Getting Out Part 2
Getting Out Part 1
This is the first of a two part sermon on Exodus 14. The Red Sea crossing is a beautiful picture of the work of Christ in the believers' life. On one side we are enslaved to sin, facing certain death, and objects of wrath. on the other side of the cross we are liberated, given a new life and a new identity in Jesus Christ
McCoy Surgeon's testimony
This week we hear the testimony of McCoy Surgeon. He shares a powerful story of God's work of redemption and restoration of all that he lost.
John 21:4-19 ESV- "Do you love me?"
This week we take a look at John 21 where Jesus sits by a familiar fire with Peter and overcomes Peter's guilt and shame, reinstating him as a disciple.
It’s A Wonderful Life
Not the King You Were Looking For
This week we look at the Triumphal Entry and how Jesus is a Counterintuitive King. As Tim Keller writes in "The King's Cross:" "Palm Sunday is a long mismatch of what we think we need and what God has provided... God always gives you what you would have asked for if you knew everything he does."
The Offensively Attractive Gospel
This week we take a look at 1 Peter 2:8-12 (ESV) where the Apostle Peter reminds us that the gospel is inherently offensive; it points out our sin and our need for salvation, Before pointing us to the work of Christ on our behalf. Peter also commends beleivers to not add additional offense through a careless and sinful lifestyle.
Connecting the Gospel to Culture
This week we look at Acts 17, where the Apostle Paul shares the Gospel with the thought leaders of the day at a place called Mars Hill. We dwell on the importance of being faithful to the context of scripture and the context of the culture that God has called us to reach.
Remember the Gospel
This week, we take a look at 1 Corinthians 15:1-7 where the Apostle Paul shows us that the Gospel isn't just the ABC's of the faith. It's the A-Z of the faith. It is the basis of our salvation, the lifeline in our relationship to God and also the lens through which we understand all of our relationships.
UACC #26 The Shrewd Manager
"If you’re honest in small things, you’ll be honest in big things; If you’re a crook in small things, you’ll be a crook in big things. If you’re not honest in small jobs, who will put you in charge of the store? No worker can serve two bosses: He’ll either hate the first and love the second Or adore the first and despise the second. You can’t serve both God and the Bank." - Luke 16:10-13

UACC #25 Hold Fast to the Life Giving Gospel
We have been brought from darkness into the light, we have been regenerated through the work of the Holy Spirit by believing and obeying and trusting in Jesus Christ. He humbled himself and became one of us and layed down His life on the cross. We cannot trust in the life giving Gospel and refuse to forgive others and to look down on other people. We all live by the grace of God.
UACC #24 We Are Exiles on Earth
"The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally." -Ezekiel 34:1
Exile is a common Biblical theme not only found in the book of Ezekiel. We must keep God as the number one priority in our lives to be guided through the exile here on Earth.
UACC #23 Faith Through Fire
This sermon comes from the book of Daniel and goes over the heroic story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego who refused to worship a false idol before King Nebuchadnezzar. These 3 jews were thrown into the furnace and yet remained unharmed and when Nebuchadnezzar looked into the furnace he saw 4 men, not 3. God delivered these men because they refused to bow before a false idol and were willing to glorify God even if it meant their deaths. Are you willing to glorify God in the face of a sinful and idolatrous society even if it meant your death?
UACC #22 Forgetting God
"Come now, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, spend a year there, buy and sell, and make a profit'; whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away. Instead you ought to say, 'If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that.' But now you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil. Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." -James 4:13-17

UACC #18 Do Not Be Conformed to This World
UACC #18 Do Not Be Conformed to This World
In the modern world we are very often sold a functional heaven, a functional hell, and sacrifices required to achieve the functional heaven. People of this world may not realize it, but we all have the capacity to worship and many of us are worshipping false idols. We must turn away from these idols and worship God!
"Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." - Romans 12:1-2
UACC #17 We Don't Understand Who God Really Is
Is God a comic Santa Clause in your mind? Does He like everyone you like and dislike everyone you dislike? Chances are you are not worshipping the God of the Bible. Even the prophet Isaiah thought he had a good idea. We should not a worship a God of our own making. Learn more about God's vision by watching UACC #17!

UACC #15 Sufficiency of Scripture and the Bible as the Word of God
2 Timothy 3:16 ESV "All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and training in righteousness," You must use scripture to understand scripture. Take scripture as the word of god you cannot remove the parts you do not like, and leave the parts you agree with. Although it is impossible to write and know everything there is to know about God as God is infinite. The Bible alone is our authority and contains all we ned to know about God.

UACC #14 Marriage Is the Shadow of a Greater Reality
"Marriage is not a human invention to make you happy, it is invented by God to make you holy." To sanctify you - holy, blameless, without spot. Marriage is the shadow of a greater reality - "The gospel is this: we are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared believe, yet at the very same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hope.

UACC #6 Biblical Fellowship, Incarnational Living, Breaking of Bread
Listen to Sunday's sermon as we delve into Acts 2:42 - 47 and discuss the breaking of bread with our fellow Christians.
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people." - Acts 2:42-47
"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins." - 1 Peter 4:8-9
"Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality." - Romans 12:13
"And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth." - John 1:14
"But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility." - Ephesians 2:13-14
"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." - Philippians 2:5-11
UACC #5 Becoming a Community Not a Club
In this episode of the UACC Sermon Podcast, we delve into what the church is. Is it a community, a club, or an enclave? Can Christians be as effective on their own compared to a church body? To what degree should Christians engage in the American culture?
Here are the passages used to support the arguments:
"For no one can lay a foundation other than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 3:11 ESV
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom you have given me, may be with me where I am, to see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world." - John 17:20-24
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 2:5-11
"As it is, there are many parts, yet one body." - 1 Corinthians 12:20
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace..." - Ephesians 1:3-8
