Best Selling Murderer: The Juliet Hulme and Pauline Parker Case Ep 3
Their plan to murder Honorah Rieper was top priority as the date for Juliet's departure from New Zealand was nearing, neither one thought that it would take more than one blow but when the pathologist was done examining Nora it would take the girls 45 blows to take the life of Pauline's murder and less than 24 hours for it all to unravel...

Best Selling Murderer: The Juliet Hulme and Pauline Parker Case Ep 1
When you are in school you develop a few things; you most likely have a top 3 for your future career and friends- but for Juliet and Pauline their friendship would exceed your typical high school BFFs, no these two wanted to be inseparable and they didn't care who they had to take down in order to maintain that. Two teenagers from two different countries and socioeconomic backgrounds would collide during the most impressionable time in a child's life and together they would create a story that neither is capable of escaping...

Behind Closed Doors: The Turpin Family Ep 4
Louise's face on the footage from the body cam of the officers who made entrance into the Turpin home told the world all we needed to know... they were caught.
17-year-old Jordan Turpin would make a decision, one that she had been planning for more than 2 years... Despite being able to verbally tell officers what was going on behind the closed doors of her family's home, she was able to show photos for proof, photos to say the words she didn't even know existed. Her story went from a tale-tell to one of the worse child abuse cases to be uncovered in America. This time all the children would escape their prison, unlike other children who are abused or neglected.
Join me tonight to close out this house of horrors series and the closeout of yet another season of TTCL...
If you know of a child being abused or neglected or suspect that a child is being abused or neglected please contact your local law enforcement or call the National Hotline for Child Abuse 1-800-422-4453, give a voice to the children fading into the background...

Miss American Serial Killer: Aileen Wuornos Ep 3
Aileen was now a killer, her first victim Richard Mallory dead from multiple gunshot wounds, and now she has found a better way at robbing these men... kill them first- she claims self-defense in each and every victim's case but not all were out to rape and beat her.
PTSD can make the mind see and hear completely different things than what is actually going on- for Lee the repeated rapes she suffered came to a head and burst into an uncontrolled burning rage within Lee. Triggered possibly by finding herself alone with a man in the woods and her fight or flight response kicked in causing her to take the lives of David Spears, Charles "Chuck" Carskaddon, and Peter Siems but she wouldn't stop at just these men... she was going to keep killing and keep robbing them until one beat her to death or until the cops figured her out...

Miss American Serial Killer: Aileen Wuornos Ep 2
Aileen and Ty meeting created tsunamis in their life together, they both loved each other (Lee would later say like sisters, however, Ty had been introduced as Lee's Wife on more than one occasion) but never the less these two were virtually inseparable from June of 1986 into 1991 when Lee would be arrested for the murder of 7 men and faced the electric chair for her crimes.
Lee desperate for love and acceptance turned her to the only person she could trust, Tyria. Lee did anything and everything to make sure Ty stayed in her life, even killing in order to support their dream bubble for as long as possible, and a wrong-place, wrong-time scenario landed Richard Mallory in a chance encounter with an angry Lee who claims to have acted in self-defense when the sex-crazed Richard went rouge and decided to rape her... per her side of the story...

Without a Trace... the Jennifer Kesse Disappearance Ep 3
Tonight we close out TTCL's coverage of the Jennifer Kesse Disappearance with some theories... some are far-fetched, others make complete and total sense but with very little evidence to go on all are plausible in a case like this.
Was it an office romance that lead to Jennifer vanishing into thin air?
Did Jennifer inadvertently cross paths with someone involved in human trafficking and lead to the sighting in Tennessee?
We discuss all of this tonight on TTCL!

Looking into the sudden disappearance of Jennifer Kesse you are presented with 50 leads, like a fork in the road, you have to choose one to go down and look at what makes sense and what seems completely out of the question based on the short timeline and what her parents have taught us about their daughter.
Questions raised on the exact time Jennifer disappeared allow us to use some of the things found around the condo at 3 pm the afternoon of January 24th to determine whether Jennifer was still home or had she already been abducted...
Now a possible witness steps forward and tells us of her interaction with Jennifer and something that could prove to be even more sinister than originally thought...

Without a Trace... the Jennifer Kesse Disappearance
Jennifer Joyce Kesse was just 24 years old when she vanished without a trace. Her family immediately took action with the hopes to find their loved one. 16 years later her face is still seen on missing person flyers around Orlando, her name is still spoken on investigative television shows and podcasts just like this one and still, no one knows what happened to this beautiful and young woman. The person to dump her car less than a mile from her condo is labeled the "Luckiest Person of Interest Ever". No one knows what happened to Jennifer and no one is giving up on finding her.

Robert Durst passed away January 10, 2022 days shy of the 40th anniversary of his wife going missing... foul play was suspected, and if anyone had opportunity and cause it would be none other than Robert Durst. But without a body or murder weapon, we can only speculate what happened that night of January 31, 1982.
The DA had just announced weeks prior to Robert's passing that they were reopening Kathie Durst's disappearance and that he was indicted as their offender in the case. Finding Kathie would be the needle in this haystack of a mess that this case is and we could finally put to rest a beautiful soul...

Cleansed by the Water- The Hunt for the Green River Killer ep 5
When the most unlikely person surfaces to help the Green River Task Force in their drive to stop the man creating terror in the King County area of Washington State, investigators have more than curiosity plaguing them with this offer for aide. There could be something here to learn and with the studies of John Douglas with interviewing serial killers, they can't help but hope that Ted Bundy possesses the key in finding their guy. But you have to wonder what the true intentions are of Bundy and if he is playing a game that only results in him escaping Ol' Sparky.
Gary's longest cluster killing spree is coming to a close, then suddenly the earth around King County pushes his dirty secrets to the surface and the Task Force adapts to a new way of investigating as body after body surfaces and some are of women never even reported missing.
This is part 1 of the 2 part season 3 finale of the True Crime Librarian, stick with me as we close out a case that took nearly 3 decades to solve, and the man whose hunch it was that Ridgway was their guy will get the best gift of all when his guy was the one they've been looking for all along...

27 possible victims at this juncture in 1983, they weren't even halfway through the year and their killer was adding notches to his bedpost faster than they were finding the bodies of the missing. No matter where investigators focused their eyes Gary was 2 steps ahead...
Gary was developing a pattern, certain areas on the strip became his go-to spots, his dumping sites would be used until compromised, and his vehicle description changed so that no two could correctly identify him... he was smart and always felt superior to those hunting him down... he was perfecting his craft and it was taking less time from the minute he picked up a woman to the point he dumped her lifeless body somewhere in the surrounding forest and vegetation.
Parents were frantic to find their missing daughters, only to find that they fit the profile of the type of victim hunted by the Green River Killer... many were left to wonder what happened to their daughters for nearly 3 decades... Gary was working in overdrive and had no plans of slowing down...

At the Hands of Their Father: The John Battaglia Jr Case ep 3
John wasted five years of his life on a get rich quick scheme, and when that failed so did his marriage... yet again by his own hand. This time he wasn't going to be the one on the losing end of things like he had been with Michelle, this time Mary Jean would pay for embarrassing John, she would pay for being smug, and she would pay for constantly trying to put her in jail. He would take from her the two things she treasured more than her own life... their daughters.
19 minutes is all it will take to be convicted of capital murder charges in the state known for having an express lane to the death chamber.

At the Hands of Their Father: The John Battaglia Jr Case ep 2
Michelle has fought hard and it's almost time to cut John out of her life, but John is like aggressive cancer. He keeps popping back up each time she thinks he's gone for good. It will take her moving a state away and the good looks of Mary Jean Pearle to finally silence John. But John needs to make sure she learns her lesson, the lesson he had eight days to conjure up.
John is far from tormenting the woman in his life, it's the only thing that makes him feel powerful...

At the Hands of Their Father: The John Battaglia Jr Case ep 1
What happens when the man you marry, the man that father's your children does the unthinkable? Michelle Ward Ghetti couldn't imagine the monster that lay in the pit of darkness within her new husband John. He had shown her a glimpse at who he would become and she wanted no part of that but when the pregnancy stick turned blue she was left with a decision; shame her family and have the child out of wedlock or marry the man that was capable of completely terrifying her?
John Battaglia was never capable of becoming a loving husband and father, he was raised in an abusive household. Losing his mother to suicide emotionally stunted John and the only living role model taught him to put his wife in her place by any means necessary. The desire to win over a father left John insecure and mentally unstable. Anything deemed an embarrassment needed to be fixed so the father he tried to impress wouldn't shame him for it. John had no idea what it took to have a wife and family and he certainly had no idea how to handle the mental disorder he most definitely had...

Above All Else: The Gypsy Rose Story ep 1
When do a mother’s intentions begin to raise flags of ill will? How far can abuse by Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy go before someone steps in and advocates for the victim? Dee Dee Blanchard was damn near perfect at manipulating people into doing not only what she wanted but what she felt she was owed in life and the cost of it all? Her daughter, Gyspy Rose Blanchard. Seeming the perfect mother-daughter relationship- Dee Dee was always quick to present herself and her daughter in any way they were asked; visitations with Gypsy father Rod was quickly agreed to but only on Dee Dee’s terms and only when she was positive that Gypsy would continue to act and do as a sickly child. Nothing was said or done without Dee Dee carefully scripting what was being said or how it was going to happen. Dee Dee’s childhood and well into her early adult life could set the precedence for the mental illness she harbored thanks to her own mother’s systematic doting from her own mother. Little did anyone know, Dee Dee would test her limits and see how the body would react when trying to trigger the symptoms of a disease she desired her child to be diagnosed with. All for the sake of attention and financial gain. Gypsy Rose Blanchard came into this world a happy, easy-going child. Her mother was her best friend, she didn’t see what others do in hindsight, she didn’t realize that living life day in and day out of hospitals was nothing more than abuse and torture… not until she was introduced to a world she desired so much. What Dee Dee never considered is her daughter’s desire for freedom and independence would be stronger than the fear she instilled into Gypsy…

Treated Like Trash ep 2
Amanda Wienckowski died at the hands of a man who only cared about the things he wanted- tonight we are going to take a listen as I dig into the discrepancies of the Medical Examiner's reports. That of Dr. Dianne Vertes is short and never really showing conclusively that the manner of death was nothing more than a drug overdose. Dr Sylvia Comparini's report is thorough that you read and imagine the marks, bruises, cuts, and injuries without referring to any photographs or exhibits. These vast differences in these two reports should have brought more from Dr. Vertes and her staff instead she went into the defensive and even went as far as to say there was not referral to photographs when there were over 80 images and 12 exhibits referred to in the report. Can proving homicide really be this hard?

When the Smoke Clears Ep 3
Arrest are finally made nearly 19 years later- but the amount of dead ends that this case sees is far more than any legend out there. We see false confession turned possible break through in an unsolved case where the couple were killed in the same manner as Danny and Kathy Freeman. The infamous serial killer Jeremey Jones makes an appearance with the false confession to the crime but you can't help but wonder as he has killed in the same manner. Three men known around town connected to underground meth world are the faces of evil in this case. Had investigators treated one piece of evidence differently then this entire case could have had a different ending. Now when Ashley and Lauria's name flashes in the headlines we all hope and pray with the Bible's and Freeman's that they are going to bring their girls home. In 2010 in a hushed courtroom the Freemans had Ashley declared legally dead. Lorene and Jay both understand why they did, they know that Lauria isn't out there waiting to be rescued, she and her best friend are out there ready to be brought home laid to rest.

When the Smoke Clears Ep 2
Ashley and Lauria still missing while Lorene and Jay Bible fight to find them. But as the smoke settles it seems the only way to find out what happened was to follow the trail of drugs. Rural Northeast Oklahoma seems to be something out of a movie; drugs are either being processed or the consumption of drugs, all of that means who should you trust? Not the local law enforcement and not the OSBI, corruption is starting to show itself and you just might find yourself on the other side of what happened the night of December 30, 1999.
Join me next week as we wrap up this odd and strange case.

When the Smoke Clears
The tiny town of Welch Oklahoma is established on Cherokee land, and it's the second largest city within it's county- the population is 631. In the shadows of Welch is the fire that completely destroyed the Freeman's home and unleashed one hell of a crime. It's been 21 years and there are no more answers to the questions that were raised when the smoke cleared on December 30, 1999. This crime is one that is part cold case and partly solved. Ashley Freeman and her best friend Lauria Bible disappeared into the night and have not been found since. This is a mythical tail of arson, murder, drugs, police corruption and missing girls. One mother's journey to uncovering just where her daughter is and what happened the night of the fire seems to be the only fight in solving this entire case
Join me as we sift through the ashes to make head or tails of this crime- did they capture the right men or are they no closer to finding out who committed this murder and no closer to finding these two missing girls.

The Devil is in the Photograph... ep 3
Jodi Arias is on the brink of destruction- she is inserting herself into the investigation from the get go. She has to know where the Mesa PD is standing once she hears that Travis has been found. She is a person who likes to be one step ahead but living hours away she is finding it difficult to control the situation without inserting herself.
Travis's friends and family were distraught hearing about losing Travis but this was just the beginning of their journey in getting justice for their friend. They would have to sit back for nearly a decade as the case unfolds and they get introduced to the Travis that was addicted to Jodi and it's a person they never thought he could be..... in the end no one was fooled by the now mousey accused- she may have changed her appearance in the years since they saw her last but the same person was still behind the rimed glasses and dark hair.
I want to thank you all for joining me for this case, it was one that I thought I knew well but my research showed me the stuff edited for television was just the tip of the iceberg and there was more to the ex-girlfriend scorned by her once lover.

The Devil is in the Photograph... ep 2
Travis and Jodi had a rocky relationship from start to finish- everyone around him could see Jodi’s potential and he waved off each and every warning, Jodi wasn’t crazy enough to actually hurt anyone. A sudden move to be closer didn’t work, instead it just pushed them further away. The one thing Jodi had left when all these two could do was fight was their “List” but when Travis breaks his last commitment to her things inside of Jodi change and the thought of someone else having what she wants isn’t going to happen on her watch.
A trip to see the new guy in her life is nothing more than a cover- the man of her dreams is slipping away and she has the perfect solution…

We close out this series next week stick with me as this end of this relationship is far from over even after Travis’s death Jodi still isn’t satisfied- she is going to take his reputation down with her…
The Devil is in the Photograph... ep 1
Jodi Arias’s smiling mugshot was shown on the television around the world. The girl next door who brutally murdered her ex-boyfriend and her story as to why keeps on changing.
Jodi’s life before Travis helped mold her into the insecurities that she displayed throughout her dating life- she feared trusting that she was enough and that her heart wouldn’t get hurt but with every chance she took Jodi seemed to be the one getting hurt until she met Travis.
Travis was finding success after what seemed to be a rocky start to life- he found a Church and religion that he believed in with every fiber of his being, even when the rules seemed to be unfair. Willing to work hard he expected to have fun harder and he was a man accustomed to getting what he wanted and when an exotic looking blonde walked into his life he knew he wanted her.
A friendship began under the neon lights in the city of sin- both working for the multi-marketing firm that brought Travis out of financial struggle and Jodi was praying would be her saving grace. What kindled under the lights that night was pure unadulterated lust burning a desire so deep in the two of them neither was capable of escaping it’s flames….

Dark Shadows ep 3
***WARNING THIS EPISODE IS EXTREMLY LONG, PLEASE BEAR WITH ME AS WE MAKE OUR WAY THROUGH THE END OF THIS CASE!***
The trials of Jessie Misskelley Jr and Damien Echols and Jason Baldwin continued to rock the media outlets from the moment Fogleman got up to start opening arguments. The three boys had no idea how what would happen in the weeks during the trial would change the next 20 years of their life. With the deck stacked, the West Memphis 3 never gave up hope that their innocence would prevail. This black mark on the American Justice System is one to stay, as technically speaking all three men have yet to be exonerated.
This episode is going to jump as the testimony did in the courtrooms in 1994; witnesses were called to the stand more than once answering questions over and over in different areas of this murder trial. Stick with me as we make heads or tails of the mounds of testimony given and how it took 2 juries less than 48 hours to convict all 3 teens.
Home (mysite.com) is the link to dive into if you are still wanting more out of this case- I caution you as this could become never ending....
Dark Shadows Ep 2
The investigation into the murders of Steven Branch, Christopher Byers, and Michael Moore is taking a turn- the statement early on from Investigator Gitchell regarding occult activity and Satanism is only going to grow bigger with the reports of a juvenile probation officer Jerry Driver. Unsuspecting teen, Damien Echols would earn himself a top spot on the top of Gitchell's suspects all because he was trying to find his way in the world, needing something to believe in. A teen with a low IQ would provide Gitchell the story he would need to take down Driver's boy, the only once capable of committing a murder like this, along with a quiet heavy metal, concert tee wearing 16 year old. The world would know their faces but they wouldn't get the whole story....
**The audio recording of Jessie Misskelley Jr. is provided by callahan.mysite.com; I highly recommend those engrossed in this case go check out this website you'll find more than you could ever imagine...

30 Years of Terror- BTK Ep 5
A serial killer begins leaving bread crumbs for police using the media as his messenger and now the once young hungry cop who was part of the original task force to find and bring him to justice is now head of the homicide department with the Wichita PD, now with an open line of communication in more than 20 years he's not going to let him slip through his fingers again. Armed with his hand selected task force and performing what is jokingly called the swab-a-thon he's hell bent on nailing BTK to the wall. But what he learns in the course of year since BTK reached out to the PD is the body count they thought he had was far from the being accurate.
Join me as tackle the last years of Dennis Rader's reign of terror....
30 Years of Terror- BTK Ep 4
A husband accused of killing his wife in a heat of the moment strangling and a grandmother kidnapped and killed left for anyone to walk up on and find do not fit the pattern they've been studying.
Dennis's age is starting to show and the whole thing could blow open any moment unless he intertwines his public life even farther in the community making it almost impossible for anyone who knows him to accuse him of these torturous murders.
Join me tonight as we see another decade come and go and start in on the his third...
30 Years of Terror- BTK Ep 3
Dennis is finally ready to hunt after Nancy Fox and the victim he has his eye on is far from what his victimology has been- but when his alibi slowly ticks away as he waits for her to get home he is forced to protect himself and his secret. Walking away empty handed should have drove the "monster" inside crazy but instead we see some of the strongest self control in a criminal ever.
But when the perfect alibi pops up, allowing him virtually all night with a victim he would be stupid to pass it up- forced to hunt close to home Dennis Rader puts his secret life on the line for a little bit of gratification...
Join me as we keep digging into BTK victim by victim and watch as he skews away from everything the FBI thought they knew about serial killers
30 Years of Terror- BTK Ep 2
Detectives fear that the young officer is right and telling the community that there is a serial killer on the lose in Wichita Kansas could cause more harm than good that is until he ups his demand after committing what he calls the perfect hit.
Join the Librarian as we dive deeper into what makes BTK tick.
