I am so glad to get to have Dr. Izetta Mobley on the podcast for this episode of #29DaysofMagic! She has so many amazing things she has done you'll need to hear her whole incredible story. She talks about how important it is to do things well, efficiently and equitably. She also talks about the power of administrative work to get things done. She shares some great wisdom about properly setting standards for other people, as not everyone has high standards. She also talks about understanding that life is not fair, and sometimes people have more challenges than others, and that there are matrices of oppression that stack on top of life's general unfairness.

She asks everyone to wear a mask around for at least a week, for both the health awareness, and because it helps show who belongs in public life.

And she would like to give you a week where each day you give yourself permission to do something small, but mightily joyful for yourself.

She shares a traumatic experience she had at work, how she got through it, and the warning she has for people that it is not worth your health to stay in those areas. I am so excited to share with you all Kimberly Brown's story for this episode of #29DaysofMagic! She is the Managing Partner Housing Impact Partners. She shares about how as a 16 year old she was selling credit cards and leading the department. She talks about how she got to where she is today. She talks about helping founding the African American Real Estate Professionals for the Los Angeles Chapter. She shares how she started Housing Impact Partners, how she and her partners are working in the wake of the fires that have happened recently, and how she was already way ahead of the game to make a measurable impact on getting people housing. She shares about her first few jobs at restaurants, and her career into being an attorney where she is now! She shares about how it has always been a black woman who has helped her get all the jobs or pointed her to getting all the jobs. She shares about how she went from one day sitting at home wanting ice cream to all of the sudden making ice cream as a side business. I am super delighted to have Tiffany Dufu, the President at The Tory Burch Foundation, on for this episode of #29DaysofMagic! 2025! She talks about being a Girl Scout selling cookies, and her first real job which she absolutely hated, but she really learned how helpful it was to learn that people can say no to you over and over but the world doesn't fall apart. She talks about her incredible journey where so many amazing incredible women saw her and invited her into the room and how impactful that has been for her career and starting her own companies. Tiffany talks about the 4 levers of economic opportunity and how the fourth is entrepreneurship and how important that is to help people. She talks about how important the work she is doing at the Tory Burch Foundation is especially in this current climate. She points out that instead of asking the question, "How am I to solve this challenge?" instead she asks "Who is going to help me solve it?" and how important it is especially for women entrepreneurs to remember that this is not a solo journey.

For my Birthday I'm super excited to have Lisette Lavergne on the podcast for this #29DaysofMagic! She is the Founder and CEO of Lisette Lavergne Law PC. She shares about her first awesome job babysitting similar to how her mom had. She shares that she double majored in theater arts and political science. She shares about her decision to work as a performing artist with the George Street Playhouse Touring company to do social plays that called out problems like discrimination and others like alcoholism. She mentions how she got into law school at Rutgers Law and how amazingly diverse the community was and how all the diverse groups came together. She shares how important community has been to her for her whole life, and the struggles of being a first generation immigrant and one of the few like her at a big and prestigious law firm, but how she in spite of the challenges there, grew so much. She shares about her time running a law firm, a radio show, and all that fun stuff that is involved with being an entrepreneur plus the connections with the people involved.

I am so delighted to have Bree West, Showrunner, Producer, Writer, and Director, on for #29DaysofMagic! She shares about her first job as a babysitter and the throughline into being a producer. She talks about how she worked with Kevin Durant's mother. Wanda, to get her story out there, and though Wanda was happy with the movie Bree wanted to nit pick a few things which led to her and her then boyfriend starting Octet Productions. She offers up so many amazing stories from when she has been producing and has amazing advice about claiming accomplishments, breathing, making it happen and so much more! She talks about how important it is for when you like a story to talk about it and give good feedback so the studios will keep asking for more of those and not just more horror films. Today I am delighted to have Lauren Persons, mom and educator, on the podcast for #29DaysofMagic! She talks about her first job when she was 12 and then her next job as a cashier. She talks through her career journey working for the federal government, working for the private sector, until she finally started listening to herself and she is now at a 3rd grade educator. She likens being a teacher to being a mother, and how teaching really is preparing children to be people in all areas of life. She talks about how today's teaching environment has to deal with a lot more attention competition and how teachers need to help students with their life stories and how teachers have their own life stories that they need to put on pause, but that doesn't mean they are not people. She has such amazing advice and perspective on life you absolutely don't want to miss out!

I am super excited to interview Jehmu Greene, CEO and Founder of We Defend Truth. She shares about how her first job didn't really pay her and now as an activist still does not get paid a lot. She talks about her incredible journey trying to promote progressive values even going to work at Fox News. She talks about her great work at WeDefendTruth in working to combat disinformation and trying to bring more and more people back to common sense. She talks about being careful to not flood on information before asking the questions, "Is this true?" "How do I know?" and "Is it worth sharing?" She also shares how she learned from getting cancer, and gives so many important self care lessons from that. She shares about how important it is to find the next new young leader. And is just such a light, you need to tune in!

I am super excited to have Kenice Mobley, incredible self employed comedian, on the podcast for #29DaysofMagic! She shares about her first job at Jack in the Box, and how it practically did not happen. She talks about how seeing some people do bad at comedy inspired her to go after being a comedian. She talks about how she launched her full time comedy career right during February 2020. She talks about how there are many pitfalls with comedians where a lot of them can be chasing the viral clips. And how the going viral skill is not the same as the entertaining skill. She talks about how doing comedy well comes from having lots of experience, and you don't need to just be born into it.

She shares about how her first job really led into where she is now. She talks about really helping underrepresented voices and communities and how her current job as an entrepreneur lets her empower others. She talks about how important it is to highlight all these stories so that everyone can see more and more commonalities between each other. She talks about how she started on the college path before committing to the open mic life to do comedy shows which led to her now having a full time career in comedy. She shares about how meticulous you need to be when you perform comedy and how important it is because you are so so constrained when you get started only getting 5 minutes at the open mic night. She talks about how she had been working on the 102nd floor of the world trade center, but because of the hour and a half commute and not loving what she did she went to a temp agency and got sent right into the music industry.
