Ellen Barnard from Harmony Hive has come on to talk to us all about her story. She discusses how she originally became a doula after being a hair stylist and listening to what women were going through. Ellen goes on to discuss meeting her husband, living in Hawaii, experiencing pregnancy loss & gas lighting from doctors, and left with little to no answers about infertility. The researcher that she is, left her to researching all about miscarriages, infertility, MTHFR gene mutations, the menstrual cycle & female hormones, and changed her course of life forever.

We had the honour of connecting with doula, photographer, website designer, mother, partner, and business owner Amelia (@protivacreative). She came on to talk to us about her experience with pregnancy loss/miscarriage and how she coped with that mental & physically. 28. Midwife Tahlia & her home birth in Australia
Tahlia gave us the honour of interviewing her on her home birth that she had with her daughter near Byron Bay, Australia. She is a midwife on the Gold Coast and had a birthing center with her first born son. With her knowledge and understanding, she decided to do a home birth with a water tub with the birth of her second child. We had the opportunity to learn about the Australian public healthcare system and what is accessible to women & birthers in terms of Midwifery Continuity Of Care Program.

I had the amazing opportunity of having Victoria Gloria from CT on with us to talk about her story. We have a fun discussion talking about how her and her husband met (their love story), going to college and discovering she wanted to become a photographer! Victoria is a motherhood photographer and pregnancy photographer who is also expecting a little boy at the end of this month! She talks about her first and second trimester, going through slight morning sickness but feeling amazing now. She will be coming on again in a few months to talk about her birth story with her midwife at the local birth center!

Check out our new podcast episode with doula Allison (Instagram: doulasforhumanrights) where she talks about the importance of bodily autonomy and explicit consent. Allison also discusses her experience of how she got into this work after giving birth in Scotland and dealing with obstetric violence there. 18. US Midwifery Care with Midwife Sarah
Check out our first podcast episode with our midwife Sarah (instagram: @sarahstetina) who is based out of Illinois, Chicago. Sarah works for Burr Ridge Birth Center and is aimed at working with individuals with female reproductive health. Sarah is a certified nurse midwife (CNM) and is trauma-informed and evidence-based in her practice. Today, we talk about the midwifery care model in the United States, how midwives are working to lower the maternal mortality rate, decrease the c-section & intervention rates often associated with OBGYN led births, and more! 10. From an OBGYN to Midwife Birth with Abre
Abre (Instagram: @thewildbillingsleys, @moonstonedoula) is a black birth doula & postpartum doula talking to us about her story. Abre talks to us about obstetric violence when she was convinced into getting a epidural that she did not truly want and a forced non consented episiotomy and vacuum used during the birth of her son. She also experienced postpartum depression & painful sex due to the forced episiotomy that she received a lack of support. She also talks about how this experience inspired her to become a black doula for her community, Abre goes into detail about her second pregnancy with her daughter and how she hired a doula, midwife, and decided to birth at a birthing centre. She got a chance to do skin to skin after birth and had a much more supportive postpartum experience. We hope you enjoy this episode!
Jocelyn on preeclampsia, c-section, & the NICU
Jocelyn (Instagram: @_raising river, Website: raisingriver.com) is on with us talking to her about her jewellery business and how she got into clay design. She also goes into detail about her pregnancy experience with her daughter River. Her experience going through a pregnancy with high blood pressure that lead to preeclampsia. This lead to Jocelyn needing to be hospitalised for a month which later resulted in a c-section where we talk about her experience with lack of numbing during that time. Her daughter River was born at 29 weeks and taken into the NICU For a month. We all know Victoria (instagram: @femmehead, website: www.femmehead.com) as the woman that started us off on our FAM journeys. The one that empowered us to confront our doctors and beliefs behind why we were on the pill. Today, I had the honour of interviewing Victoria and talking about her experience charting her cycle using the symptoms-thermal method, her fertility journey and experiencing loss, to pregnancy with her son and working with a midwife/midwives (birth story). She also talks about identity and motherhood, being a working parent, and balancing all of the things as a partner and new mom.

We have Bri McDaniels on today talking about dealing with racism and black motherhood. You may know her as @moonandcheeze on Instagram as the black woman with an afro that is spreading awareness by publishing her photography of her breastfeeding her two daughters. We talk to Bri about how she got into photography, how she ended up in Seattle, her life as wedding photographer, and how she is where she is now. She also goes into discussion more about the maternal mortality rate, how she constantly feared of her dying due to a racist medical system while she was pregnant. Chunte on Fibroids & Seed Cycling
Chunte (Instagram: @chunteofmuse, Blog: www.chunteofmuse.com) is talking to us today about her experience of being diagnosed with fibroids. She talks about also getting pregnant with fibroids and working with doctors on how to manage them.
