The Future is Bright for Vet Med
Dr Bob Lester remains as passionate about the veterinary profession as the day he entered veterinary school (sometime last century). He is a firm believer in the veterinary professions double bottom line proposition of doing well by doing good.
Bob spent his early career as a small-town mixed animal veterinary practice owner before joining the founding leadership team at Banfield. That was followed by joining the founding leadership team at Lincoln Memorial University College of Veterinary Medicine as Assistant Dean, and now as the Chief Medical Officer and co-founder of WellHaven Pet Health a family of veterinary lead AAHA companion animal practices.
Bob serves on a number of boards including WellHaven Pet Health, Vice President NAVC, and Treasurer of Pet Peace of Mind a non-profit that keeps pets together with hospice patients through end of life.
Most importantly, his family includes his wife Crystal, two remarkable daughter's McKenzie and Paige, and two rescue Yorkie's Jessie and Woody.

Dr Tierra Price: The Value of Community & Effective Mentoring
Dr. Tierra Price is a recent graduate of Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine, where she served as Vice President of her class and President of the Women’s Veterinary Development Leadership Initiative. She is currently a Community Medicine veterinarian in Los Angeles, California, but has a wide variety of veterinary interests including emergency/critical care, surgery, public health and lab animal medicine. As a veterinary student, in 2018, Dr. Price founded BlackDVM Network, a community that connects Black veterinary professionals for mentorship and advancing veterinary medicine. This safe space provides educational and networking opportunities for its members as well as a sense of belonging. Dr. Price’s commitment to highlighting Black veterinary professionals is directly related to her desire for a mentor she could identify with. In her free time, she loves dancing, yoga, reading and soaking up the sun. Most importantly, Dr. Price believes we should be able to show up as our entire selves in our career. She hopes to inspire others with her drive, authenticity and confidence to boldly take on challenges in veterinary medicine.
You can contact Dr Tierra Price at BlackDVM Network or on LinkedIn.

Living a good life despite everything....
Dr Anita Link is a small animal veterinarian who graduated from the University of Queensland in Australia in 1997. For the first twenty year she worked in small animal practices in both Australia and the UK, but is currently taking a break from veterinary work to concentrate on her other two passions: writing and mental health advocacy. Dr Link completed a Master of Arts in Writing, Editing, and Publishing between the birth of her two children. Her interest in mental health advocacy was borne from her experience of living with Bipolar 1 Disorder, which was triggered by the birth of her first child in 2006. She has written a memoir, which is due to be published this year (Covid 19 permitting) and runs "Thought Food", a website, which is home to her blog "Living a Good Life with a Mental Illness".
