"What is the 4th of July to the Negro?" Without the "Damages paid to loyal men?"
In this episode of Sit With Iky podcast, The Sticky Iky Truth discusses emancipation, independence, slavery, reparations, repatriation, and more.
By referring to speeches addressed by Fredrick Douglass a nationally recognized abolitionist orator. Fredrick Douglass, delivered a speech in Rochester, NY at the event commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Also a formally enslaved man, Douglass asked the crowed on July 5, 1852, "Do you mean, citizens, to mock me, by asking me to speak today?" Tune in as Iky, slows it down a little so you can keep up. Next Iky, will discuss the most popular and debated topic for the Black African Americans in this country, that of which is reparations. Iky, will go in depth and further read text from the Bill (H.R. no 20) relative to damages to loyal men and other purposes, proposed, Thaddeus Stevens of Pennsylvania on March 19, 1867. This is a deep dive into all the rhetoric and topics of viral discussions. Iky will also use an image tittle "Emancipation" created by "The Father of American Political Cartoons" Thomas Nast images to interpret with her Real Eyes! This photos speak volumes of the 1800s through impressionism art and tt speaks, We still are not free, today !
As the pomp & circumstance begin, remember to Know Thyself and demand what is owed, Black Power !

Enough with the "Pomp & Circumstance"
Welcome back to S.I.T with Iky podcast !
This episode was a live recording on Tiktok @ikynanimob. Due to the continuous nature of the algorithm banning the African diaspora at an alarming rate yet perpetuating a community of equality, while only given attention to a culture of instant gratification. This has become an act of "Pomp & Circumstance" that has pushed us into a declining state.
Here I discuss certain topics around music, social media, financial freedom, activism, and civil rights in reference to Dr. Martin Luther King Day on January 16, 2023. I will leave you with this quote from Dr. King himself, " Until we commit ourselves to ensuring the underclass is given justice and opportunity, we will continue to perpetuate the anger and violence that tears the soul of his nation. I fear I am integrating my people into a burning house."

Know thyself in a Relationship
I have noticed an increase of people giving relationship advice solely based on materialism and/ or wealth. It's important to know what you want and what you need in order to thrive together but survive alone. On this episode of S.I.T with Iky, I help to break down the issues in relationships, family and friendships. I am here to offer education, experience and a strong foundation as an example.
