He is a successful and confident guy with a particularly positive outlook on life despite several traumatic experiences he had to go through throughout his life, especially prior to his coming out as a transgender male. Joseph Fenity is an award-winning writer and one-time documentary filmmaker. His fascination with all things audio led him to his first radio job while he was still in high school. He later helped pave the way for podcasters around the world when he launched one of the first-ever podcast series — just months after the term “podcast” entered into the dictionary. He’s been heard on SIRIUS XM and published in ROLLING STONE. He’s obsessed with music, all things 90s and currently fascinated with the “drop-in” audio app, CLUBHOUSE, where he recently hosted a non-stop 17 ½ hour conversation. His writings have been published by various outlets including Rolling Stone and Out Magazine. Joseph helped pioneer the “podcast” format back in the mid-2000s when the San Francisco Bay Guardian awarded his groundbreaking podcast with its “Best of the Bay” award. He currently hosts the live video webcast FENITY FRIDAY every Friday night on Facebook, YouTube and on fenity-dot-live (fenity.live 9/8c). I chronicle my reality, from living in a house of horrors until age 12, then entering a county system as an impressionable, prepubescent white boy, and exiting a cynically enraged egomaniac with no self-esteem and poor social skills. How could I have acquired social skills? I was taught to believe my only marketable skills were my sexuality, my anger, and my musical ability — in that order. I was diagnosed with PTSD during my first year on the streets by a Newport Beach psychiatrist. At 17, I was released to the streets and immediately began a male escort service; with me being the number-one escort. I also started two other careers at once, one considered illegitimate and one considered legitimate. I was modeling for an industry that was pornographic (photos for magazines), and I was also being hired to play music. In those days, I could keep the two separated; I could earn money in distinctly different businesses without ever worrying that somehow the two would collide, and I’d be found out. In fact, I lived in “my world” and I only entered “your world” when I had to. A world-renowned photographer renamed me Shawn Mayotte in 1983, and thus began my nude modeling career. I was also a personal escort (sex worker) to many rich and famous movie & television moguls and actors including Robert Reed, David Geffen, Dack Rambo, Sandy Gallin, Allan Carr, and numerous others.

During my 3 year journey in bodybuilding, I had competed in 6 shows altogether, achieving my Men’s Beachbody Professional status with Global Bodybuilding Organization and reaching the national level as a heavyweight bodybuilder with the National Physique Committee.
After 3 years of putting myself through the intense training, diet, and dehydration protocols, 6 back-to-back shows, and working my weight up to 253 pounds, I finally considered stepping away from bodybuilding because I remember my daughter coming to visit and I couldn’t even sit on the ground to play with her. After seeing her defeated face, I knew something had to change. That very next day, on March 21, 2017, I leaned on a counter and in a split-second, it snapped – tearing 4 tendons and severing my radial artery and median nerve. When I got to the hospital and after running blood test, they had revealed to me that I had severe liver toxicity and an acute kidney injury because of the lifestyle and choices I had made to pursue bodybuilding.
After my injury and receiving the horrific news of my health, I knew something had to change. I used to be the most insecure person you ever met.I was constantly searching for the answer to true lasting confidence, and I swore I would share the answer when I finally found it. I wanted so badly just to spend a few seconds without insecurity. Like many people, I thought “It’s probably because of my body. If I just get really fit, then I will feel confident.” So I went all in on fitness… but even after achieving a perfect 6-pack I was still insecure. I continued to hustle in every area of my life prove myself. At one point I was consistently working over 12 hours a day.
Then in 2017, I hit rock bottom in my depression and I attempted suicide. The problem was never my body. It wasn’t fixable through any amount of hustle. My entire life I had believed I am not enough. Growing up in a conservative legalistic environment taught me that who I am as a gay man is not lovable to God. I believed that part of my identity was flawed and broken and needed to change. And until that turning point, I had drowned myself in school, in work, in fitness, ANYTHING to appear worthy of love. And ultimately, worthy of self-love.
If you’re struggling to find confidence you can probably identify with these. We people please to make sure our friends like us. We hustle at work to gain approval from our boss. We avoid conflict because we can’t handle the criticism. We procrastinate on things we care about to avoid failure. And every night our head hits the pillow with vivid memories of all the ways we fucked up today. And all the people who probably don’t like us because we said the wrong thing.
So let me answer the confidence question for you once and for all: Confidence is not something people are born with. And it’s not something that will come when you change your body, or your job, or your location, or your bank account. I’ve tried it all.
Confidence is created through three things, and three things only. Allowing discomfort, taking action (towards discomfort), and having your own back. And when we work together, I’ll teach you my proven method to become confident that works for everyone.

Mario Temes:
Mario is an American actor of Cuban descent from Hialeah, Florida. He first discovered his passion for the arts when he was gifted a drum set from his parents at the age of 11. His love for music soon grew into singing and performing in his high school musical theater productions. After having performed in various stage plays, Mario decided he wanted to explore the world of Film/TV.
Mario's television debut was the role of Javier Menendez on the USA Network series Complications. He went on to portray the lead in the award winning short Last Wishes directed by Herschel Weingrod . He followed those performance with his recurring role of Benito on the NBC series Game of Silence.

Tim Young is a New York native, and a lifelong vocalist, pianist, songwriter and performer. He holds two Grammy awards for his vocal work on The Greatest Showman (film) and Dear Evan Hansen (Broadway soundtrack). He made his Broadway debut with the original cast of Next To Normal, and went on to do David Bowie’s Lazarus, and the original Broadway cast of Dear Evan Hansen. He also played “Pippin” on FX’s Fosse/Verdon (TV), and recorded an original version of the Stephen Schwartz classic Corner Of The Sky, directed by Alex Lacamoire (Hamilton). Within four years I was developing websites for prestigious brands such as Chanel, Moet & Chandon, and the Dubai Mall.
The stress began to take its toll on my mind and body, even vacations were stressful due to the amount of work I was “not doing”. I knew I had to do something about it.
Around this time I was introduced to the concept of energy healing while rock climbing – an activity that offered much-needed relief from my corporate life. A friend had hurt himself and I witnessed his symptoms vanishing within seconds through the work of an energy healer who happened to be climbing with us. The healer recognized right away that I could see and understand what he was doing when no one else could. He recognized that I had an affinity toward energy/spiritual healing and took me on as a student. Over the next 8 years I spent countless hours learning how to teach the body, the mind and the spirit to work together.
Speaking as someone who’s both open-minded and skeptical, I approached the field of energy medicine with reservation. The practice piqued my interest for its ability to help manage stress and balance body systems but I, as most, had a hard time believing in something that I could not see or touch. It was contrary to everything I was conditioned to believe in a western medicine driven society. After countless positive outcomes from all kinds of issues, I began to understand the universe has a lot to teach.
I spent a few years working only on myself, but then started helping other people. I was astonished at how drastically I could help them improve their stress and mental health through spiritual work. It started to become clear that spiritual work was my calling. I decided to open a practice and dedicate my time to helping others.LINKS:

I chronicle my reality, from living in a house of horrors until age 12, then entering a county system as an impressionable, prepubescent white boy, and exiting a cynically enraged egomaniac with no self-esteem and poor social skills. How could I have acquired social skills? I was taught to believe my only marketable skills were my sexuality, my anger, and my musical ability — in that order. I was diagnosed with PTSD during my first year on the streets by a Newport Beach psychiatrist. At 17, I was released to the streets and immediately began a male escort service; with me being the number-one escort. I also started two other careers at once, one considered illegitimate and one considered legitimate. I was modeling for an industry that was pornographic (photos for magazines), and I was also being hired to play music. In those days, I could keep the two separated; I could earn money in distinctly different businesses without ever worrying that somehow the two would collide, and I’d be found out. In fact, I lived in “my world” and I only entered “your world” when I had to. A world-renowned photographer renamed me Shawn Mayotte in 1983, and thus began my nude modeling career. I was also a personal escort (sex worker) to many rich and famous movie & television moguls and actors including Robert Reed, David Geffen, Dack Rambo, Sandy Gallin, Allan Carr, and numerous others.

Carlos Brandt:
Carlos Brandt is the host of the'Dear Queer People' podcast. He's also a highly skilled public relations representative, who has spent most of his life in Madrid, Spain where he began his career as a journalist. He specialized in audiovisual, media coverage, broadcasting, marketing and PR campaigns. In 2017, he moved to New York City and shifted to photography and influencer marketing.

He has taught at Playhouse West, which was founded by Robert Carnegie and the late Sanford Meisner. Jeff Goldblum is also a teacher there.
In two of his most famous roles, he has played immortal and extremely powerful characters. In Lost he played Jacob, the almost god-like protector of the mysterious island, and in Supernatural he played Lucifer, a villainous fallen angel. In real life, Mark is one of the kindest, thoughtful, thinking people I've met. Whenever I come away from a conversation with him, I feel I've learned something, my own thinking is validated, and I have a new perspective to consider.
In Mark's latest project, The Guardian Project, he aims to eliminate online trolls who seek to dismantle the reputations of noteworthy people while hiding behind the anonymity of the internet.
Fun Fact: He was a serious contender for the role of Castiel in "Supernatural" before Misha Collins was cast. He later got to play the recurring role of Lucifer a year later.
Intro to Prelude to Positivity
Welcome to Prelude to Positivity. This is a podcast that will delve into some of the things going on in our world and in our consciousness right now. We'll be exploring the positive, BUT also tackling some of the uncomfortable topics that need to come to light. It's a prelude to the positivity because in order to get to the positive, we oftentimes need to experience the growing pains. Now, we may want to avoid somethings but I don't think now is a time for avoidance. I think we are going to have to face it all, even if we don't want to. It's the growing pains that teach us.
I'll be bringing on some guests from Tommy Talks, my show on GAYBC Radio, and I'll still be doing that too. I'll have some new people, some you may be somewhat familiar with, some you may know, and some you may be meeting for the first time. All of them are people I believe we need to hear from, whether you agree with them or not. I think we learn more by listening to all sides, at least I known I have. Prelude to Positivity will be more personal to me, and I hope to you too. I'll still be bringing you entertainment, music, actors, etc but I want to be able to bring even MORE.
The Prelude is the part where we get to do the work to get to a place of enlightenment, and I believe it will be worth it. Let's all do this with an open mind and I promise it will be educational and entertaining. Some episodes may just be fun, some may be a little of both.
