Think Happy Thoughts, with Janet Martin
We have Janet Martin as a live guest this week on The Third Wave. Janet is a very good friend of mine and fellow podcaster, who is also a public speaker and coach.
Besides being an expert on vision boards and helping people transform their lives, Janet has a fascinating philosophy: think happy thoughts. When faced with a difficult time or thinking about life, she says “shhh” to all those negative thoughts to only leave space for happy and positive ones.
(This has been one of the few episodes I’ve been able to record live with the guest in front of me, and I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as Janet and I had fun recording it!)

Overcoming Overwhelm, with Angie Monko
This week's guest week is the fantastic Angie Monko, a transformational life coach who mainly helps women be more productive.
According to Angie, the “not enough-ness” is very damaging. Her practice focuses on helping women be more kind to themselves. By doing this, they can produce more in their lives with less effort. In this era where the imposter syndrome is at its peak, it’s important to remind ourselves that we’re doing all we can and ARE more than enough.

The White Collar Savage, with Branden Coluccio
Welcome back to The Third Wave! This week, we welcome Branden Coluccion to the show.
Many entrepreneurs end up building their businesses but mostly get stuck in this dynamic of having to work very hard for no reason. So, instead of having an asset, they have a high-paying job. That’s where Brandon comes in: he helps entrepreneurs actually grow their businesses into assets they can make the most of, instead of just becoming slaves of their startups. It’s not just about making money on our own; we need to know how to balance our work life with our personal life!

What to Do When You’re Doing Too Well, with Tanya Dotson-Winckler
This week, our guest is the amazing Tanya Dotson-Winckler. She helps business owners, entrepreneurs and high performers gain back some time for their personal lives.
She was actually doing extremely well, with a bunch of clients, coaching all day long, etc. But running a business requires some resource management, time management, many things besides actually doing what you do.
At some point, close to burnout, she decided it was time to create a program that allowed her to do her things but still set aside some time for herself. And it worked! So she started helping others and sharing her experience. Today, it’s our turn to listen to her story.

Welcome to a new episode of The Third Wave! Our guest this week is Chris Williams, a particular type of coach who teaches experts how to build high ticket masterminds.
Chris started multiple agencies over the years and eventually started running a digital marketing agency in a very smooth way: traveling a lot, working only a couple hours of work per week, etc. When people started asking him why his business was working so well, he realized that he could sell knowledge and information, so he pivoted to selling how to build masterminds on the whole. He’s got a very interesting story to tell and we thank him for sharing it here with us!

Simple Solutions for Life, with Ana Natkins
Welcome to a new episode of The Third Wave! Our guest this week is Ana Natkins, founder of Ana’s Simple Solutions. Ana is mom to two children with ADHD. Lovely, brilliant and extremely impulsive kids, which made her realize that she needed to spend more time with them to help them thrive, instead of just dropping them off at daycare.
She was able to stay at home, raising and homeschooling them while continuing to follow her passion for project management and data management. She now helps CEO’s or business owners maintain a healthy work-life balance and wants to train more people in doing what she does. Welcome back to The Third Wave! My guest this week is Kathy Bernard and she helps people surf out the job-hunting wave. A few years back, she found herself without work and people were giving her all kinds of (wrong) advice to get back on track. And she said stop it! On Intention
This week’s guest is very good at something very cool. Kim Lebbing started out as a health coach several years ago but has evolved into helping people find intention and meaning in their lives by improving their mindset. By improving the way of life of so many people, she has also specialized and now helps more people at once: the ones that aren’t happy with where they are, the ones that aren't happy with how fast they're moving, and the ones that have had success before but haven't had that level ever again. Company is Stronger Than Will
Coach Rahti has developed her practice after decades of all kinds of influences--theater, comedy, mindfulness, yoga--and realizing that helping people overcome the "starting but can't finish" that tends to hit some entrepreneurs who society would consider neurodivergent.
She knows the value of surrounding yourself with the right people. "Company is Stronger Than Will" is the drumbeat that you hear throughout her practice and personality, and she helps people learn who to surround themselves with as well.
Find out more at creativecallingcoaching.com where you can find all things Coach Rahti, and be sure to subscribe for her FREE gift: 3 Steps to Decision Making. Enjoy the listen.

Systematic Bookifying
This week on the Third Wave, we welcome John Feldman. He started coaching people on how to actually start writing their books because, let’s face it, everyone has an idea for a book, but only a few (8% of the people who think about it, actually) end up writing their first draft and then keep working on it until they have a finished book. John helps that percentage go up! Find John on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JohnFeldmanAuthor/ Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/John-Feldman/e/B00JG75SCI

Welcome to the Dojo!
If you're in the tech or software space at all, you might have heard about Agile Coaching. It's the style of coaching that focuses on blending systems, visibility, programming styles and dashboards to get software released faster and at higher quality. Unfortunately, Agile Coaching has been so blended and adjusted by every company's idea of what Agile is, that not many of these companies actually do it right (if at all).
Enter: Dojo Coaching.
Dojo Coaching is a hands-on way to solve the coding challenges that companies often have, but it also focuses on the person as a whole. And this is great, because the younger Generation Z workforce cares less about how much money they make, and a lot more about how they feel about where they work. When a company invests in this kind of coaching, it results in massive retention of your development team.
Jess "Dojo" Brock is the real deal. Listen in and learn more.
Welcome to the Dojo!

Making Shepherds
Matthew Brackett and I are in the Business Leaders Networking group together, and today I got to learn a lot about his background. It turns out that after a 30-year span in ministry as a Chaplain, he left the ministry to eventually use his skills to help people lead from the heart. As you might know, true leadership comes not from a, "Do as I say, not as I do," mindset, but one where you become the kind of person that people want to follow. People who truly follow someone do so because that person is trustworthy and respected. There's a lot in the leadership space that people assume is known just because someone's in that position. But that's not True. And Matthew helps people to truly lead. We got into some faith topics so weren't able to get all the questions--so stay tuned for Part 2 happening in the future! For now, though, enjoy the listen. And find Matthew at brackettalliance.com, and on LinkedIn and Instagram. And check out his Results Accelerator and Couples Workshops!

From Iconic CEO to Iconic Business Hub
Awesome chat with Carlos Adell, who pivoted from being a holistic business coach to building platforms that help entrepreneurs scale in record time. For the people who, like him, just don't want to fool around with coordinating multiple pieces of software and managing all the things, he's got a plug-and-play platform that replaces all of the common tools that most entrepreneurs use when they're first starting out. Really enjoyed talking with Carlos and am looking forward to learning more from him in the years to come. Stop by ibusinesshub.us to find out more!

You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling (At Work), with Diana Alt
We had a great conversation which took us a little different direction than normal, but we covered a lot about the love language of different kinds of content, and also mindsets about job seeking in general. You won't wanna miss this one!

Leveling Up the F.A.S.T. Way
I often joke with guests that I never know what kind of conversation we’ll have when I hit the Record button, but Ken Golde is amazing to talk to. This guy has got focus and is a fast mover (pun totally intended). We’re releasing this episode earlier than normal because THIS FRIDAY he has a course launching here – if you’re interested in leveling up your leadership skills, take the time to go through the course. You won’t regret it.

At Your DeskSide
Victor and I finally got to meet after I was sick for the first attempt at our show. And believe me, this was worth the wait. Turns out that both our backgrounds are pretty similar, and we really hit it off! Victor's focal company, DeskSide, is poised to be the leading provider of not just IT services, but IT partnerships. It's evolving away from the project-based and retainer-based model, and moving toward positioning itself as a powerful partner to come alongside companies at any tech level and handle all that nerdy stuff. And it's an important aspect of business, because the less you have to think about everything else, the more you can focus on what's most important: serving your clients. Victor and I also talked about his book, "Accessing Your True Potential: Four Core Principles To Being The Best Version Of You". A compilation of the key concepts he's learned over a lifetime of reading 300+ books, it's packed full of powerful info, from habit management to sleep patterns, mindfulness, and a ton more. Excited to keep networking with Victor. Listen in now.

Pick Up Kettlebell, Comrade!
Fellow BLN member Cynthia Croissant and I were able to get to know each other on the show, and like a lot of entrepreneurs her journey took her on a really circuitous route. I learned a lot about her, and realized: this gal can probably vertical press me with no problem!
Her fitness coaching program is designed for the everyday person--usually, moms or middle-aged ladies--and is built from the ground up to help them increase strength and flexibility. But the difference is: she does so in a holistic way, including mindset, consistency, nutrition, and habit formation.
She got her specialty certification in Russian Kettlebells and graduated after a grueling process that would leave most people at risk of dropping a kettlebell on their heads. But she's used that strength, character, and high energy to be the best she can be, and to help her clients be the best they can be.
Cynthia's an absolute pleasure to talk with, and I already have some key intros to make.

Goaling For Two
Fellow St. Louisan Christine Martin and I got to talk about how she became a powerful Sales Coach, working for a company that got its start not long after the Civil War ended. She got her start selling educational material but later in life just felt like she could be doing more. Still something in sales but... different. Eventually, she found the world of coaching to be the next step in her career, and she hasn't looked back.

More Human Than Human - Part 2

More Human Than Human - Part 1

On Getting Unstuck
Justin Jacobs and I have gotten to know each other over the past year, and when we first met he had just started his coaching practice. Today I got the chance to dig deep into what his focus is.
Have you ever felt stuck in a job? Maybe you can feel in your bones that you're not living to your full potential, and although the pay is great you have almost a wanderlust to see what else is out there.
Or maybe you're the victim of an unfortunate reorganization and aren't sure what your next step is. You know you could go back into a similar job at a different place but that doesn't feel right.
Or maybe you're retiring from the military, but after 10, 20, or 30 years, with that being all you know, you're not sure how to integrate back into society.
These are all things Justin helps with.
I definitely enjoy Justin's laid-back tone and attitude about life, and I always feel like I can just open up around the guy. It was hard not to either, and I had to focus on the interview! You'll enjoy it too.

Always Be
Mary D'Amato and I got introduced by an amazing mutual friend, and I knew ahead of time through her energetic emails that we'd be a great fit for this podcast. And wonder of wonders: I was right!
Mary got her start in speaking and training executives. Now though her practice has evolved to take a really holistic view of leadership. There are massive gaps in leadership, particularly in how the younger generation is led--and willing to be led. Her practice helps uncover the gaps that really take place in the heart of people who are trying to lead. The best clients for her are people that are feeling the pain and knowing that their current approach isn't working, and will never work, and also who are willing to make the necessary change.
Mary's tough but soft. You can't go wrong working with her.
Enjoy the listen.

From REACTOR to CREATOR
Ly Smith and I are in a group called Business Leaders Network (BLN), and we got the chance to dig into what it was that got her on the path of becoming a public speaking coach. Unlike most people who have a deep-rooted fear of public speaking, Ly just gravitated toward it. It's almost like she didn't know she was SUPPOSED to be scared of this.
Later in life, her career took her in the direction of being a motivational speaker, encouraging people to "feed the correct wolf" of self-empowerment and positive talk. But when more people were asking her if she would coach them on public speaking, her first thought was to say, "No, I'm not a coach." But a deeply introspective conversation with herself led her to realize: the very tenets she was currently teaching her clients WOULD work if they were applied in this new direction.
The result? She couldn't rebrand fast enough!
Listen in to hear her story about how she got started, and the big goals she has after her huge pivot in August 2022.
After listening, email her at hello@upcyclecoaching.com, reach out to her on Facebook at https://facebook.com/ly.smith.speaker, and join her FREE Facebook group called "Speaking Confidently with Ly"
This is what The Third Wave is all about. Until next time.
