She talks about how she had been working on the 102nd floor of the world trade center, but because of the hour and a half commute and not loving what she did she went to a temp agency and got sent right into the music industry. She shares about her time in music industry, working with some of the biggest names in in hip/hop R&B, and how she eventually became an internet celebrity. Angelique talks about staying in shape, and feeling refreshed and looking great at her age without trying to turn back the hands of time. We talk about how finding out what you need to to be healthy is, and finding your happy. Angelique points out the muscle mass loss year over year and how important it is to lift heavy to build it back up. We talk about how there are millions of apps, workout routines, and classes to help you get started with a work out plan that works for you! At the intersection of process, strategy and people management Shamis was generally at the backbone of someone else's happening, and had to take a step back to think about if the choices she made were really serving her, or just being the 2nd to someone else's vision. She tells about the incredible CUNY Macaulay Honors College and is in it's ability to invest in high achievers and have equity in the world. This college is tuition free, provides paid internships for high achieving students in NY, who come from lower income households. Her students, get the freedom to take calculated risks and how incredible it is to see how far above and beyond they go in working for helping out in volunteer work, sometimes, who are double, triple majoring. She talks about youth power and how the college can play a meaningful role in helping the youth become the problem solvers they are meant to be!
