Jesus is better than any spirituality
Jesus is better than any path of spirituality. We long to know God or get in touch with some sort of spiritual plane of existence.
We may tempted to look for spiritual fulfillment through various avenues: yoga, meditation, mindfulness. Yet Jesus is the fullness of spirituality. Hebrews 1:5-2:4.
God has spoken - Hebrews 1
We do not need to wonder or wander, God has spoken!
I wonder what God is like? I wonder if he is there? We do no need to wonder, for God has spoken in Jesus.
Where can I find God? In nature? In this spiritual practice? In this place?
We do not need to wander, for God has spoken in Jesus. In him God is revealed and we can know him.
The insider and Outsider - John 3-4
Two more people encounter Jesus.
In terms of social standing and class, you could not find two people more at the opposite ends. Thought so different, Jesus says to both, you need living water/must be born again.
Come and See 2: Jesus and the Sceptic
Nathaniel responds to the invitation come and See! People are needed to extend the invitation. He meets Jesus a sceptic and ends a believer.
Come and see!
Jesus has a question for us all: what are you really looking for?
His answer: come and see!
Look at my life, lived for God and for others, my life for you.
God and the spiritually satisfying life is found not through rituals, religion (traditional or otherwise) or rules. Neither is God found in a spiritual path of your own choosing or awakening.
It is found in the person of Jesus: come and see!
