Uncovering The Secrets of Online Coaching Success! | Ep. 35

Uncovering The Secrets of Online Coaching Success! | Ep. 35

I can confidently say that the fitness coaching industry is evolving rapidly, and understanding the nuances of online coaching is crucial for success.

In this podcast episode, I had the pleasure of speaking with David Hatt, the owner of MTN Coaching, who has been a coach for over a decade and has built a thriving online fitness and lifestyle coaching company.

David shares his journey from being a personal trainer to becoming a comprehensive coach who focuses on mindset, training, and nutrition—the three pillars of his coaching philosophy.

Throughout the episode, David candidly shares his experiences, including the challenges he faced while building his business and the lessons learned from his mistakes.

He highlights the significance of having a solid support system and the value of continuous learning and adaptation in the ever-changing fitness landscape.

One of the key takeaways from our conversation is the importance of communication and genuine care for clients.

David believes that successful coaching goes beyond just providing workout plans; it involves building relationships and offering unwavering support to help clients achieve their goals.

This approach has led to remarkable transformations for many of his clients, proving that fitness coaching can be a life-changing experience.

#20 Shoaib Ahmed - The Creator Economy, A Unique Personal Brand & How To Stand Out

Meet Shoaib Ahmed, Founder of Yellow Hippo.

Shoaib is a fountain of knowledge, and one of the people at the top of their game when it comes to Personal Branding.

He shares some real wisdom in this episode - on this topic in particular he covers so many of the things that we battle with.

Doubting ourselves.

Imposter syndrome, and thinking what we know has no value.

Being true to yourself, and not copying people for clicks.

The real value and longevity of your posts.

“What you post and forget about 5 minutes later, somebody could remember for years.”

Shoaib truly believes one person can make a difference to many - and he gives some helpful tips in this episode to remind people of that.

We also break down the creator economy, how that’s changed the game and given generations of people old and young new opportunities to make their mark.

Which inevitably leads to a discussion around where schools and the education system have gone wrong.

We then top it all off with Shoaib’s mantras and advice for life, making mistakes and being your best self.

I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did.

#19 Maria Villablanca - Solving Problems, Family & Standing Up For The Little Guy

Meet Maria Villablanca, Founder and CEO of Future Insights Network.

Born in Chile, but a true global citizen - Maria has had a chance to experience it all.

From being born just as the Pinochet regime kicked off, bouncing around America, only for her world to be upended and her making the call to go back to Chile for her family.

And that was just in her first 20 years, plenty has happened since.

We go deep into her ability and habit of solving problems and spotting opportunities - which led to her moving quickly up the ladder in pretty much every company she has worked for.

Although she faced her fair share of misogyny, and even reached a point she had to confront her own biases.

Which tied into discovering a new problem for her to solve, as well as continuing her life value of ‘standing up for the little guy’.

It’s been quite the adventure.

Of course, working at 200% for your entire life does play catch up, and we go into detail about where she is at now - and her big plans for her future.

Watch the episode to find out exactly how it’s all played out.

#18 George Sullivan - Growing A Business, Creating A Community & Going All In On What You Love

#18 George Sullivan - Growing A Business, Creating A Community & Going All In On What You Love

Meet George Sullivan, the king of Sneakers.

He doesn’t call himself that, George is way too sound and far too modest for that.

Although there are many who would consider him as such.

George is the Founder of The Sole Supplier: www.thesolesupplier.co.uk.

But that’s just one small part of who he is, and we go into his journey here.

We talk about the amazing kicks his parents picked out for him as a toddler.

Being a ‘troublemaker’ and getting kicked out of school at 17.

And that's just two of the many events that sent him down the path of sneakers and entrepreneurship.

George talks about his attitude of going all in, or not at all - and how that has served and failed him in the past.

Then we get into the story of where Sole Supplier all began.

How it started to shape George as a leader, and the mistakes he made that he learned from.

And a never-ending journey of innovation and putting the customer at the forefront of every decision.

We close of the episode talking about the current state of business in the UK.

And he gives some real wisdom on what to go all in on, and what matters during an economic downturn.

I hope you love this episode as much as I did.

#17 Kofi Josephs - The Importance of Getting To Know Yourself & Never Giving Up

#17 Kofi Josephs - The Importance of Getting To Know Yourself & Never Giving Up

Kofi Joseph’s is a guy who, one the outside, seems like he has it all.

Successful British basketball player and mode, but in this podcast interview - we go beyond the surface and delve into the real story of Kofi's life.

The work he’s put in, the struggles from his younger days, the events outside his control that made him who he is today.

And he’s better for it.

Growing up as an only child in the inner city, Kofi faced challenges that most of us can only imagine. Losing friends to violence and dealing with the impact of losing someone close to him to natural causes at a young age, Kofi's life was filled with unexpected and heartbreaking events.

Despite all of this, Kofi persevered and found his passion in basketball. But the road to success was not an easy one, and Kofi faced rejection after rejection before finally making it onto the England team. And even then, he faced more challenges, from crippling injuries and being told he needed surgery, to depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts.

But through it all, Kofi learned the importance of discovering his true self and living life on his own terms.

His journey is one of resilience, determination, and never giving up.

At the end Kofi's message is a powerful one - that we all have the potential to discover who we truly are and how to explore the depths of your true self.

#14 Nnamdi Anunobi | YouTuber, TikToker & Instagrammer

At just 23, Nnamdi Anunobi is already a Social Media superstar - creator, comedian, and influencer.

In this episode we talk about why/where/how it all started, and how he convinced his Nigerian-born parents that this was his path to success.

Most importantly Nnamdi shares the human side and why he never gave up.

With the 'glitz' of Social Media stardom - there have been highs and lows.

Jealousy from others, loneliness and the question of whether people want to get close to him genuinely or for a purpose.

Still, he continues to push forward - never letting anything get him down, and his work ethic shows in his creativity and continued content creation.

The future looks bright.

From football to fashion.

Steven Robb & Mark Corcoran, two friends who understood football wouldn't last forever, knew they wanted to go into business together.

They just didn't quite know what that would be, for a while.

And then through a visit to Thailand, some friends made, and a sweet wrapper... Bee Inspired was born.

A global designer streetwear brand, worn by the likes of Messi, Coutinho and Suarez - famous for being photographed everywhere.

In this episode, they tell the story of how the business was born, challenges through a pandemic, and their lessons from life and football.

A great chat, with plenty of insight for anybody wanting to start their own brand.

#11 - Welcome To The Story Club (What's In A Name?)

#11 - Welcome To The Story Club (What's In A Name?)

How has it been almost 2 years since the last episode?

Time flies when you're locked up and there's a pandemic going on...

Anyway, welcome back.

First things first, you might have noticed we've changed our name - want to know why? Just hit play and I'll tell you all about it!

Side Notes:

1. Please do send any great guest recommendations my way, no longer niching people in their 30's opens up plenty of possibilities.

2. Make sure to follow the Instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/thestoryclubpodcast. All the micro-content from episodes (so the extra wise soundbites) make it there in video format. See me, see the guests - how could you stay away?

Most importantly - thank you for your time and attention, (and powering through my dulcet Scottish tones, do I sound more dead inside following COVID? You be the judge.) there's so much 'content' out there, and so little time.

And I appreciate you making time for this.

It's good to be back.

#1 - Welcome To The 30 Something Podcast (What Is This All About?)

#1 - Welcome To The 30 Something Podcast (What Is This All About?)

Welcome to the '30 Something' Podcast - the show that will be deep diving into the lives of Entrepreneurs and generally interesting people in their 30's!

People in their 30's seem to think they have to put passions/hustles on hold whilst they're in the decade society expects them to start families and be settled. Too many think they missed the boat in their 20's and have to wait till their 40's to go for it.

That's just not the case, and what this Podcast and the series of interviews will be looking to prove.

I'm Jonny Rose - Social Media and Marketing guy at Slater Menswear - projecting what may or may not be my own angst of turning 30 into this audio series.

Like the sound of it? Subscribe, tell a friend and checkout the Instagram page @30SomethingInterviews where all the video content will be posted, as well as any giveaways I can rope our guests into...
