According to Wikipedia, body positivity is a movement focused on the acceptance of all bodies, regardless of size, shape, skin tone, gender, and physical abilities, while challenging present-day beauty standards as an undesirable social construct.
But what does this actually mean?
Joining me today to discuss this is Tejal Parekh, MSW. Tejal is a young woman and goddess who is a hype coach impacting the world, transforming lives every day with her light, through her platforms and motivational speaking. She is a Beauty Entrepreneur, Blogger, Self-taught Makeup Artist, Plus-size Model, Motivational Speaker, Social Worker and activist of Women’s Rights - Body Positivity - and Undocumented Immigrants.

Do you have the Holiday Blues?
The holiday season is the time of joy, cheer and family gatherings but for many of us, including myself, it’s the time filled with sadness, anxiety, loneliness and self reflection. But, what causes the holiday blues, where does it stem from and why isn’t it talked about enough?
My guest today, Julia Armand, is here to help me answer these questions. Julia is a Marriage and Family Therapist who helps individuals better understand their own patterns of behavior - why they are there, how to catch yourself falling into them and how to break free.
In today’s episode, we cover:
- The Holiday Blues are a real thing
- When did this all start?
- Holding on to old family traditions
- Why don't we talk about this?
- Holidays are time for reflection
- Holiday season post - Covid
- Holiday blues vs Depression
- What can you do to make it easier on yourself
- Be mindful that not everyone feels the same way
