Hey Fellow Tri Hards – We would like to dedicate this episode to those who have been affected by police brutality. This is a movement, not a moment. #BlackLivesMatter     

This week we are reviewing and discuss the documentary “13th” on #Netflix by Filmmaker #AvaDuVernay. This powerful film documents the history and current state of the United States prison system and how certain laws and historical movements have contributed to mass incarceration and targeted the black community.     

We HIGHLY recommend watching this documentary. We learned A LOT that we weren’t aware of before, and it really opened our eyes to dive deeper into our country’s history and how it has impacted our communities today.

Hey Fellow Tri Hards – Our Should You Tri It movie review, chosen by you all on our Instagram, could not come at a better time. Today we are reviewing the documentary “Becoming” by Michelle Obama, which is available on Netflix. During this review, we also wanted to take time to educate our listeners on the importance of the Black Lives Matter movement, and why it is important to understand the history of systemic racism, police brutality, and white privilege. If you want to skip through the movie review, our discussion on the Black Lives Matter topic starts at 26:00.

Although this documentary does touch on the topic of white privilege and racism in our country, there are also many more resources you can listen to, watch, and read to understand why you should support this movement. We also encourage donations to organizations supporting these efforts and have included a list in our YouTube channel description for you to visit.
