Downtime in Daytona

This episode is dedicated to the gem to the west of Daytona Beach known as Deland, FL. I interview JT Thompson from the Stetson Mansion and I also speak with Larry and Robin French from Great Tasting Tours. Doug Canney joins me to discuss local comedy shows and we learn that his father was, well, never mind you’ll learn more after you listen. Michelle Lamb from Fun Coast Food Tours talks to me about how they plan to teach visitors about the great tastes of the town in Ormond Beach. Later I get a call from Sue at the Casements, the winter home of the late John D. Rockefeller.

This week, Doug Canney and I go down the rabbit hole with Rauce Padgett, a professional touring comic who co-hosts the Jim Colbert Show on Orlando’s Real Radio 104.1; we discuss Rauce being pulled over by the police and being attacked by a police dog (actually 2 separate occasions, one of which he literally asked for). After we call the most haunted house in Daytona, Lillian Place and learn that Doug lives in fear. Question; where would you rather be stranded? Ocala or Homosassa?

This episode I introduce and interview a person I will be entering into a joint venture with and will also have sitting in over the next couple of weeks, Doug Canney. Doug is a nationally touring comedian you may have seen on HBO, NBC, and the WB, he plans to launch a podcast of his own that will quickly outperform mine, but now I can say “I knew him back in the day” and he will be forced to invite me to sit in on his pod.
