- Do I trust your credit rating to this person?
- Would my feelings for this person change if their physical appearance was significantly altered?
- Does this person treat their parents with respect? Not always true but a good guide
- Do I want to spend the holidays with my potential future in-laws?
- Do we have similar values and life plans? (family priority, politics, vacations, # of kids, career)
- If I became handicapped, would I trust this person to stay with me and take care of me?
- Will this person make a good parent for our children?
- If I died when our kids were young, would I trust this person to marry a good parent for our children?
- Am I willing to give up my independence for this person and my future family?
- Can this person be trusted to follow scriptural principles?
- Does this person love Jesus more than they love me?
