Highway 413 & #stopthe413

We're talking to Environmental Defence, Community Climate Council and Jenni Le Forestier on the organizing and advocacy they have been doing to #stopthe413, an increasingly opposed Highway project, proposed to cut through vast areas of forest and farmland, just north and parallel to the 407. This is a great opportunity to learn about how to organize and effect change in your community from those who have been involved in every step!

Farmer Protests and Revolution in India

Farmer Protests and Revolution in India

Why are farmers in India protesting? Why have thousands of people been protesting for over 7 months? Today, I'm talking to three community activists and protesters from India about the farmer protests and revolution. Surjeet Bola gives us a background of why farmers are protesting, what they are hoping for, and tells us more about the important role women are playing in agriculture and in this movement. Gurpreet Bhatti and Gursahiba Gill, co-founders of G&G, tell us how they have been supporting protesters, shed light on what it's like to be a youth activist during this time, and share tips on how we can support and be allies in Canada.
