The Bishop's School

This presentation and panel discussion will focus on healthy communication between parents/caregivers and children, particularly around difficult issues like grades, accomplishments and technology use. We welcomed two local clinicians, Dr. Valerie Rock and Marc Sherman, who offered insight into what they are seeing in their work with adolescents and families.

Bishop's Endowed Scholar-in-Residence program presents "Climate Mitigation: A Partnership of Faith and Science," featuring internationally-renowned climate scientists Dr. Katharine Hayhoe and Dr. Veerabhadran Ramanathan in a moderated discussion on the intersection of climate mitigation and religious faith.

Co-founder of Authentic Connections Dr. Suniya Luthar was the featured speaker for the November Parents’ Association meeting. Dr. Luthar reported on the results of the High Achieving Schools Survey that students in grades 8-12 took on Sept. 12 and share how salient aspects of school climate – and of parent-child relationships – can best be modified to maximize the well-being of youth and the adults who care for them. 

Introductions to Bishop's Student Services team were made at the Sept. 11, 2019 Parents' Association meeting. 

Jennifer Grellman, the founder of Being Adept, a nonprofit focused on education and drug abuse prevention, spoke at Bishop's on April 12. A licensed marriage and family therapist, Grellman spoke about how to talk to our children about drugs, alcohol and other difficult issues.
