STREAMS ep. 28 "We Fucked Ourselves"
.
STREAMS ep. 27 “Social Media Is Ruining Us”
The more we tear down the barriers of communication and bring us closer together technologically, the further apart we feel spiritually. why is that?
STREAMS ep. 26 'Different World'
The world today doesn't FEEL the way the world felt when I was growing up. What changed?
STREAMS ep. 25 - “Fame over Substance”
Rappers of the modern era all seem to value fame over actual connections with their fanbases or substance in their art. Why is that? why are the sales in hip hop down 40%? Is it because of the economy or is it because of the massive failure of today's artist to aim for timelessness in their music?

STREAMs ep. 23 "Systematic Systemic System"
STREAMS ep. 22 “equality or advantage”
STREAMS ep. 21 "realism in rap"
From the early days of rap, to now, where we over-glorify street culture and rat on ourselves on nationally syndicated radio stations. smh. How did we get here?
(sorry for the late publish for anyone who may have been looking for it. I scheduled the release of this audio episode and came back to check the numbers only to find that the auto-publish never went through. Might've been user error or platform error. Not Sure. But it's here now, nonetheless.)

STREAMS ep. 18 'i'm a leader too'
STREAMS ep. 17 "oversaturation of the arts"
There are many of us practicing expression in many different fields. Music, Painting, Podcasts, etc. It's hard to cut through all of the noise but my philosophy is that the noise is what gives value to the masterpieces. For every one great work of work there are dozens of others that aren't so great. The not-so-great work proves how difficult and special the great work is. My point is that there are upsides as well as downsides to there being so much clutter in art.
STREAMS ep. 16 "focus & appreciation"
.
Streams ep. 15 "change your heroes"
As a community, black people's priorities have long been misplaced. We worship things that are detrimental to us and talk down about upstanding men and women and label them as "corny". We must change our heroes.
STREAMS ep. 14 "the quality of our service to others"
"The quality of our service to others determines the kind of life you'll live" was a quote given to me by my father. I don't know it's origins, but it inspired me nonetheless. All of our contributions to the world, big and small, lend to the kind of "karma" we might have.

STREAMS ep. 13 'why is life worth living?"
Moment of silence for the foreword: Less than 24 hours after recording this episode I had a pretty realistic dream. In the dream I watched my first born son die in my arms. I have an idea of what might've caused the dream but I'm not sure. This dream almost served as an answer or a direct response to some of the things i spoke about in this episode.
Love your people while they're here.
Life is a mystery to us all. None of us truly have the answers as to what we're doing here. We live our lives serving what we assume to be our purposes or we assign purpose to our own lives for the sake of fulfillment or personal satisfaction. The truth is I don't even know if we will ever know what this actually is. Some believe it will be revealed at some later time or simply after we experience death. Who knows?

STREAMS ep. 12 "do for self"
More things are in our control than we think there are. The reality is we have the ability to change a lot of our circumstances but we simply choose not to. That's something I had to learn over time and take risks to try. Change and improving our circumstances is not always easy, but is sometimes possible nonetheless.

STREAMS ep. 11 “the no days off mentality is dumb”
STREAMs ep. 10 "parenthood"
Raising kids is the hardest thing I've ever done and probably ever will do. The amount of sacrificing that it requires on a daily basis is something that nothing else in life has ever required of me. It has tested all of my limits, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. The important part is that I continue to show up and I continue to TRY. Listen to episode 10 as I attempt to organize my thoughts on the subject and struggles of parenting.
STREAMS ep. 9 "time and the poverty mindset"
When you're in survival mode you view money as less than a tool to simplify your life and more like an ever-elusive resource that is to blame for all of our problems. Sometimes peace is more expensive. In my personal experience, I changed barbershops at the cost of more expensive service only to save more time in the process which is invaluable to me. This same example can translate to all of our lives in lots of ways. You pay more up front to have a more streamlined experience: Travel agents, bell hops, chauffeurs, restaurants or personal chefs. Money is a tool to be used. Not to be used irresponsibly or to be viewed as a scarce resource that we spend in fear either. There is a balance that lies between those two extremes. Be smart with your money but also don't let your past poor relationship with money hold you back from improving your life and experiencing a better alternative.
STREAMS ep. 8 "my life as an engineer pt. 2"
Streams is what I call a 'solocast' focused on any given topic, mostly philosophy, cultural perspectives, creative struggles and/or personal social issues. Streams of consciousness is something I've practiced most of my life and I think it's where I stumble on some of my greatest ideas. This is a peering into my mind. An invitation to my inner-most thoughts. Nothing more, nothing less.

STREAMS ep. 5 "choosing partners & cheating"
Low self esteem leads a lot of us to poor relationships with others because of the poor relationship we have with ourselves. Sometimes we subconsciously seek reiterations of past traumas because we are addicted to the feelings it invokes in us or we believe it is all we deserve. We suffer habitually. Cheating is tied to the way we feel about ourselves as well. If you knew better you'd do better.

STREAMS ep. 4 "overly masculine men"
Some of us have been taught incorrectly what defines us as men. It stifles our growth and it narrows our perspective so much so that it hinders us in our development. Learn to challenge your ideas and comforts in the name of being fluid in your application.

STREAMS ep. 3 "can money buy happiness?"
Can money buy YOUR happiness? It's really up to our own personal philosophies and perspectives. I'm sure money would solve lots of peoples' problems, but for many others money is not necessarily the solution because their battles are more internal than anything. Listen to my perspective and give your own in the comments.

STREAMS ep. 2 "your ideas are good enough"
"Your ideas are good enough" is self explanatory. We often times doubt that our ideas can be executed or that the idea itself is worthy of exploring.

The Gxds discuss the moral implications of that and how they would have handled the same situation had they been placed in that position. TheGxdsInvest Ep. 1 "In The Beginning"
Ep. 32 "Fuzzy Titty Channel / Top 5"
In this party episode of TGAW, things got a bit crowded as The Gxds (Red, Ojo, Jay, D, Lio, Hiryu) do a bit of reminiscing since this is the first time the 3 cousins Red, D and Hiryu were able to gather in years. The flavor "Arctic sun" by Faygo has been a long-time favorite of the cousins and the flavor was recently re-released. They also discuss the casting of Mahershala Ali as Blade in the upcoming Phase 5 of Marvel films. The Gxds also discuss the severity of the waging of the Data Wars and how we are all being used as pawns in the war, being bought and sold by the companies we trust with our information daily. This, paired with the speed of technological developments over the last three decades and it's impact on us as a people, the conversation gets a bit deep. The second half of this episode became a bit of a Hip-hop debate while the Gxds discuss their personal Top 5's and the reasoning behind their choices. That and much more on episode 32 of TGAW.
