The fourth and final episode of the podcast series 'Sustainability Made in Europe: A Policy Podcast on Finance, Reporting & Governance' focusses on the EU Taxonomy for Sustainable Activities. The Taxonomy is analyzed by Antje Schneeweiß, Member of the Platform on Sustainable Finance and Kristina Jeromin, Managing Director of the Green and Sustainable Finance Cluster Germany. We will touch upon the three following aspects throughout the episode:
- We will take a closer look on how the Taxonomy actually works
- We will trace back why and how the discussion about the Taxonomy has changed in recent months
- And we will try to give an outlook on the future developments of the Taxonomy

The third episode of the podcast 'Sustainability Made in Europe: A Policy Podcast on Finance, Reporting & Governance' focusses on the proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The directive is analyzed by Sven Gentner, Head of Corporate Reporting, Audit and Rating Agencies at the European Commission's Directorate General for Financial Stability, Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DF FISMA) and Alexander Bassen, Professor for Capital Markets and Management at the University of Hamburg. We are investigating the three following questions throughout the episode:
- Why we need a new regulation for sustainability reporting that amends the NFRD
- What the scope and the impact of the CSRD will be
- How the CSRD is connected to other sustainability initiatives and reporting frameworks
The Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive
The second episode of the podcast Sustainability Made in Europe: A Policy Podcast on Finance, Reporting & Governance focusses on the proposal for a Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). The directive is analyzed by Anna Cavazzini, Member of the European Parliament for the Greens/EFA Group. Rachel Widdis, Professor of Business and Human Rights, adds her academic perspective to the current initiative. We are investigating the three following questions throughout the episode:
- What is the scope of the CSDDD?
- What are the most conflicted topics in the commission’s draft?
- What is its impact? How will it affect businesses in the EU and along supply chains?
