Ep 11 | Access the Magic, Part 6 of 6 with Tracy Scott
Welcome back for this final part of this series.
As a society, we are really good at identifying disease and treatments, but we often ignore the root cause of our problems. This is all about the most misunderstood of the gases ... carbon dioxide.
This is our secret weapon against fat loss!
Ep 10 | Access the Magic, Part 5 of 6 with Tracy Scott
Welcome back for our next episode in this series.
Breathing is an intimate connection between us and the universe. Get ready for a trippy ride through nasal cycling and how our nostrils open and close like flowers in response to our moods, mental states, as well as the sun and the moon. Our bodies work best when they are in balance and its influenced by these cycles!
Ep 9 | Access the Magic, Part 4 of 6 with Tracy Scott
One of the biggest things I've learned from my 20+ years of working with people, aging, as we know it, is not normal. We are unlearning everything we thought we knew, because these bodies are dynamic! They're able to change and adapt to the environment. They aren't stuck on a pre-determined genetic track. We don't need to lose cognitive function, bone density or lean muscle mass as we get older.
Ep 8 | Access the Magic: The Lost Art of Breathing, Part 3 of 6 with Tracy Scott
This is part 3 of 6 in the Access the Magic series.
Just as we are a culture of over-eaters, we are also over-breathers. When I was studying respiratory therapy, a respiratory rate of 12-20 bpm (breaths per minute) was considered medically normal. Our adult lungs can hold 4-6L of air and anyone that breaths at the high-end of that normal rate is getting two-times what they need. Breathing less isn't the same as breathing slowly. The key to optimizing the benefits of less breathing is fewer inhales and exhales at smaller volumes. For our body to be efficient, we should breathe as closely inline with our needs as possible. Think of it like the respiratory equivalent of fasting. As your body gets more comfortable with higher levels of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the blood, you will unconsciously breathe less during resting hours. This releases more oxygen (O2), increases endurance and better supports all functions in our bodies.
Ep 7 | Access the Magic: The Lost Art of Breathing, Part 2 of 6 with Tracy Scott
Join me in the 2nd part of this series as we explore the magic of our breath.
Evolution is a funny thing. What we've gained in brain size has fueled our development as humans, but it has come with costs too. About 200 years ago, it became the norm throughout industrialized Europe to have a small mouth, crooked teeth and obstructed airways. It coincides with the development of farming culture, which created the first time in our lives where we could spend our entire life eating nothing but processed food. There was nothing raw, fresh or natural.
Ep 6 | Access the Magic: The Lost Art of Breathing, Part 1 of 6 with Tracy Scott
Join me in this 6-part series as we explore the magic of our breath.
I've been interested in breathing for a LONG time.
I was in my third year of an undergraduate Biology program when I first heard about the field of Respiratory Therapy. It was 1992, so that's 31 years! It was one of my teaching assistants that first told me about a school in Toronto that was solely for applied health sciences. He was starting a program there the following September and he thought it was something I may be interested in. I can't even tell you how many times that has happened to me. It's the same thing that prompted me to pursue an MBA and we'll save that story for another day.
I know there is a strong connection between our inner awareness and the day-to-day world of health. When we understand what is happening inside our bodies, at the cellular level, it's easier to make decisions that support our well-being and how we experience this life. Our mind is powerful and our thoughts can affect how we feel physically. What escaped me was the link to our breathe and how we can use it to reconnect to our body. When we're connected to our body, we understand its messages. To get to this place of knowing, we need to take a trip back in time.

Ep 1 | I'm Coming Out!
I’m Tracy Scott, Founder of The Codes + Magic™ Apothecary and Creator of The Reinvention System™ The mission I accepted when I was born, was to follow my own rhythm and then teach other people how to uncover theirs.
My path was challenging, and I’ve landed in a place where I’ve let go of my attachment to doings things the way others think they should be done. I honour my needs for rest and replenishment, and now I want to spend more time exploring my need for play.
We are connected to ancient, powerful forces that will not be extinguished. You feel it in your bones, in your blood, in your heart, in your belly and you follow your own rhythm. You cannot be rushed or forced. You cannot be held back when it is time to burst forward.
I thought it would be fun to record conversations with my friends who are also connected to these powerful forces and expressing them in exciting, modern ways. We’ll experiment with all things around health and healing, and you can play with what works best for you. Take what resonates, come back for more and I guarantee there will be a ton of laughs!
