We got to interview one of the men named Eric Johnson. He is part of the Mormonism Research Ministry for over 30 years. They visit Mormon temples and pass out a new letter they publish stating why Mormonism and Christianity are different.

You know the drill, here is an update on the happenings of Aubrie after leaving Life.Church after being asked to step down from leadership. She talks about what her new church is like and the exciting new steps she's taken in being part of All Souls.

Kathleen used to suffer from vivid nightmares and we talk about if we think it's from the fear organized religion brought on or something else. We conclude with the Mormon topic of receiving a new name during the endowment ceremony and what that means.

Today's guest, Ms. Heauxly (pronounced holy), from the Heauxly Coitus Podcast does not hold back on what it is to be living out her "hoe" phase and we aren't mad. We get the honor of hearing her story of growing up evangelical, staying a virgin until 32, leaving religion, and living out her "hoe" phase. She talks about negative impacts of purity culture, navigating a multi-partner sex life, creating boundaries with partners, talking in tongues while doing the deed, and micro "eggplants". Another hot Mormon topic we didn't know we needed to know. Kathleen gives us a great explanation of why it is important to Mormons to baptize their ancestors and loved ones who have died. Fun fact: we actually first met Sarah at a Pride festival, so that gives you an idea of the kind of pastor she is! We discuss her religious journey, her affirming attitude, and some of the reactions she's received as a progressive female pastor in the Bible belt. You don't want to miss it!

IDK if all our listeners are like Aubrie where every time we come together to learn something new we have a moment of "wtf" or what but this one is less intense but for sure a "wtf" moment. Temple Marriages and Sealing Ceremonies are described by Kathleen as the desert course: sweet, in theory. Ever wonder what goes on at the temple? There is a thing called an Endowment Ceremony that Kathleen walks us through the different concepts of what that means. Before we dive into that fun we hear from Aubrie about the women's conference she attended and how that went. Kathleen had some feelings about how that works and we ended up putting a whole 10 minutes of that at the end of the episode for those of you that want to hear it. It's a literal riot, we talk about Stacy Eldridge's Captivating Core retreat, being romanced by God, and going on a date with God. Ok, you know when you hear about something and the person who is telling it is trustworthy and wouldn't lie about what they are talking about but the thing they are talking about is so wacky you have to pull in another source who knows just as much about it to confirm the insanity you just heard? That is what this episode is!

Kathleen's husband sits in the room with us to help give insight to the topic of Mormon tithing and the breaking headline. You don't get to hear his voice but he's like an advisor throughout the episode. It's super interesting for those of us that don't know much about Mormonism to hear how the LDS do tithing and how they have handled the tithing.
