Steve Hochman: From Loner Kid To Successful Fitness & Business Coach

Steve Hochman: From Loner Kid To Successful Fitness & Business Coach

SUMMARYSteve Hochman, a successful fitness and business coach, re-enters the world of social media after a decade hiatus. He discusses the reason why he left and why he came back. Steve recounts his childhood experience of feeling like an outsider. And after much reflection, he was determined to learn how to make and maintain relationships. The host, Jeff Sherman, found it hard to believe that Steve had once been a loner as he knew him as the person he is today, having walked onto the stage for Project Hex, with a mask and chains. The speaker talks about other life experiences regarding his father going to prison, how caffeine pills messed up his system and gave him extreme physical anxiety, and being a bouncer at a strip club. After a moment of clarity, he was able to get his life back on track. He started working out and eventually became a personal trainer. He made a good friend through the process and has remained friends with him for over 20 years. Despite the difficulties he faced, he was able to take control of his life and turn it around. Steve describes how he got his start in the fitness industry by giving his all to his clients. He recounts a story of an initial client of his who had shoulder surgery and needed to lose 50 pounds. Without even being hired yet, Steve went above and beyond by visiting the client's doctor to learn more about the shoulder injury so he could give the best service possible. This left the man in awe and inspired Steve to continue to give his all to his clients, amazed at the fact that successful people were paying him to do something he was so passionate about.

Marc Angelo Coppola on the Four Hs of Content Storytelling (#29)

The Process Podcast is hosted by Jeff Sherman

Today my guest, Storyteller, Philanthropreneur, Influencer and Founder of Valhalla Movement Foundation & Superhero Academy, is Marc Angelo Coppola. We discuss how to Find the truth in your story and practice telling it. Along with his philosophy on defensive and offensive storytelling as well as the four Hs of content.

The Four H’s Of Content: Hero, Hub, Help, Headline

Defensive Content captures your current audience

  • D: Hero - the refined and polished story that you tell
  • D: HUB - get to know you on a deeper level in interviews, podcast, IG stories

Offensive Content captures attention and find new users

  • O: Help Content - how to do or create something
  • O: Headline Content - riding the waves of relevancy and speed

SHOW NOTES

  • Find the truth in your story and practice telling it [03:00]
  • The details of your story and how it’s read from color, font choice, and pacing are important [04:00]
  • Your audience is watching and waiting for it to click for them [04:30]
  • Inspire the next action not the end result [05:00]
  • Start your story from a moment you had a significant moment of desperation [06:40]
  • Have the resolution be short, well-thought out and leave some parts open so people can have questions [07:00]
  • The key here is the emotion of desperation that people can relate to [08:00]
  • Your story is as good as how relatable the character is [08:40]
  • And then if there are topics or ideas that are relatable, it will spark an action from your audience [08:50]
  • What are moments in your life that stand out to you? What belief did you have that all of a sudden shifted? [10:00]
  • When people respond to your story, recognize that maybe that story has some value [10:20]
  • Practice telling your story [11:30]
  • Instagram stories is a great platform to tell short stories [12:30]
  • The “Unexpected Audience” is your biggest opportunity [15:00]
  • The Four H’s Of Content - Hero, Help, Hub, Headline [16:15]
  • Defensive Content captures your current audience with Hero & HUB content [17:00]
  • Defensive: Hero - the refined and polished story that you tell [17:15]
  • Defensive: HUB - get to know you on a deeper level in interviews, podcast, IG stories [18:00]
  • Offensive Content captures attention and find new users with Help & Headline content [19:30]
  • Offensive: Help Content - how to do or create something [19:45]
  • Offensive: Headline Content - riding the waves of relevancy and speed [20:10]
  • Your niche expertise and perspective will flow through all of that [22:00]
  • Add your color to the information and do it consistently [22:30]

Jeet Banerjee on how to build your ecommerce brand quickly and efficiently

Jeet Banerjee on how to build your ecommerce brand quickly and efficiently

The Process Podcast is hosted by Jeff Sherman

My guest today is a Serial Entrepreneur, Tech Expert, Consultant, Author, Blogger, and TEDx Speaker. He started his first company, JB Media Force, at 17 and immediately began picking up clients. He established an offshore team to handle the projects while taking care of sales here in the US.

He sold that company and quickly began working on another project, and in February 2012, he launched StatFuse along with his partner which he sold in 2017 to LendEDU.

Now, he’s working on launching a couple of other online and ecommerce businesses. In addition to this, he has a goal of helping others to find their purpose in life and achieving massive success.

In this episode, we cover several key topics including:

KEY TOPICS

  • How to build your ecommerce brand quickly and efficiently
  • 3 tips when choosing a good dropship supplier
  • Understand who you are competing with
  • The hiring process to build your A-Team

SHOW NOTES:

  • My best advice for bringing on a new team member is “Hire fast and fire faster” [03:45]
  • “The best ability is availability” -- we can train you in everything else [04:35]
  • After I drove massive traffic to my client’s site and made them over $100k profits, I realized I could be doing this for myself and build out my own brand and products [06:00]
  • Dropshipping is the best way to start your own brand. It lowers the risk of having inventory [07:25]
  • We started off with one drop shipper and as we scaled we made relationships with multiple dropshippers just in case one supplier is unable to deliver [09:00]
  • Aliexprss in China is best dropshipper because you can set up a store in 2hrs and they dropship the fastest [09:00]
  • When you have a product that is selling really well, you can then diversify and find additional suppliers from North America and Europe [09:45]
  • For entrepreneurs that are starting in ecommerce, Shopify is a good choice [11:00]
  • Ecomlegacybrand.com is my training course for how to get your Shopify store up and running in 2hrs [11:15]
  • To compete, I always ask my suppliers how fast they can ship items, what’s the quality, how much brand control do I have? [13:00]
  • A drawback of using Amazon Fulfillment is that they keep all the data of your customers a secret. Only they can see it [13:50]
  • Whereas with Shopify you get to see all of the data from your customer’s email address, physical address and buying behavior. You can then use that to market to them  [14:30]
  • Smaller brands will need to go for exposure and impulse buyers on places like Facebook where we can get people’s attention through ads [16:10]
  • We’re in the Chasing Game and we compete with better, more creative, and thoughtful marketing [16:25]
  • We primary use Facebook Ads and social media platforms [17:00]
  • Leave an imprint with one thing [18:00]

Gabe Schillinger on helping music producers to create a real business out of their passion (#6)

Gabe Schillinger on helping music producers to create a real business out of their passion (#6)

The Process Podcast is hosted by Jeff Sherman

“The music is not the product. The music itself is what creates the relationships with your audience. And then it becomes, what product, service, or experience can I sell them.” - Gabe Schillinger

My guest today, Gabe Schillinger,  is a Music Producer, Engineer, Public Speaker, Founder and CEO of Legion Beats;  a producer Consultant and Coach at Midi Money. He started his music career as a  producer. He worked with artists like Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, and Too Short and had some impressive highlights working in the music industry, but after over a decade of trying to make a living he found himself broke and unfulfilled.

In 2005, he started selling his services online through his own business and brand, Legion Beats, which provides rappers with the resources they need to succeed, including music production, mixing & mastering, and promotion.

He was the first in his niche to pull off a six-figure launch and received his 2 Comma Club Award for doing over a million dollars in revenue using click funnels.

He has been invited to speak at Funnel Hacking Live in front of thousands of business owners and marketers where he shared the stage with top entrepreneurs like Russell Brunson, Tony Robbins, Frank Kern, and more.

And, in 2019, he founded Midi Money, where he teaches entrepreneurs in music and other industries how to grow and scale their businesses.
