Like Wheat
In biblical text, threshing wheat was a way to separate the good parts from the bad parts (remove the wheat from the chaff). In Luke's gospel, Jesus tells Simon (Peter) that Satan has asked to have him and sift him like wheat. Meaning, he wants to separate him from what's good in Him and what's good for him. But Jesus prayed for him, that his faith would not fail. Jesus is interceding on your behalf, Don't Give Up!

The Mercy Rule
God blesses us with opportunity everyday. The Bible describes these opportunities as mercy. The mercy that we receive is nothing short of a gift from God. What you do with your mercy reflects your gratitude for life. Are you taking advantage of fresh mercy today?

Dark Nights
There are some moments when we don't understand why things are happening. The load gets heavier and harder to carry, and the pressure can be crippling. In Job's case, the early account of his life was devastating. Despite losing his family, fortune, and health I can't help but to be motivated by his ability to believe God in the midst of his dark nights.

Nothing But The Blood
We must realize that we don't... and never had the power to save ourselves. Happiness and joy is fleeting without our Lord and Savior Jesus. You can drink, party, and club. Deny God, rely on your job, or your spouse if you choose. Serve other God's and worship your idols. At some point, you'll cave. At some point you'll run out of answers. I have tried everything under the sun. Only to realize... Nothing but the Blood of Jesus will save me!

The Drop
If you've ever dropped your child, there's an immediate panic. We check for physical damage, but we can never assess internal damage at that moment. We can't measure a child's anxiety at that moment. We can see tears, but we can't see an accelerated heart rate. So it is with you and I, no one can see where we've been dropped in our life. No one can measure our pain, anger, or unforgiveness as a result of us being dropped. However, we can examine ourselves. Are you willing to do that?

Abandoned in Obscurity
There will be a time when you feel unheard, unloved, and notoriously rejected. Invisible even. Although the circumstances appear to reveal abandonment and obscurity. God is allowing you the opportunity to strengthen your faith. Don't shift along with the distractions. Stay grounded and look beyond what you see.

It's Not What You Think
In this episode I use an unlikely conversation between me and God to expose the importance of guarding your thought life. Do not be fooled that you're actually thinking because you're consciously aware of certain thoughts. It's the thoughts you don't hear that are shaping you're reality.

Sacrificial Love
Jesus paints a picture in Luke's gospel about leaving the 99 sheep to find the lost one. If you spend time thinking about it, it's a true love story. His love isn't questionable but ours is. Are we willing to make the same sacrifices as He did?

Why Jesus Weeps
As mighty as Jesus is, we can find the one thing that breaks His heart. Unbelief! It's the same with us as human beings as well. We can experience hurt and brokenness when those we love and truly care for could care less to show faith and trust in whom we know we are. Make sure that if you're surrounded, be surrounded by people whom will speak life into you and bring the best out of you.

Entertaining Conversations
Listening to the wrong conversations can have a huge impact on your life may areas of your life. It's important to observe where you are in life and take an inventory of your feelings. Are you where you want to be? If not, then you need to find out what conversations you have entertained that has placed you where you are. Both inner and outer conversations can have an impact. Find them and eliminate them.

Awareness
In 1 Timothy, Paul charges Timothy to do two things to ensure he stays on the path to righteousness. He insist on Timothy to 'Cling and to Keep.' Both of which are vital to His spiritual growth and walk with Christ. As you read the text along with this podcast, it becomes quite clear that we should follow the same instructions so that our walk with God is fulfilling and is used for impact.

Indifferent
The feeling of indifference is sort of an oxymoron because indifference is the equivalent to numb. There isn't a gauge of anger, sadness, or anxiety. Indifference is a space of void and emptiness. You want laughter but refuse to go into an atmosphere that produces it. You want to experience love and joy, but push away that which can give it. Jesus says to turn from your indifference, the place where apathy nor passion have life. The lukewarm state of existence. Jesus promises to clothe you in righteousness and give you the best in exchange for your indifference. Will you accept His offer?

In The Still
There is a place where we can go that gives peace and clarity to all things. However, we must make a conscious choice to discern the voices and noise that we entertain. Without the 'Still' is it possible to connect with God? Is it possible to hear what you need to hear from Him to know the right choices to make?

Disgusted
There's nothing more frustrating than dealing with people who can't make up their mind. Ironically, this is something that God Himself despises as well. In Revelation 3:15-16 we are given a literal metaphor for Jesus' distaste for indecision. He makes a reference to vomit or spew/spit us out of His mouth. He desires that we rather be all in or all out.

The Residue of Rejection
Rejection leaves a tremendous amount of residue after it happens. We may think that we've moved on after we've gotten up and have dusted ourselves off. But the truth of the matter is that the lingering effects of rejection leaves behind residue. Anger, self-condemnation, sadness, and other feelings are just traces of unforgotten rejection. Even Jesus felt the sting of rejection at every turn. No matter what He did, He was rejected. People wanted more miracles, more healings, more acts of divinity, and in return He was met with brutality, humiliation, and suffered a criminals death. He was able to turn His residue into a resurrection. What will you do with yours?

Losing the Labels
At one point or another you've maybe heard 'I hate you!', 'You're just like your father!', 'You're trash!', 'etc. You get the point. All of us have had something said to us that was hurtful and quite damaging. Whether or not we believe if what was said is true, the reality is that our acceptance of what was said manifested in our real lives. You may have noticed that sometimes our behavior reflects the behavior of what was used to describe us. We don't have to accept labels or entertain them. We are free of judgement once we decide to drop the labels.

Label Maker
Label makers are typically an office tool or a tool used to identify specific compartments in an office space or a house. Sometimes they are use to reveal a name on a name badge. These are acceptable ways to use a label maker. What if we as people have become label makers? To establish a label upon person or circumstance based upon rumor, poor observation, or even from our own personal experiences is the wrong way to use a label. Not only do we speak things into existence when we label someone, but we engrain our accusatory opinion into their mind. Leaving them to inevitably label themselves.

Cardiac Attacks Pt.2- No Fig Leaves
Shame and condemnation often come at the end of an offense and eventually we begin to harbor unforgiveness towards those that offended us. As a result we can lose ourselves behind the choices that we make when we're hurting and cover ourselves in fig leaves (sin). The good news is that God has already forgiven us and his love and mercy is new everyday, but we must accept it to experience it. If you can find the courage to forgive yourself it becomes a lot easier to forgive others.

Cardiac Attacks
A cardiac arrest occurs as a sudden change or failure in heart function. In life we experience sudden changes in life that we do not expect. How we perceive and analyze the information given is a direct result of what we did with the experience. We can be evolved by the experience or molded by it. It's our choice. Today I am speaking to the men and how we often internalize conflict and anger. But most importantly, what can we do about the pain and depression that we internalize? Find out in this episode.

Was it Worth it Pt.2- Perception, Perspective, Truth
Let us not waste energy on what we perceive to be the truth. Perception can sometimes be persuasive if we have no course of purpose to strive for. We can easily dismiss the truth about what God says and who God says we are if we are not in tune with the spirit of God. Whom in your circle is a trap for you? Whom in your circle will discourage you from your destiny?

Faith or Fear: I thought so! (The Lost Episode)
What we think we will determine where we place our faith or if we will be restricted by fear. You can think your way into freedom or fear your way into destruction or captivity. The circumstances you face may have a lingering effect to them. You may be experiencing some pain, some anger, or discomfort from a decision or choice. Many of us make these choices that result in shame, fear, and guilt. The Unchained Podcast: Season 2: Episode 16: I Wrestle Too
We all wrestle with knowing whom we truly are. If you are in Christ then I would suggest that you are not wrestling with whom God has called you to be but more so of accepting the idea of whom God called you to be. We more than likely wrestle the wrong things in life. We often fight with bad thinking instead of fighting to walk in our image of God.

The Way Back
Being caught by your thoughts leaves you entrapped in your feelings and your feelings can often provoke action. At times we can allow our emotions to carry us away from our purpose, passion, and our calling. But that does not mean that God does not follow through on His word. His grace and mercy allows to find our way back to him. Through our desperation for wholeness God will move the needle to direct our paths back into His arms.

When You Decide
There are things that happen to us in life that are just flat out unfair. We have the option to let these things interfere with or alter our life. Watch What You Say
Have you ever said something that you wish you could take back? What if the thing you said came true in a way that you didn't expect? How intentional are you with your words? Believe it or not, they have power. They can build up or tear down. They can produce and create life, or they can leave someone feeling worse than death. Words can be empowering but they can also be sharp enough to puncture. Choose them carefully before you speak them.

How Jesus Responds
If there is one thing that is evident about Jesus, its that he responds to faith. How does Jesus respond to faith though? What moves His heart or His hands? Are there things we must do or things that we shouldn't? I am aware that Jesus is great in all capacity. What would you do to experience His greatness in tangible form? In Mark chapter 5 we find that when Jesus is on the move, all things are possible through desperation?

The Power of Insight
Sometimes we're stripped away from our normalcy to find who we truly are. What we think of as life can be deceiving at times. What if your normal or comfort zone was built upon a lie? What if the lie you were told to believe was only your perception of truth based upon your exposure to religion? How would that make you feel? Would you be angry? hurt? broken? The power of inward reflection is most valuable in the light of Christ. Whom God says we are outweighs the traditions and expectations of man. When you know God has a plan for you, you don't need validation from man.

The Outsider
Never find yourself outside of Jesus' inner circle. Being away from His presence means you'll never find the intimacy that you crave from Him. Revelation is only given through a close relationship. Furthermore, intimacy with Christ is needed for spiritual growth. Our faith will be tested and if the seeds of faith haven't taken root then you're sure to be uprooted.

Alone Time
There are times in our walk with God where we feel distant from His presence. It is important to know that our distance or feeling thereof is a choice. Our feeling of the separation from God is boiled down to our neglect in time with Him. Therefore this feeling is more than likely truth, but it does not point to a fact that God has left us but rather reflects the truth that we left Him. Love language is expressed in time spent. You become what you hang with. Which begs the question, Who/what has your time?

A vantage point is described as the best afforded way to get a view of something. It seems that everyone has their own vantage point about things that are not kin to them or things that they may be unfamiliar with. Humble Yourself
We often have the issue of wanting to hang onto our title or image in exchange for the freedom that comes from Christ. The Advantage of Opportunity
In life we are sure to experience adversity of all kinds. The book of James tells us that we are to have joy when we encounter these trials. I have found that our perception makes all the difference in how we perceive and process information. We can see the problem as just a problem or we can see that with each trial there is an opportunity for growth. As the old song goes "What you see is what is what you get!"

Immaturity
There is a great gulf between what a leader speaks and what a student understands. Just because something is taught doesn't mean the lesson is learned. There are people who do not hear what is said; and, others hear what they wanted the teacher to say. People don’t really get the message all at once. And until a person can fully digest what's being taught in the lesson. They'll remain immature (not fully developed in an area). The issue with many people is the fact they want to educate people in an area that they haven't fully mastered. Anytime you try to speak life into something or someone with a half developed understanding you create a half-breed. In other words, you limit the growth potential. You cannot teach what you do not understand. Find ways to listen @ https://anchor.fm/unchained

Catalyst of Change
The motives to our actions are determined by faith or fear. What we hold in our hearts becomes present in how we behave in accordance to everyday life. We can't walk by faith and live by fear. It is impossible to live by both simultaneously. However, life as we know it at this very moment can be scary. But if your hope is in Christ and the promises of God, you have nothing to fear.

Dead Weight
Carrying problems when you don't have to results in dead weight. In older days, if you committed murder the dead corpse would then be attached to your body until the rotting flesh ate through the living flesh of the offender. Divorce is Ok! (Re-Release
"I love you...I love you too" Deception is easy when selfishness is at the top of the list. Divorce is inevitable when selfishness is at the top of the list. Are you willing to make the necessary adjustments to be the one God has called you to be? Divorce now in days seems to be a common outfit to put on. We seem to brag about getting a divorce rather than be an adult, look inwardly, and do what we can to fix our families. It would appear that family is the least of our priorities as we often make our "feelings" king of the household. In this episode I hold no punches in describing 3 ways that we experience or commit an act of divorce. (My Apologies for the last release as I uploaded the rough draft versus the finished copy. The Hungry Hypocrite
Be careful that you don't judge a person's situation without knowing what they're going through. True spiritual maturity does not use unjust scales when weighing one another's sin. We find many times that people take on the exhausting task of trying to fix broken people. More often than not, the person who's attempting to do the fixing is also broken. Kill the Chaos
Internal conflict can be the killer of your faith. The thoughts you choose to entertain could be why you're brokenhearted and confused. When the Night is Darkest
Don't turn away from God. Many of us feel that if we get ourselves together first then we can approach God. This would be an excellent plan if you could change yourself. But we can't! Only a relationship with the creator can change our hearts. A relationship with God reveals our destiny and helps us build our faith for things to come. Turn to God, because the night is always darkest before the light shines. We can't see our way clear but by trusting in God we know the light is soon to shine.

Let it hurt
Confrontation of internal conflict can cause trauma. The choice to choose darkness rather than light can take us further than we want to go in sin. The light of Christ gives us an out when we face temptation. What you choose can have a severe impact on how your life turns out.

Foundational Focus
We all have a blueprint that God has mapped out in our life. God also has given us visions of the life we are to lead. However, our focus determines our level of living. Everything that we do in life will be tried by fire. Meaning, we will all encounter problems in this life and our true character will show when faced with adversity. The weight of the problem will reveal if you have been building your life on the foundation of truth (which is Jesus Christ) or worldly wisdom. The fire to come will tell us all we need to know.

True Connection
The only way to truly connect with God is to face inner truths. Coming to Christ exposes things in our life that we must hand over to Him or otherwise be overtaken by. We often find that Christianity has become a passive segway to an adulterous doctrine. We hear messages that say "you can live in sin but it's ok because God is gracious and merciful" He is and praise Him for it. But If we really understood who God is then it would be hard to purposefully and continually operate in sin. To know the word of God and deliberately disobey it is blasphemous.

Whatever you may think, God doesn't have qualifications for you to preach the gospel. Fear Entraps You Pt. 2: The Weight of Worry

Fear Entraps You
If you're going to be fruitful you have to decide to operate in fear or in faith. According to 2 Timothy 1:7, fear isn't real. Fear by definition is an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous. If we're not careful, our fears become a reality. The bible tells us to worry about nothing but pray about everything.

Episode #10: Naughty by Nature
People always walk in what they worship. What you're tied to will ultimately consume you. Living your life by what feels good is generally a sign that you cater to your flesh. What feels good to your body, emotions, or mind. The only way to connect to Christ is to accept his love. To accept His love you must be in relationship in with Him. And love is always determined by what you do. What you love always gets your time, attention, and money.
