Episode 78 - Relief
The 23/24 season comes to a satisfying close, as Queen's Park get the required win over Airdrie to secure our Championship status for a third successive season. David, Enzo and Calum relive the game on Friday night, as well as briefly discussing the season on a whole and what they plan to do with their spare time in the comings weeks. To end the episode, we have drama as our predictions league comes down to a tie-breaker with guest pundit/QP stats guru Gregor on the phone to give the answer!
Episode 77 - Here We Go Again (Again)
It's Groundhog Day for Queen's Park, as once again we have a final game showdown in the Scottish Championship, although this time it's to survive rather than win it. Before David, Enzo and Calum talk about the massive game this Friday against Airdrie (with some pretty miserable stats), there is another big win over Arbroath to discuss as the Spiders get back to finding the back of the net in style at the best possible time.
Episode 76 - Operation 'Just Win'
The guys are back to recap the 0-0 draw against Dunfermline where we seen a host of line-up changes and unfortunately, no goals.
We cover the latest goings on around the club and preview our second last league game of the season against Arbroath where we hopefully (!!) start to see a change in fortune.
Episode 75 - Titles & Tribulations
David, Enzo and Calum are back once again this week with the good and the bad of Queen's Park FC! On the back of securing the SWPL2 title at the weekend, Enzo spoke to QP Women's manager Craig Joyce and David spoke to club captain Ellie Kane on a fantastic season (so far!) and what lies ahead for them both. Unfortunately though, the good times can't last and we have to look back at a dreadful result & performance against ICT for the men's team, before looking ahead to this weekends trip to Dunfermline, the first of three "cup finals" to end the league campaign.
Episode 74 - A Day To Forget
Calum, David, and Enzo review a very disappointing performance against Dundee United, before looking ahead to Queen's Park Women's chances at clinching the SWPL2 league title, and another massive game this coming Saturday at Hampden when Caley Thistle come to visit.
Episode 73 - Treacherous Journeys
It's not quite clear who had the worst weekend between the three of us, with David & Enzo taking in another defeat in Greenock and Calum not getting nearly enough warning on a perilous trip into the forests of his current home country of Malawi. A brief moan about the latest loss, before more positive of one confirmed and another imminent league title for Queen's Park, before looking ahead to the potentially daunting prospect of Dundee United at Hampden.
Episode 72 - Two Going On Ten
A comfortable win over Ayr United is the main topic of conversation this week, a massive win for the league table and one where the score more than flattered the opponent. A quick news round-up following up on points raised last week, before looking ahead to this coming Saturday and previewing Morton away, and surely it will be eighth time lucky?
Episode 71 - Drawing A Blank
David, Enzo and Calum are back again to discuss a nail-biting 0-0 draw against Raith, the latest news from around the club, and our thoughts on the (huge) upcoming game against Ayr.
Episode 70 - I Was Saying Boo-ing Boo-ing
Calum, David, and Enzo discuss whether Saturday's draw against Partick Thistle should be considered a point gained or two dropped. We also recap all the news around the club, as well as a couple of upcoming events worth attending, before looking forward to another massive game at Hampden this week when Raith Rovers come to visit.
Episode 69 - A Lilongwe Away
Another week, another podcast and Calum is back with David & Enzo after a week off to move to the other side of the world! Thankfully though he was able to stream the 1-1 draw away to Airdrie and is able to give us his take on the game. In an otherwise relatively quiet week, we discuss QP Women's latest point in SWPL2 which sees them get even closer to lifting the league title. Finally, it's a look ahead to this coming weekend, and the visit of Partick Thistle to Hampden Park.
Episode 68 - The Joy Of Six
David and Enzo are joined by guest pundit Gregor, filling in for big brother Calum, to discuss a positive performance despite defeat away to Dundee United before enjoying a recap of the 6-0 pumping of Arbroath. We also round up the latest news around the club, including another big win for QP Women, and Gregor gives us some insight into his work with the QP Foundation. Finally, it's a look ahead to Airdrie away, an opponent we haven't beat in 90 minutes in a frighteningly long time...
Episode 67 - The Dark Arts & The Dark Rum
Calum, David, and Enzo sit down for an in-person episode (with a fair few drinks) to discuss the goalless draw against Morton at Hampden, while begrudgingly admitting that they're good at what they do, as well as looking forward to Queen's Park's upcoming visit to Tannadice.
Episode 66 - The Don Thomas
The guys are back to discuss a triumphant week for all things Queen's Park. We cover the 3-0 win away to Dunfermline, QP Women winning by 12 (TWELVE), alongside our usual match preview and news round up. It's looking ominously optimistic all of a sudden...
Episode 65 - Pint of Big Dunc Tears Please Barman
The Spiders return from Inverness with another win over the Highland side, in a game that will go down in history as one that took place, so there's not too much for the boys to get into apart from the usual good feeling a win brings. Instead, we take a look at the January transfer window incomings and outgoings, and we hear from Matt from the Holding The High Line on what Danny Wilson has meant to Colorado Rapids for the last five years, and what we can expect him to bring to QP. Finally, as always we look ahead to the next game, which this week is the third attempt to take on Dunfermline at East End Park.
Episode 64 - Snap Back To Reality
David, Enzo and Calum are back after a short break due to the Dunfermline game falling foul to the weather. Unfortunately it's not a happy return as we have to review the 2-1 defeat to Ayr United from last Saturday. We briefly manage to talk about some better things, like the latest QP Womens result, before it's back to worrying as we have our transfer deadline wishlist and a look ahead to the trip to Inverness this weekend.
Episode 63 - The Davolution Has Begun
Join us for a misery free episode (well, nearly) as we happily reflect on the start of the 'Davolution' with a comeback win vs Raith, all the latest news and gossip around the club, alongside previewing our next match against a depleted Dunfermline side.
Episode 62 - New Manager Bounce
There has been plenty going on around Queen's Park recently, and we sit down this week to discuss it all! From the defeat at Firhill to finally winning a game on Friday night against Dunfermline, to Leanne Dempster's departure from the club and Callum Davidson being announced as new head coach, we've got you covered.
Episode 61 - Seasons Bleatings
The boys are back after a break over Christmas, the day after a brutal injury-time winner for Airdrie in the latest Championship match, which may have had an effect on our morale going into this one. Plenty of games to talk about, a look at 2023 as a whole for the mens team, but finally a little bit of good news as we also discuss QP Women's season so far and the upcoming Scottish Cup game at Lesser Hampden.
Episode 60 - The Veldman Era Ends
Calum, David and Enzo are back with a bumper episode. We briefly skim through the loss to Inverness before delving into the exciting, and quite frankly scary, potential managerial appointments that might be possible after Veldman's departure. We also preview this coming Saturday's massive game away to Morton.
Episode 59 - The Beuker Era Ends
There may have been no game last week, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to discuss. David, Enzo and Calum are back to cover the big talking point of Director of Football Marijn Beuker leaving to take up a similar role at Dutch giants Ajax. They also discuss long time QP man Gardner Speirs leaving the club, before turning their attention to a potentially massive game against Inverness this Saturday.
Episode 58 - Big Smiles
Calum, David, and Enzo reflect on yet another disappointing afternoon at Firhill as Queen's Park exit the Scottish Cup. We also "look forward" to our upcoming trip to Dunfermline as Championship action returns, as well as taking a look at all the news and updates from around the club.
Episode 57 - Run Enzo, Run
After a week off that some may call a mental health check, David, Enzo and Calum are back to discuss the brutal defeat to Raith Rovers at Hampden that some of us couldn't even stick around to watch. In much happier news, we have fitness updates on two key players to discuss, and we also hear from Ellie Kane, captain of Queen's Park Women, on a fantastic season so far for the team and herself personally. We round off the episode with a look ahead to this weeks Scottish Cup 3rd Round tie against Partick Thistle.
Episode 56 - The Late Late Show
The guys are back again to discuss a dramatic comeback against Ayr, impressive achievements from the QP women's team, and a (un)surprisingly confident set of predictions for our next league game against Raith.
Episode 55 - Paton Anytime Goalscorer
Another week, another podcast, and thankfully another improving performance to discuss, this time the 2-2 draw with Partick Thistle at Hampden but it really should have been more for Queen's. Not much other news to discuss this week aside from a (relatively speaking) boring draw in the Scottish Cup 3rd Round, before looking ahead to a trip to Somerset Park to take on Ayr United.
Episode 54 - Friday Football Boing Boing
It feels a bit like 2022 again as David, Enzo and Calum bounce from one Friday game to another, reviewing the 1-1 draw against Airdrie before looking ahead (rather nervously) to this weeks Glasgow Derby with Partick Thistle at the home of Scottish football. And speaking of being nervous, they also take time to discuss the Marijn Beuker to Ajax move which appears to be days away from being confirmed.
Episode 53 - The Calum Ferrie Show
The guys are back to discuss our dismal exit from the SPFL Trust Trophy to Falkirk, a miraculous performance from Calum Ferrie, as well as being joined by Colin form the Airdrie podcast, Only The Lonely, to preview our game at the Excelsior on Friday.
Episode 52 - Can Everybody Please Get A Refund For That Game?
Calum, David, and Enzo chat about this weekend's 0-0 draw with Morton for as little time as possible, before moving on to discuss everything else that's been going on at the club, and the upcoming SPFL Trust Trophy fixture away to Falkirk.
Episode 51 - We're Dun Dee-fending This
David, Enzo and Calum haven't packed it in quite yet and are back to discuss our 5th league loss in a row vs Dundee Utd, alongside some reasons for optimism with a new signing and a massive game against fellow Championship league strugglers Morton on the horizon.
Episode 50 - DisastAyr
It was a poor showing on Friday night as Queen's Park went down 5-2 against Ayr United with some comical defending, and unfortunately that means David, Calum and Enzo have to relive the game in all its "glory". There's a look around the Championship including a very interesting managerial appointment in the Highlands, and of course a look ahead to the latest upcoming match, a nice easy trip to Tannadice as we aim to avoid five defeats in a row.
Episode 49 - A Pars-ical Return to Hampden
The boys are back from their summer holidays and after a quick recap of the SPFL Trust Trophy victory over Bala Town and thoughts on next round opponents Falkirk, it's into a poor 2-0 defeat to Dunfermline as Queen's return to Hampden. However, there's not too much time to dwell on the poor performance, as this Friday we host struggling Ayr United at the National Stadium.
Episode 48 - Out Of Office
With our automatic replies already set, it's one more get-together for David, Enzo and Calum to look back on the week that was. A pun-filled start to lift the spirits before going back to recap the 3-2 defeat away to Raith Rovers, the usual weekly news rundown and then of course looking ahead to a new opponent in Bala Town in the SPFL Trust Trophy 3rd Round. A match that will be watched around the world!
Episode 47 - Firhill For Chills
David, Calum and Enzo reflect on our first league loss of the season to Thistle, a round-up of the results around the league, and consider what changes need to be made to get a positive result against Raith on Saturday.
Episode 46 - Rockin' All Over The World
It's three wins from three to start the season, and the boys are back to discuss the 1-0 win away to Arbroath in a game that will go down in history as a football match. There's also an interesting cup draw to look forward to (for those that can actually go), but before that we have another cracking away day lined up with a trip to Firhill to take on Partick Thistle.
Episode 45 - Already Top Of The League And You're No
Calum, David, and Enzo recap our victory against Arbroath, as we prepare to play them for the second week in a row, this time at Gayfield. We also catch up on all the news and events going on around the club over the past week.
Episode 44 - It's Good To Be Back (Unless You're Billy Dodds)
The guys are back to recap the first league game (and victory) of the 23/24 Championship season, the latest transfer rumours, a look ahead to the first game of our Arbroath double header, alongside a special guest appearance from Queen's Park Woman's team head coach, Craig Joyce.
Episode 43 - The 23/24 Championship Preview Bonanza
David, Enzo and Calum are back with our second annual league preview episode with a look at all of our upcoming Championship competitors, where we disparage everything from their new signings to their fans and their stadiums. What better way to prepare for another wild season following the mighty Queen's Park FC?!
Bonus Episode - a (long) chat with Marijn Beuker
Calum, David and Enzo visited Lochinch for a face to face chat with Director of Football Operations at Queen's Park Marijn Beuker. They caught up about his career so far, how things are progressing at the club, and preparations for the 2023/24 season.
Episode 42 - Have We Got News For You
We're back for season 23/24 with a special new intro to celebrate Robin Veldman's arrival to Queen's Park! David, Enzo and Calum discuss the new head coach, as well as all the other news from the club that has broke in the last month or so, including the return to Glasgow, Adidas kits and the new additions to the playing squad.
Bonus Episode - a chat with Charlie Fox
Season 23/24 is upon us, and what better way to start than with talking with a man who figures to be an integral part of our upcoming campaign! David and Enzo sat down with Charlie Fox to discuss returning to Queen's Park, his thoughts on last season, and how pre-season is going now that he's back in the squad (although not before name-dropping a very exclusive training session he attended on holiday in Dubai)!
Episode 41 - The 1st STP POTY Awards!
David, Enzo and Calum are back for the final time for the 22/23 season to host our very own Player of the Year Awards as we look back on a wild year in the Scottish Championship. Another in-person recording with plenty of refreshments fuelling the ramblings that help us recall the season, and also plenty of daft awards between the serious ones, before we finally announce the winner of the highly coveted 22/23 Spiders Talk Player of the Year!
Episode 40 - Owen Coyle Leaves Queen's Park
Calum, David, and Enzo briefly discuss our disappointing exit from the Premiership playoffs before moving on to more pressing matters; the possibility of Queen's Park entering a B team into the newly proposed Conference League, and Owen Coyle's surprise departure from the club.
Episode 39 - Here We Go Again
The guys are back, battered and bruised, to chat through losing out on the Championship title to Dundee on Friday. We take a moment to appreciate THAT goal from Charlie Fox, and look ahead to the start of the playoffs against Partick Thistle.
Episode 38 - Three Points From Glory
Calum, David, and Enzo reflect on a disappointing defeat in Greenock, before moving on to discuss the biggest game the club have played in any of our lifetimes. Queen's Park are just 3 points away from winning the Scottish Championship, and securing promotion to the top tier for the first time since 1958; can the team make history?
Episode 37 - It's Simple, Really
Two league games left in the season, and somehow we are still in with a shot at winning the whole thing! David, Enzo and Calum discuss the 0-0 draw against Ayr United, and get a chance to talk about the latest news from Queen's Park including the ticket arrangements for the potential title showdown vs Dundee. But before we can focus too much on that, we have to go to Greenock for a must-win game against Morton...
Episode 36 - Three Cup Finals To Go
Calum, David and Enzo are back - full of hope and optimism - to discuss Queen's finally getting back to winning ways against Hamilton. We cover Dundee throwing away points against Morton, and whether the league title might head to the Southside after all...
Episode 35 - It Is Now
The poor form continues for Queen's Park, and unfortunately David, Calum and Enzo have to make some sense of what happened at Firhill last Friday, try and work out what changes to make for the run-in, and continue to make bold predictions for the next game, against Hamilton at "home".
Episode 34 - They Think It's All Over
A second defeat in a row with a disappointing 2-0 away loss to Raith Rovers makes it a difficult match review for David, Calum and Enzo. However, review it they do, and after a quick news round-up it's back to looking ahead positively to this weeks big game against Partick Thistle.
Episode 33 - Keep The Faith
Back to reality for Calum, David and Enzo after a tough loss to Arbroath. This episode has a short and painful review of the loss, a look back on one year of Owen Coyle, and some optimism as we look ahead to Raith Rovers away.
