Kelsey was equally captivated by Patrick's intellect and unyielding optimism. The short story: they bonded over their mutual passion for leadership and knowledge acquisition. The long story? Pt. 2 Finding Your Dream Job featuring Scott Swedberg - Career Development Expert, CEO & Founder of The Job Sauce - Ep 4

Pt. 2 Finding Your Dream Job featuring Scott Swedberg - Career Development Expert, CEO & Founder of The Job Sauce - Ep 4

Your job significantly impacts the quality of your life. For many people, your job is a key source of meaning and purpose. So how do you find your dream job (or at least leave a job you hate…?)

This is a two-part episode with my longtime friend, mentor Scott Swedberg CEO @ The Job Sauce.

Scott founded The Job Sauce because he believes a dream career is an integral part of a happy, fulfilling life and he’ll share with us some of the lessons he’s learned and insights into landing a job you love.

(Disclaimer: Scott and I experimented with recording from my phone so there’s a little background noise… Scott’s story is incredible, so thank you for your audio forgiveness and patience.)

In Part 1 of this episode we cover:

  • Why people tolerate jobs they hate and the cues you need to pay attention to that might tell you it’s time to leave
  • How Scott became obsessed with helping people find their dream job
  • Scott shares about the impact of automation (here’s the link he mentions: Mckinsey Automation report, 2017)  and what happens when work is no longer the primary way people get meaning?
  • Qualities of a dream job and why following your passion is bad advice

In Part 2 we cover:

  • We jump right into the power of giving up control, empowering your team, and scaling your impact.
  • Scott’s Mom, the unbelievable support of others and the power when you “give people an opportunity to be a part of making a difference”
  • Scott’s facilitation fundamentals and common coaching mistakes
