Also, we talk about celebrities like Zendaya "representing" the whole black community in mainstream media& being the black beauty standard and how colorism comes into play where we see a lack of darkskin representation in books, tv shows, movies, etc. Futhermore, we cover what it's like to be a black woman and the pressure and racism we face + our opinions on the recent Oscar's regarding Will Smith/Chris Rock, black women and hair, and even toxic masculinity. Also, different types of period stereotypes (discrimination) and stigmas and how it manifests in our society. Furthermore, how menstruation relates to human rights and even answering some frequently asked questions teens have about periods and their bodies. Plus, how you can be an ally to Native American community after learning about these dehumanizing schools that were built on the foundation of taking the beast out the man. In addition, we talk about the first boarding school designed for Native children, and how our government supported this initiative by funding it and how native peoples languages and culture began to die out as thousands of children were taken from their homes for this boarding schools. Plus, our host (Sharjah) talks about her own experience with anxiety/panic attacks, and depression even before covid started. In addition, we also talk about a lot of tips throughout the episode on how to improve your mental health and why this month really matters. Plus, in this episode our host (Sharjah) talks about her experiences/coming out story as being genderfluid, (their/her) pronouns. They also shares her story about why, how her friends, and family reacted + even coming out in school and emailing her teachers! Furthermore, she talks about her life after coming out, and even what girlflux means, which is under the branch of being non-binary, and genderfluid. This day honors the unfortunate decision made in an Italian Supreme Court twenty years ago, denim day aids to raise awareness on sexual assault, rape, domestic violence, consent, and the hope of survivors.

In this episode we talk about my opinions on the trial of Derek Chauvin that took place on Wednesday, April 20th, 2021 @ 4 pm est, and also the verdict: guilty on ALL CHARGES. Plus, how even though we have gotten just the top of the iceberg of justice for George Floyd, there are still thousands of racist cops who murder black people, and other minorities on a daily basis, and this needs to stop like 500 years ago. As just like a song says their is no real difference between a cop and an overseer as they both kill people for no reason, other than being black. 

We also touch base on the impact this verdict and trial had on the family, his little girl, and every black person in America. How 1 hour before the verdict was in another killing occurred, and how when are we gonna get justice, black people can't just be hashtags. We need real change, and need to reinvent the police and what they stand for because from what we can see the oath they took to "protect and serve" is a bunch of sh*t. They should be stopping the real criminals, instead of killing innocent black people for no reason other than "oh I thought it was a taser, I didn't mean to kill a 20 year old father and have him left on the street for 6 hours. oops my bad". Seriously?

We also break down Sarah Everard case, and why it was important in starting a global movement where women start a conversation on the oppressions we have faced for centuries. Some other things that we talk about in this episode is how men, and other genders can be an ally to our community and to women, plus why it's important to be safe and how we have to care twice as much about everything than a man does. Lastly, we talk about why "not all man" is problematic, and 6 reasons why this phrases needs to stop!

In last episode of season 1, we discuss anti-asian hate as we ask a series of questions to both of these amazing online communities built by teens. the two featured are the Asian Youth Act (co-founder Ngan Le) & To All The Asians (founder: Makayla Cheng) who are two youth organizations all about educating gen z about the importance of asian lives. This was especially an important episode for us to talk about and share as you all have probably heard about the asian hate crimes that have been happening for the last couple of months, and even years. However they have been getting much worse as more asians in the US have been getting attacked, and even killed. In this episode we cover everything from what we can do to become an ally to the asian community to how this pandemic has made these hate crimes even worse. Make sure to listen to both interviews in this episode to hear what each organization has to say about this important topic that America and the asian community are trying to tattle and stop.

This week we talk about the basics around this topic, areas varying from what this term means, how it manifest, comparing it to toxic masculinity, if this is even a real thing, and our host Sharjah's experience with this. We are share powerful messages throughout this episode making sure this 1 hour of your time is worth it! Some other thing we talk about in this episode is some different toxic femininity beliefs, and explaining different traits + how you can support other women and prevent this from happening to you from other women because it can happen.

At the end of this episode our host takes a test on Buzzfeed to see how much of a feminist she will is, and also explains all of her answers (link down below to take test). Just like an old saying goes "big brother is always watching", but instead of "big brother" it's now "social media is always watching" because we as teens need to be ready for anything including social media!
