Ep. 32 - Lululemon Presents: The Road to Mental Health w/ Ally Maz
If you can listen to only one episode, sit down with this one! Franqi and Stephen are on a quest to learn how to stay mentally healthy. Both Franqi and Stephen have gone through a lot of trauma that has been manifesting itself in various ways through life, and especially through the pandemic.
In this episode, Franqi and Stephen sit down with Ally Maz; the author of Girlvana, yoga teacher and entrepreneur, to discuss some of their early life traumas, how they have tried to deal with them in the past without help, and where they currently are on their mental health journey. Ally provides excellent insight into how to deal with those traumas, how to move forward and how we can all become masters of our own mental health!
Give it a listen, and please let us know what you think about it. If you like it, give it us a lil comment, share it with all the people and subscribe!! AND MAKE SURE to give Ally's book a read in this link right hurrrrr!

Ep. 30 - Black Women in Comedy Laff Fest
Joanna Briley hops on to chat with us about the Black Women in Comedy Laff Fest, a comedy festival in New York City that showcases Black women from across the country. Although it is still in its early years, the festival is already gaining attention from industry nationwide. Give this episode a listen and learn a little bit before the festival blows all the way up!
Ep 29 - Gyrl Wonder
Tola Lawal is one of the most impressive entrepreneur / philanthropist / hustlers we've had the opportunity to speak to. She has created a network and mentoring program for Black girls to get experience in large corporate and arts-oriented environments so they are exposed to new opportunities and new networks. It's a truly revolutionary way to "reach back" and we LOVED speaking with her.
Give it a listen and DO NOT FORGET TO SHARE!!!
Ep 28 - Gab Squad!!
Gab Bonesso is such a ray of sunshine! Her musical comedy act tours around the country's elementary and high schools to teach kids about bullying and empathy. She is so wonderful and you should definitely give this one a listen!
Ep. 24 - Women of Color in Cannabis (WOCC)
Pat and Lo are maybe my favorite people ever! While weed legalization gets on its way in New York, WOCC is working to make sure Black women have a seat at the table. Traditionally wealthy white entrepreneurs are the ones who move in once legalization takes place (ie Denver), and these guys are working to make sure the promise of equitable distribution is realized.
We LOVED talking with Pat and Lo AND we are starting a monthly (in person!) comedy show with WOCC in Bushwick on July 22nd. Give it a listen, support WOCC and come laugh with us in July!
Ep. 25 - Solo Dolo
Just Franqi and Stephen catching up! Talking about the big opportunities that have come from this podcast, what is to come (and what secret projects we're working on)
Also, Stephen accidentally eats a 300mg edible....
Ep 23 - The Sierra Club Talking Soil Degradation
It's Earth Day baby and we're talking about dirt!! It's the least talked about environmental issue that everyone should know about. It's how we feed our people, and it has effects on the water we drink.
Proper soil management is the only way we will be able to move forward as a people (assuming we want to eat), and you should give this a listen to get a taste of why it is so important.
Mary Chambers is on the council of regenerative agriculture for the Sierra Club and she's a big ol wealth of knowledge. Give it a listen, share and tell your weird uncle about it!
Ep 22 - 420 with The Heavenly Center
The Heavenly Center was started by Scott Storch and Joe Schrank to use cannabis to combat drug addiction. There are so many rehab facilities out there, and the work The Heavenly Center is doing is truly remarkable! There recidivism rates are the lowest in the area, and they do it all through weed baby!!
We get high, and Nick and Joe school us on the benefits of rehab through cannabis. It's a great listen... So listen!
Then give it a share / like / comment / tell your mama!
Ep 21 - Let's Talk Allyship with Alice Wetterlund, Jackie Steele, Rae and Tim Clinton
We discuss white allyship in terms of achieving equal rights for Black people. We talk about how to deal with fatigue in championing Black people's rights, how to talk to your family in a way that leads to progress, and how white people can help in different ways.
The conversation was incredibly enlightening and we think you should give it a listen, and give it a share!
Ep 20 - Mother Lab
We talk about the difference in medical treatment Black women receive as opposed to other demographics. A lot of eye-opening conversations (for non-Black humans) about the huge disparity between the medical treatment Black women receive in the US.
PLEASE go check out Mother Lab at Tufts University and the work they are doing. Dr. Ndidiamaka Amutah-Onukagha leads the team, and listening to her speak is truly inspiring. Learn a lil, laugh a lil, and share this episode!
Ep 19 - Hawk and Chivona Newsome w/ BLM of Greater New York
This one was a real honor! Activists, legal scholars, politicians, and overall great humans; Hawk and Chivona embody the revolutionary thought process and goals that the Black Lives Matter movement strives for. Hawk and Chivona started BLM of Greater New York from their mother's kitchen table, and to get a snapshot into where they are now was really inspiring!
Franqi's first guest she wanted to get on the show was Hawk Newsome, and to have the opportunity to speak with him and Chivona was a treat to say the least. Give it a listen!
Ep. 18 - The TEAK Fellowship
We had Oye Car and Dan Blednick on this episode to talk about giving kids the opportunity to succeed in the competitive NYC educational space through a holistic approach - everything from providing sports equipment, to meeting with counselors and parents to make sure people going through the TEAK program (Starting at 6th grade!) are given every opportunity to excel, and reach their full potential!
Also, Stephen has a mustache and everyone LOVED it!
Ep 17 - Breakthrough NYC
Franqi and Stephen chatted with Carina Cruz, Ferni Cruz, and Jomar Lopez from Breakthrough New York to discuss their mentorship program that takes kids in underserved communities and offers guidance for 10 years as they make their way through the competitive landscape that is the New York schooling system.
Breakthrough is working wonders to address societal education access, and you should be learned up on all of it!
Ep. 16 - America Needs You with Dr. Theo Fowles and Jerome Joseph
Dr. Theo and Jerome are two incredible souls, educators and change makers from America Needs You, a group who supports first generation college students by offering mentors and a network to not only succeed in higher education, but to capitalize on that education once they graduate. We talk about real solutions to inequity and how to take understanding "it's not what you know, but who you know" and building an environment for people who have grown up with less privilege, and less access to social capital to excel.
Ep. 15 - Edmundite Missions of Selma, Alabama
Supporting the community of Selma is full of incredibly hard and rewarding work. We spoke to Chad McEachern of the Edmundite Missions in Selma about learning from a community before coming up with ways to help. They're building up the Black farming communities, and providing everything from food to educational support to the city, and they're doing it in a way we hope to be replicated throughout the country!
Ep. 14 - HEADstrong Foundation: Channeling grief into something beautiful
Franqi had just got out of the hospital and Stephen had just lost a friend to brain cancer the day before, so it ended up being the perfect time to speak to Pat Colleluori from the HEADstrong Foundation.
The episode is a bit more somber than the ones before it, but we had an uplifting conversation about how Pat and his brother Nicholas started HEADstrong in response to seeing the hardships families endure when finding treatment for their loved ones who have been diagnosed with cancer. Pat's got a great outlook on life and a lot to teach about channeling grief in a socially beneficial way.
Give it a listen, and let us know what you think (Also, give us all the 5 star ratings!)
Non Prophets Ep. 13 - Cabin Fever Comedy
Andrew Nadeau, Nash Flynn and Just Some Guy join us to chat about the virtual fundraising comedy show they've been running out of Chicago and Boston to support Black Lives Matter. We had a great conversation about how white people can be allies to support black causes.
Are we biased? Yes, BUT I think this was the funniest episode yet. Give it a listen pretty please!
Non Prophets Ep. 12 - Avenues for Justice
We've got Weston and Johnny back from Avenues for Justice! We talk about incarceration and recidivism for teens and young adults in New York City and the environment that leads to these issues.
Non Prophets Ep. 11 - Oliver Scholars' Dr. Danielle Moss
We CANNOT get enough of Dr. Moss! She has such a wonderful energy and she has accomplished so much with the constant goal of providing opportunities to Black and Latino students in New York City, and beyond!
In this episode we discuss diversity and inclusion in the workplace, school and the nonprofit sector (Where only 8% of executives are people of color). Franqi and Dr. Moss discuss their personal experiences of encountering discrimination in the workplace, and how we can work together to create a more equitable environment for everyone to succeed in. Give it a listen, and make sure to support the work Oliver Scholars is doing!
Non Prophets Ep. 10 - Feed the People Mutual Aid w/ Charity Sade
Feed the People is a mutual aid organization. What is mutual aid?? Well you're just going to have to listen to find out. We had a wonderful time speaking with Charity about the work she is doing to keep the people of Washington, DC fed, clothed, and provided with their basic needs.
Charity is a beautiful soul and a standup comic who has been working over the last couple years to provide a number of services to humans throughout the District to survive and thrive. It was such a pleasure to speak with her, and it will be an even greater pleasure to give this episodea listen!
Non Prophets Ep. 9 - Lululemon and ABC Food Tours w/ Matt James
This one is a big ol doozy!! We are so excited to announce our partnership with Lululemon! We discuss food security, access to health information in lower socioeconomic areas, and eating Sour Patch Kids in bed.
Franqi and Stephen are working with companies that are driving social change, and discussing how we can learn more about the life experiences of people outside of our bubbles. This is a great show and I say that in the most unbiased way possible.
Non Prophets Ep. 8 - 3rd Decade
We're talking money babyyyyy!! On this episode we sit down with a dear friend, Scott Bennett to discuss the work 3rd Decade is doing to provide financial literacy to those that may not have it (including myself and Franqi!).
From helping teachers put away enough money to retire, to speaking to young families that wish to see some semblance of "the American dream." 3rd Decade works with populations that typically have a tougher time achieving that dream, and gives them the tools to get there!
We find out that Beanie Babies are not the investment I thought they were, and that not all financial advisors are promoting Bitcoin as a sure bet going into 2021. We all learned a lot!
Non Prophets Ep. 7 - WE ACT for Environmental Justice
The Non Prophets Podcast with Franqi French and Stephen Campbell consists of jokes for charity folks! In this episode Franqi and Stephen discuss the environment and how animals are the only ones who can tell humans how to live.
Then we have Kerene Tayloe Esq. on to talk about her group WE ACT for Environmental Justice and the work they are doing to fight for environmental rights for underserved communities. When we think of environmental activism, we often think of far off glaciers and pipelines, but Kerene fights to make sure people are provided with basic rights where they play, stay and pray!
Non Prophets Ep. 6 - Commonpoint Queens
The Non Prophets podcast with Franqi French and Stephen Campbell consists of jokes for charity folks! On this episode Franqi and Stephen discuss their experience with youth sports (Stephen was overworked by racist mountain dwellers and Franqi fenced with a piece of wood).
Then we have Jared Mintz from Commonpoint Queens join us! Commonpoint Queens has been instrumental in delivering food to the elderly through the pandemic in Queens. They also provide a litany of services to the local community ranging from after school programs to job training. These dudes have done more for Queens than Nas!
Non Prophets Ep. 5 - Oliver Scholars
The Non Prophets with Franqi French and Stephen Campbell is a podcast with jokes for charity folks. Franqi and Stephen work out new material on growing up (Stephen mediated fights between Latin and White Power gangs, and Franqi found a stash of lunch meat under a bed!).
Then we sit down with Joanna Dejesus and Dr. Danielle Moss from Oliver Scholars to discuss the work they are doing to help elevate promising Black and Latino students in New York City. Give it a listen, especially if you live in New York!
Non Prophets Ep. 4 - Comedy Gives Back
The Non Prophets Podcast with Franqi French and Stephen Campbell is a podcast with jokes for charity folks. Franqi and Stephen work out new material about the worst jobs they've had and what they would be doing if it was not for comedy. Then they sit down with Jodi Lieberman (Producer of Just For Laughs Festival and Founder of JLC Entertainment), Zoe Friedman (Owner of the Improv Franchise), and Amber J Lawson (CEO of Comedy Gives Back).
Comedy Gives Back has been helping out of work comedians find financial and mental health support for quite some time, but really ramped up their ability to make an impact when Covid hit. This was my favorite episode yet (Don't tell the others!) so give it a listen!
Non Prophets Ep. 3 - Standup Girls
The Non Prophets Podcast with Franqi French and Stephen Campbell is a podcast with jokes for charity folks. Franqi and Stephen work out new material on what they'd do if it weren't for comedy, and sit down with Holly Harper and Nancy Temper to discuss empowering young women through standup.
Non Prophets Ep. 2 - We're Going Solo Dolo!
Non Prophets with Franqi French and Stephen Campbell is a podcast with jokes for charity folks. Franqi and Stephen work out new material!
Non Prophets Ep. 1 - Avenues for Justice
The Non Prophets Podcast with Franqi French and Stephen Campbell is a podcast with jokes for charity folks. Franqi and Stephen work out new material on recidivism and then sit down with Wes Muench from Avenues for Justice to talk about the work they are doing.
Avenues for Justice works with promising teens and young adults who have been incarcerated to give them a second opportunity. The average rate of recidivism for people who have been incarcerated is 60%. People who go through the AFJ program see a 5% return rate. Give the episode a listen and learn how!
