We are so excited about this episode with Margarita Sandino Director of Education for Dixon Gallery and Gardens. In this episode Fayetteville High School art teacher Rebecca Bianucci talks about her love of clay, making her classroom a safe space, how art can heal individuals and help heal communities, how failure is baked into the art process, and how grateful she is to be teaching at Fayetteville HS and how principal Mccormick and her co-workers make it feel like family. Brouquelle Deck has an amazing story about how she became the art teacher for one thousand three hundred fifty artists in Hamilton County. She is in her third year as a teacher and says she's never repeated a project! Her teacher and Episode 6 guest Dr. Jeremy Blair once stopped her mid class and said write down what you just said. " I really think I want them to show me what art is." This has become the guiding philosophy in her art classrooms. Bobbi Negrón is the art teacher at Paragon Mills Elementary School in Nashville, TN. Juan Rojo is an artist and runs his classes at Southwind HS like a studio.
