The S.O.S. Show

This week's show has our youngest guest to date - Zechariah Cartledge, the founder and face of Running 4 Heroes, a 501 C 3 non-profit organization where this young man dedicates a mile run to every fallen First Responder in our nation.  As of the airing of this show, Zechariah is inching toward completing 900 miles in less than three years.  Zechariah also raises money to provide First Responders injured in the Line of Duty funding to assist in their recovery.  Check out this week's story!

On today's show, Sarge will be interviewing a good friend, Lt. Brian Cameron, of the Augusta Fire Department.  Brian is also the Secretary of the Board for an organization we have spoken about in several of the past few episodes; Support 1.  Even better is the conversation we have about their partnership with another awesome non-profit organization called Running 4 Heroes Inc and what they are doing this coming weekend to raise money to further support Emergency First Responders.  Yet another great episode!!!

Today's show is with Captain Jim Woods of the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.  Jim and I have both participated in a Peer Team Deployment to our nation's Capitol in the past few months, and we wanted to reflect on the misconceptions of what our nation's Capitol Police Officers have endured.  These men and women are true heroes, and we are forever thankful to have met them and provided Peer Team services to them.  Listen to our story here!

This episode is with Firefighter/EMT Jesse Bragg.  Jesse is part of the puzzle that got the SOS Show on the road - he just doesn't know it like that.  Jesse's passion for the CISM community along with his service to several local non-profits with a program called the CSRA ThinLine Support Group is crucial to his own way of dealing with the stressors from the job and other aspects of his life.  Side note - Jesse is a drift car driver in his spare time and frankly is getting pretty dang good at it!!!  Check this one out!

On today's show, Sarge has a great conversation with Linda Doty of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office.  With years of experience in the field of mental health, Linda joined the Richmond County Sheriff's Office approximately one year ago as their embedded Mental Health Professional Counselor and has already proven to be one of their best assets!  Enjoy!!!

On today's show, the Sarge catches up with an old friend, Griff Garrison.  Griff was once a law enforcement officer in Augusta, GA and was involved in a traumatic event which took Griff down a rough road that ended in a great recovery.  Griff has since left law enforcement to pursue a career in coaching PGA and LPGA professionals in mental toughness as well as a career in television.  Griff and his partner Buck represented Team Alpha in the CBS show, Hunted in 2017.  Check out Griff's story!

In this episode, Sarge has a great conversation with one of Charleston's Finest - Guy Van Horn.  Guy talks about the highs and lows of his career, and how he found the right path with the help of a strong family and Christian values.  Currently, Guy serves as Charleston County Sheriff's Office's CISM Peer Team Coordinator after having retired as a Law Enforcement Officer.  Also, he and his wife, Cindy, volunteer with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team Law Enforcement Ministry where they assist officers and communities involved in traumatic events. 

On this SOS Call, we converse with the Director of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Assistance Program, the Dr Reverend Eric Skidmore.  The Sarge and Eric discussed how he got involved in the CISM World and how South Carolina's program was created!  Eric is a preacher by trade, but is definitely one of the most recognized names in the Law Enforcement world when it comes to Mental Health support and training.  We can only describe this as another one of those shows that you will not want to miss!

On this SOS Call, we converse with the newly retired Captain Andy Carrier of the Georgia State Patrol.  The Sarge and Andy discussed plenty of CISM and Mental Health topics, but also discussed Andy's awesome career and his involvement in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta!  Andy retired a Captain but was also the Director of the Office of Public Safety Peer Support, a newly formed group of First Responders that works directly with other First Responders in and around the state of Georgia.  Andy is a graduate of the University of Georgia as well as the FBI National Academy.  This is one of those shows that you will not want to miss!
