The Super Serb Nemanja returns!
This week's podcast has our successful sports coach Nemanja Topovic from Serbia returns to tell us all about the MS Basketball team in the first part of the show.
He also informed us on the show about an imminent arrival to the Topovic family of his first born in September!
Congratulations to Jelana and Nemanja from everyone at SWIS!
Thankfully, the second part of the show was far superior with a G7 student telling us about the HS Girls Football team and her transition from life in Canada where she grew up before moving back to China two years ago.
She also explains why she prefers the IB education system used at SWIS than her previous school in Canada.
Here are some of the questions from the show.
- How has HS Girls Football team performed thus far this season? What are some positives we can take away?
- How has MS Girls Basketball team performed thus far this season? What are some positives we can take away?
- What’s it like coaching at SWIS?
- Have you found your sport experiences rewarding? Why?
AD Josh Youngman talks basketball and soccer.....
Students from Grade 10 &Grade 7 brief us on the HS Boys Football and MS Girls Basketball seasons.
We get to hear about how the IB profile fits into athletics and how sport helps incoming DP students.
Have a listen!

St.Patrick was a Sportsman at SWIS
This afternoon we recorded an extra special Sports Podcast on SWIS ROC Radio.
What started out as an ordinary sports podcast, quickly descended in to an all out St.Patrick's Day show!
Pat Mustard (a famous Irish Character in the hit show Fr.Ted who actually died yesterday...RIP Pat) was played by our AD Josh Youngman.
We had Winnie from the MYP playing the role of Mrs Doyle (another character in this show ).
They both were on the show to speak about the sports department at SWIS and their excellent recent achievements.
Alongside, Pat and Mrs Doyle, was Emmet O' Halloran from Tulla in East Clare.
Emmet is the Product Design Teacher at SWIS and is a highly accomplished accordion player (allegedly).
He played a number of tunes on the accordion during the show.

We brought our own unique brand of Irish Humor to todays show. We hope you enjoy it.
This morning/afternoon we raised 3300RMB for the Cambodia Orphanage at SWIS Shenzhen (www.swis.cn) in only 25 minutes through the sales of Irish Flags & Ribbons as well as face painting.
To all the Irish at home and abroad we wish you an enjoyable St.Patrick's Weekend.
Stay safe, have fun and do us proud as always Ted!

The return of SWIS Athletes to SWIS ROC Radio
We recorded an excellent Podcast today with a number of MS and HS students talking about the sports program at SWIS.
To hear what the students are talking about you will get a better idea from the questions Mr. JoshUA Youngman, our highly respected, Athletics Director provided for the host.
- How has the MS Girls Volleyball team progressed throughout the year?
- What will the team (MS Girls VB) need to go to get into the top four teams in SISAC?
- How do you think the team will fare in the final PRC tournament (for MS G VB)?
- HS badminton participated in a friendly PRC competition — how did it go?
- With the final PRC Badminton competition upcoming — How will SWIS compare based on previous competition?
- What changes do you see from last year to this year (for HS Badminton)?
We hope you enjoy the show.

Happy International Women's Day to everyone!
SWIS Sports
Annie Waterston from the far away fields of Bonny Scotland makes her debut on the show. As well as teaching PE (in her beautiful Green/White 1980'sesque Shell Suit) Annie is the CAS and SA Coordinator at SWIS.
We also have Letitia from Indonesia on the show; a new student to SWIS this year we hear about her new found love of sport and life in China. She is loving her new school SWIS.
Richard is an avid sportsman and basically plays any sport that he can - with football being his favorite.
We hope you enjoy the show.
The SWIS Model United Nations (MUN) Team
This afternoon we recorded an excellent podcast with the students and their supervisors from the MUN Team Mrs Maria Chaytor and Ms.April D
Our students Bhumija, Khushi, Jessie, Jessica from Grades 9-11 spoke excellently about the Model United Nations Conference that they attended last weekend in UISZ Guangzhou. Bhumija - who is President of MUN at SWIS spoke passionately about topics such as Indigenous Rights that were debated during the conference.
We concluded the podcast with a very brief (far too brief) interview/interrogation of Ms.Dalbello and Mrs.Chaytor who gave us some background information about themselves. We hear the heart warming...story of how Mrs.Chaytor met and fell in love with Mr.Robert Chaytor....many, many, many years ago!
We hope you enjoy the show!
