What is the Grow2Gether Podcast? The Grow2Gether Podcast is a weekly podcast where host and founder Luke Burrows has conversations with our community members and the next generation to give them a platform to share their stories, challenges and plans for the future. Who are we joined by and what do we cover in this episode? In this episode of the Grow2Gether podcast, we're joined by Ebony Louise who is a Youth Mentor whose mission it is to engage and inspire young people to believe in themselves and grow into successful leaders in today’s society. Inspired by her own personal growth journey, Ebony dives deep into opening up about her own hardships with seeking purpose, and how she has been able to defy the odds stacked up against her during her youth. Ebony shares how important finding and working with a coach has been and gives some tips on how to go about finding a coach or mentor to work with. Key takeaways from this episode: When you're looking to work with a coach or mentor it's important to bear in mind to find someone who inspires and empowers you and also holds you accountable. Whether it's family members, close friends or people you meet on your personal growth journey some of your biggest critics turn out to actually be your biggest fans. A challenge that most people face is wanting to fit in with those around them. This can often lead to people not being true to themselves and living a lie. True happiness is found when you accept yourself for who you are and live your life in alignment with your highest life values. So often people resort to short-term pleasures for "pick-me-ups" like alcohol and neglect their long term happiness. Starting your personal growth journey will teach you how to make better decisions for where you want to go. Plus, much much more! Key takeaways from this episode: Everything in your life comes down to the choices that you make on a daily basis. It's your choice of what you do, and what you don't do. Our brains are designed to keep us safe and it has been that way for thousands of years. However, society and life itself have changed and evolved and we no longer have to protect ourselves from Sabertooth Tigers. When facing difficult times it can feel like they're going to last forever. His journey made it clear that his life purpose and passion is to share his story and life lessons with those that need it and this is why he set up Empathy Coaching. Key takeaways from this episode: Everything in your life comes down to the choices that you make on a daily basis. It's your choice of what you do, and what you don't do. Whatever you're going through or facing in your life don't be scared to ask for help. Whether that is to a professional, family member or close friend - don't face your dark times and challenges alone. ASK. FOR. HELP! When facing difficult times it can feel like they're going to last forever. This leads to always chasing new gadgets, people and trying to keep up with the Joneses. Sharing your vulnerabilities and challenges isn't as scary as it seems and can lead to building amazing new connections with like-minded people from all over the world. Of course, you'll get haters - the key is just not to focus there. Self-awareness is the number 1 key to growth yet often peoples ego's get in the way. Who are we joined by and what do we cover in this episode? In this episode of the Grow2Gether podcast, we're joined by the Founder & CEO of ProgressHolic Devesh Tilokani. His answer was no and that's when his personal growth journey started. In this episode of the Grow2Gether podcast we dive into that journey Devesh has been on. Key takeaways from this episode: Emotional intelligence is the ability to see the emotion but not be the emotion and to slow down your reaction time to the point where you no longer react but respond. Reflection helps with this. Time is the most precious resource we have and most people aren't taking responsibility for where they are spending their time. In order to be the best person you can be, start by taking responsibility, ownership, and accountability of where and how you're spending your time. Enjoy the process of improving yourself including all of the ups and all of the downs and become addicted to daily progress. Self-awareness can help you to identify and utilise your other skills which can help you to save time and get ahead whether it's in your studies, in the workplace or in life in general. As we live in the information-age there is a lot of information out there for students (and everyone) which can be confusing on which career path to go down and where you want to take your life. Developing self-awareness, identifying what you're good at and trying new things to find what you're most passionate about can all help you navigate the noise. Reflecting on what you've enjoyed, been good at and have liked as you've grown up is a good way of "going back to your roots" to find those livelong passions which can be turned into a vocation. Spend the time to do this and see what you might find. Plus, much much more! Episode #03: How to be Positive and Live Your Best Life in a World Where Others Want to Bring You Down with Gillian Robinson
In this episode of the Grow2Gether podcast, we're joined by Blogger & Young Entrepreneur Gillian Robinson as we dive into her journey of starting a business, facing negativity and how she has been able to overcome that to be on the path to living her best life no matter what other think.  Key takeaways from this episode: Young people are following trends rather than listening to themselves, and who they are just to fit in with others. You become the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with so be careful to who you are spending your time with. People can be so nasty and negative, complaining about everything, putting others down and gossiping all the time rather than taking control and focusing on their own life. Taking control of your own life is the best and easiest way to enjoy life! Your friends, family, loved ones and/or people in general will always have opinions on what you're doing and how you are living your life. The key thing to remember is that, it's none of your business - just as what they're doing is none of yours. This doesn't mean you can't give advice from time to time, just be mindful over the advice you're getting and/or giving. Too many people don't actually listen to their loved ones, friends or the people around them as their sub-conscious bias sets in and are in such a rush to just share what they want to share rather than having meaningful conversations. It's having a negative effect on how as a society we are building relationships with others. Plus, much much more! Episode #02: Starting Your Conscious Personal Growth Journey with Alex Shailer
In this episode of the Grow2Gether podcast, we're joined by YouTuber & High Performance Coach Alex Shailer as we dive into Alex's journey of conscious personal growth, how he got started on his journey and how you can too! Key takeaways from this episode: Most people do want to do something meaningful, create impact and do something that they enjoy. So, the first step is to work out what that is for you and to increase your curiosity to new paths, ventures and to life itself. Opportunities are all around us, and they are often found in the challenges that we face. For example: Climate Change. We could get really down about what is happening right now, or we can use it as an opportunity to create and do something really meaningful. Mindfulness is the foundation for everything. It creates greater clarity, awareness and intuition and helps us to find and explore who we truly are. Fear is a primary emotion that has been with us since the beginning of time to keep us safe. Without it, in the past, we would have been eaten by Saber-toothed Tigers or banished from tribes that could have lead to death. However, our brains know no difference and instead of allowing fear to get the better of us, we must learn how to reprogram it by making logical decisions. Plus, much much more! Episode #01: Pursuing Your Passion with Emily Formea
In this episode of the Grow2Gether podcast, we're joined by Wellness Blogger & Coach Emily Formea as we dive into her journey of pursuing her passions, how she got started and the challenges she has faced along the way. Key takeaways from this episode: We all have passions and when we say (or think) that we don't it's more that we are fearful that it won't resonate with someone else. In order to "find" your passion envision what you would do and how you would spend your time with no regards or judgements from anyone else. Stop doing what you think you have to do, what your parents want you to do or what anyone else says you should do and focus on doing what makes you happy. Understand others will judge you, even those closest to you but that's a reflection of them and not you. Plus, much much more!
