The Nanny Endorsements

This week I spoke with my friend Serena Shinault. She suggested a few classes we did together, like Conscious Discipline, plus a great one for nannies who are looking to stay with a family after all the children have started school. 

 This week I spoke with Franny Wood. Franny was a nanny for 16 years, and recently began working with HomeWork Solutions, a very well-known nanny payroll company. She helps nannies navigate payroll and how to be paid legally, and has graciously offered to share her email address with us. This episode, I spoke with Giselle Beuscher, a nanny from Florida. She loves reading and has some truly awesome book recommendations. She also recommends the podcast The Practically Perfect Podcast, which is one of the best nanny podcasts out there!

This week I spoke with Tamara L'Hote, who has 23 years of nanny experience! Like many other nannies, she suggests checking out community colleges for child development classes, but also to go to your local library. Sometimes they have cheap or even free classes. She's also a big crafter and she makes jewelry for her fellow nannies!

Melanie Blauser not only has tons of experience as a nanny, she's also a former engineer! She's also a fellow crocheter and has some great suggestions.

Now that the holidays are over, I'm putting up new episodes of The Nanny Endorsements. I'm always looking for more nannies, newborn care specialists and other childcare professionals to interview, so if you're interested, please fill out the Interview Request! This week I spoke to one of my good friends, Lindsay Brown. Not only did she have great suggestions of books and a certification we should all have, but she also brought up some great podcasts for nannies.

My good friend Heidi Joline has a wealth of helpful information, which makes sense since she was INA's Nanny of the Year in 2019. She was also one of the nannies who inspired me to start this podcast!

This week I spoke with Jennifer Willis, a nanny from Charlotte, North Carolina. She has 13 years of nannying experience and over two decades of childcare experience. She believes experience is most important and loves spending time outside with her charges doing fun things like toddler yoga and imaginative play.

This week I spoke with Janette Collins, a newborn care specialist from New Jersey. She has 3 decades of experience and loves baking and Broadway!

This week I spoke with Jody Henry, and she had some great suggestions! She has decades of experience in the nannying world but is always learning more.

Linda is a nanny from Massachusetts, and she and I had a wonderful conversation. She had lots of great advice and does some truly wonderful volunteering with her down time. She also took many classes through the military.

Tina Bannon, a nanny from Arizona, was a delight. This week I spoke to her about her years of nannying, and she had so many awesome suggestions. I definitely agree with her that we all need to know our worth!

This week I spoke with Kim Fulton, a nanny in the Seattle WA area. She has years of experience in different childcare roles, but really loves nannying. She suggested an author I grew up reading as a child, and a class I didn't know existed. The Free to Play Summit sounds like an amazing program!

Lisa Mundy, a nanny from Los Angeles CA, was my very first interview! She works with multiple families with children of all ages and had some truly fantastic advice.
