantasy Hockey.
Episode Three - One Flew Over The Hippy's Nest
Woah!!!! We're back so soon with another of your favourite chat session. This week, we are with Chris Hippy Hughes, from Seas and Moneen. Hippy has been a long time friend of the band, and we've played countless shows with Seas over the last few years (including our third show ever, which was also the Goliath record release show). We touch on a ton of stuff, so settle in and enjoy some reminiscing.
Make sure you check out the new Seas record "Cursed", which came out last November on Dine Alone Records. It's incredible.

Episode Two - Interview with a Vampire
Heyyyoooo! Happy 2019 to you all. Today we start the podcast off officially with our friend Chris Cresswell of The Flatliners. We discuss a lot of things including some history of the band (both business and otherwise), some activities outside of music he partakes in and honestly we just laughed at each other a lot.
Hopefully you enjoy, and please check out all that Chris is involved in:
