The Attitudes Behind Conflict - Philippians 2
At the core of conflict is seeking one’s own way, pushing for personal advantage regardless of the effects on others. Jesus didn’t assert His will. He is God but He gave up His right on earth to exercise that fully and showed us humility.

What Does God Desire from Us? - Psalm 50
Psalm 50:7 "Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God."
God sets up this courtroom scene with Israel explaining what they had done well and what they had not done right.
Israel was missing the genuine relationship with God. It had become an outward formal relationship, but what God wanted most of all was a genuine relationship with them. The sacrifices were intended to show a person’s heart. They were intended to be brought before the Lord while Israel honored the Lord and decided themselves in their heart. God never intended that their outward acts would suffice without the right heart attitude.

Three Principles for Trusting God
All of us face problems and stresses, no matter how small or how large. We all experience the human condition. God's Word gives us some practical advice on how to trust God.
When you have problems or difficulties, the Bible instructs us with certain truths and it encourages us to reach out and grab hold of these principles in that situation...to trust God with these truths. It's not enough just to say, "Well, I'm going through tough times and difficulties or hardships or maybe just a small problem" and we just ignore God's Word. God's Word gives us some very practical advice.
- We ought to affirm that we are very important to God and He cares deeply for us."Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?" (Matthew 6:26)
- We ought to affirm that there are some things more important than our problems. The Bible is not just a book that meets our needs (which it does!), but the Bible is an exhortation to seek first the kingdom of God. (Matthew 6:33)
- We ought to focus on today. "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." (Matthew 6:34)
