Neil and Noopur Parmar are a very special couple. Their journey together began during university in Edmonton, then, to New York City where they began their professional careers and finally to Abu Dhabi where they began to embark on their greatest journey yet: starting a family. Little did they know that this decision would change their life forever.

Still Surviving 005_ Darrick
Growing up, life wasn’t exactly easy for Darrick — his parents went through a divorce and his Dad ended up in jail. In their own right, both those events would be enough to knock anyone off their axis. It wasn't until Darrick entered his teenage years that his life would take him on a path that he never could have anticipated. guided by his faith and his love of film, darrick has channelled his experiences in a way that is nothing short of inspiring.
In this episode, I chat with Darrick and learn about how he is still surviving after losing both parents in his early 20’s.

Alexandra Gater is a Toronto -based YouTuber with a focus on millennial and budget-friendly decor. Her channel boasts over 270k subscribers and she’s been featured in publications such as Apartment Therapy and Domino. However, YouTube wasn’t her first, second, or even 100th career choice. Fresh out of school, Alexandra landed what felt like a dream job at a magazine. What she didn’t realize is how this role would shape her in ways both professionally and personally and change her life forever.

Carla was no stranger to life’s curveballs, having survived many in her younger years. No matter what never let anything stop her from chasing her dream of becoming a schoolteacher — and she was, as she describes, “one of the lucky ones” who landed a competitive permanent position at a school board. During her 3rd year of teaching, Carla began to feel tired — exhaustion that she had never experienced before. Little did she know that the cause of her exhaustion would be her biggest curveball yet.
