#10: Craig Savage, Part 2 - Finding Your Path Through Tough Times: Male Infertility, Depression and Suicidal Ideation

This is a special two-part episode! In part one we talk through fascinating topics such as Systems Engineering, Bionic Eyes and Teaching. Part two (this part) explores really important, and often stigmatised issues, such as depression, male infertility and suicidal ideation. This is for you even if you’ve never suffered with these things because the things you learn here could save someone’s life. Thank you for listening! --- Dr Craig Savage is an Analytics Integrator, Instructor at Kaplan Business School, as well as serving as a Board Member and Community Organiser for Ultimate Australia. Originally from the US, Craig fell into Systems Engineering where he seized the opportunity to be paid whilst studying for his doctorate in Electrical Engineering in Melbourne, Australia. After being forced back to the US through no fault of his own, he taught at community college and then made a second leap into the outback. Back in Melbourne, he worked on bionic eye technology before shifting into finance and data analytics. Craig is far more than just an impressive CV though - his journey through depression and other crippling life setbacks is moving, inspiring and instructional. Gabrielle Ianniello on Developing Your Exit Strategy, Starting a Business and Unusual Social Media Tips.

---

Gabrielle Ianniello helps her clients 1:1 to develop an exit strategy so they can develop a more purposeful and fulfilled life. She is host of Corporate Quitter, a podcast where entrepreneurs and side-hustlers share their stories and provide listeners with actionable steps to help them achieve their own goals.

Over the course of 5 years, she job-hopped across industries in Real Estate, Tech, and Asset Management, yet still felt 'capped' in how much money she could make, the responsibilities she had, and the impact she was making. Despite hitting a 6-figure salary and getting a “dreamy Brownstone apartment on the Upper West Side”, she wasn’t fulfilled… so she quit and started her own business.

This episode is fast paced and jam-packed with deep insights and actionable tips. I hope you enjoy listening as much as I did!

#8: Mariusz Bruj on Uprooting Your Life, Building a Positive Mindset and Skill Acquisition

Mariusz Bruj is an automation engineer who had a couple of massive shifts in his life. Whilst still at university, he started working for an international company in their office located in Poland. A year later he decided to literally turn his life upside down and move to Australia. Here he continued his work, got a sponsored VISA and won the Melbourne Hat tournament (against Luke).

After years of living down under, the pandemic forced his hand in moving to Spain where he’s started another chapter of his life, living in the warm costa del sol. He describes this as an exciting adventure, where he’s met new people, embraced a new culture, lifestyle and their amazing food. Mariusz has a great mindset, and I am excited to bring you some of his insights.

Heidi Dening on Building Resilience and Courage, Escaping Life Threatening Situations and Healthy Workplaces

This episode is brought to you by Mindful Productivity, teaching busy professionals how to be happier, healthier, and more productive.

---

Heidi Dening is the author of best-selling self-leadership book called ‘Her Middle Name Is Courage.’ Over the last 22 years she started, scaled and sold an award-winning health and education business; founded an international not-for-profit with hundreds of volunteers across three countries; and delivered empowering presentations and programs to business leaders at Accenture, Westpac, and Metcash, on topics such as resilience, self-leadership and wellness.

She has been named ‘Best International Keynote Speaker’ in the Asia Pacific region at the Influential Businesswoman Awards 2020 and listed on the NSW Government’s Inspirational Women showcase in the entrepreneurial and empowerment category.

Since transforming her own setbacks such as a paralysing illness where she lost the use of her legs, to gunpoint kidnappings, from tsunami terror, and narrowly escaping being burnt alive when petrol bombs were thrown at her room, she now empowers organisations and their people to find the courage to keep moving forward during tough times.

Heidi has some amazing stories and insights that you can apply to your life. She’s a genuine, lovely woman and I’m sure that comes across in our chat. Enjoy!

Adam is owner of Absolution Coaching and is a stand-up comic, winning Toastmasters International "Humorous speech champion" for UK & Ireland, as well as performing three Edinburgh Fringe shows.

Adam is also an actor, NLP Practitioner and has two children. If that wasn’t enough, Adam is a model, runner and a vegan. Adam jokingly describes himself (to me) as a poor man’s Russell Brand (hilarious, with tattoos but slightly poorer and less famous).

I really enjoyed chatting with Adam as he is so open and vulnerable about his past, plus he is a hoot to boot!
